This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2016-01-20 17:45:27] j8 : excellent
[2016-01-20 17:47:20] sleger : BitMEX_Sam: what was the original reason for choosing quanto as main product and not inverse ?
[2016-01-20 17:48:16] habibi : bullish sentiment of ceo :p
[2016-01-20 17:48:41] BitMEX_Sam : I'll have Arthur remark on that when he's next online, he can explain it much better than I can
[2016-01-20 17:50:13] BitMEX_Sam : The gist of it is that the non-linear nature (in Bitcoin) of inverse futures makes the downside potentially infinite and therefore more difficult to manage with high leverage
[2016-01-20 17:55:31] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 28 @ 408.15
[2016-01-20 18:01:34] blackwhite : Error in the contract specs. Fair Basis Rate parseInt(value * 100, 10)%

[2016-01-20 19:22:38] rapidtrades : lol
[2016-01-20 19:22:38] thehawthorne : wanna wait for further market structure
[2016-01-20 19:22:44] rapidtrades : ok bud
[2016-01-20 19:23:20] thehawthorne : got some buy orders little below 400 though
[2016-01-20 19:23:25] thehawthorne : lets see if they get hit
[2016-01-20 20:24:56] DareDevil : 24H is rather high compared to XBX index
[2016-01-20 20:25:48] habibi : high is when 24h is higher than china :p
[2016-01-20 20:26:48] zanza : or when it was 70 points higher than spot in November :)
[2016-01-20 20:27:35] habibi : pretty expensive buys
[2016-01-20 20:27:55] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 100 @ 410.91
[2016-01-20 20:29:06] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 278 @ 410.80

[2016-01-20 20:33:45] DareDevil : there we go again
[2016-01-20 20:34:15] Swedishnut : crazy intra day swings on stocks
[2016-01-20 20:34:21] DareDevil : yeah sure is
[2016-01-20 20:34:53] DareDevil : xbx is 408.17, 24H is 410.39...will level out soon I think, especially since XBX is only dropping if I look at order book
[2016-01-20 20:36:19] DareDevil : ouch
[2016-01-20 20:36:24] zanza : the M16 back up to 580
[2016-01-20 20:36:36] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 5 @ 410.39
[2016-01-20 20:37:00] habibi : zanza: did u buy that 20 $ premium?
[2016-01-20 20:42:16] zanza : nah, im waiting for about 480 before i enter M16
[2016-01-20 20:42:19] zanza : 480 spot
[2016-01-20 20:42:36] zanza : i have no positions open now, just short Yuan
[2016-01-20 20:57:23] DareDevil : volatile market today...now 409.10 sell wall on Bitfinex will get eaten soon...
[2016-01-20 20:59:12] habibi : DareDevil: calm down
[2016-01-20 21:01:30] DareDevil : sorry, just sharing my observations, I'll shush
[2016-01-20 21:03:40] laisee : keep sharing, it's more interesting than traders sledging each other.
[2016-01-20 21:04:03] habibi : k, dont call 100 coins a wall :p
[2016-01-20 21:04:19] DareDevil : habibi...it's 73 now :P
[2016-01-20 21:04:44] DareDevil : anyways, from there up to a bit further is almost no resistance at all at Bitfinex
[2016-01-20 21:04:48] DareDevil : gone btw
[2016-01-20 21:05:31] DareDevil : 72 BTC in one buy
[2016-01-20 21:11:26] DareDevil : anyone here knows why there is so much difference between Chinese exchanges and other?
[2016-01-20 21:11:43] DareDevil : 10+ USD difference in BTC price
[2016-01-20 21:20:28] zanza : caus Yuan
[2016-01-20 21:20:50] zanza : habibi: rofl
[2016-01-20 21:36:47] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 300 @ 410.07
[2016-01-20 21:37:19] rapidtrades : it's getting impossible to get filled on a limit order here
[2016-01-20 21:37:27] DareDevil : major dump
[2016-01-20 21:38:17] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 11836 @ 408.69
[2016-01-20 21:38:27] sleger : rapidtrades: that's what MM are for, just take the liquidity
[2016-01-20 21:39:10] rapidtrades : sleger: u take the ''liquidity'' $1 spread is shit
[2016-01-20 21:39:37] sleger : But my bot needs a new cpu ... :(
[2016-01-20 21:39:47] rapidtrades : I was gonna sell some premium..its was close to $3 now it's 40 cents....nice work
[2016-01-20 21:40:04] sleger : too greedy
[2016-01-20 21:40:25] rapidtrades : like I said, it was $1 spread
[2016-01-20 21:40:29] rapidtrades : still is
[2016-01-20 21:40:53] rapidtrades : plus fees, $1.20
[2016-01-20 21:40:58] cekseh : almost 3$ move on finex, time to fomo dd
[2016-01-20 21:43:04] rapidtrades : trading here is a huge waste of time until liquidity improves...but that prolly wont happen with the current fee sctructure
[2016-01-20 21:45:09] rapidtrades : okc i have 0.03% in and out...here it's 0.15% if u use market both ways...plus contract expires every day
[2016-01-20 21:45:53] rapidtrades : the quanto structure is the only appealing factor for trading here tbh
[2016-01-20 21:47:59] zanza : doesn't OKCoin have much worst clawback ?
[2016-01-20 21:48:12] rapidtrades : nope
[2016-01-20 21:48:40] rapidtrades : but there are a lot of funny games played with LIQs over there
[2016-01-20 21:49:18] rapidtrades : lot of times price will suspiciously rally to a huge LIQ, fill it then fall back down right after
[2016-01-20 21:51:56] zanza : they use market orders for liquidations there I think
[2016-01-20 21:52:33] habibi : dont they give u the rest from liq i there is any?
[2016-01-20 21:54:57] rapidtrades : I think it goes to the insurance pool
[2016-01-20 21:57:29] BitMEX_Sam : They don't use market orders for liquidations
[2016-01-20 21:57:31] habibi : btw rapidtrades found futures without clawback :p
[2016-01-20 22:01:23] rapidtrades : I single-handedly narrowed the spread to 3 cents...ur welcome
[2016-01-20 22:02:10] habibi : rapidtrades: check cryptofacilities system
[2016-01-20 22:02:29] rapidtrades : what are the fees
[2016-01-20 22:02:44] laisee : big spreads, last I looked.
[2016-01-20 22:02:58] rapidtrades : then there's no point
[2016-01-20 22:04:01] laisee : take look, maybe better now
[2016-01-20 22:04:24] sleger : XBU has no DPE
[2016-01-20 22:04:32] Swedishnut : if oil keeps the correlation to US SP then would it not open tomorrow X% lower IF oil stays below 28$ WTI?
[2016-01-20 22:04:33] sleger : as long as bitmex has enough funds to cover it that is...
[2016-01-20 22:32:42] rapidtrades : Swedishnut: what
[2016-01-20 22:35:15] Swedishnut : if you also trade other stuff have you seen the correlation like an equation? So far it has been pretty sound. Meaning if oil slumps like it did today to the lowest in months and months and so did the markets in the US. But they came off the lows breaking from the correlation of oil down so does dow and sp
[2016-01-20 22:36:20] Swedishnut : my question being. Would you guess further stock selling to again reach correlation to oil price tomorrow IF oil stays below 28$
[2016-01-20 22:36:57] rapidtrades : oh I think I know what ur saying...cos stocks bounced up strong today but oil is so-so
[2016-01-20 22:37:44] Swedishnut : si senior!
[2016-01-20 22:37:46] micmix : looked at the price and thought maybe blocksize problem is resolved, but no, no progress :-(
[2016-01-20 22:38:42] rapidtrades : I don't know what the correlation is but it seemed very strange to see all stocks selloff along with oil...I can kinda understand energy stocks but not the whole s&p
[2016-01-20 22:38:59] rapidtrades : so I would expect S&P to bounce stronger then oil
[2016-01-20 22:39:47] rapidtrades : re:correlation I think oil has led in the past few weeks
[2016-01-20 22:40:39] rapidtrades : personally I'm more bullish on s&p then stocks but I only trade forex with real money so my opinion doesn't matter much :)
[2016-01-20 22:43:29] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 1333 @ 410.15
[2016-01-20 22:50:57] Swedishnut : thanks for the input :) Yeah I hear a lot of chatter to keep selling while the older investor articles see it as an opportunity to buy very soon but are holding off for the "best" deal. My parents forwaded me an e-mail from their financial manager pressuring to sell on tuesday or get ready for a long wait possibly to be able to sell in profit from their current holdings. (Most of their buying had been Nov 2015) He even asked again wed after the loss. Could be he wants more stock for himself? IDK much about general stock health other than to me it looks bloated
[2016-01-20 22:51:57] habibi : tldr; ?
[2016-01-20 22:52:30] sleger : More bullish on s&p thAn stocks... Interesting concept rapidtrades
[2016-01-20 22:52:46] rapidtrades : meant oil...
[2016-01-20 22:53:04] rapidtrades : more bullish on s&p then oil
[2016-01-20 22:53:06] Swedishnut : oh.
[2016-01-20 22:53:13] sleger : ThAn
[2016-01-20 22:53:20] rapidtrades : then
[2016-01-20 22:53:28] sleger : No
[2016-01-20 22:53:44] rapidtrades : ur 1 week is up sledger
[2016-01-20 22:53:56] rapidtrades : hence we drop the baller
[2016-01-20 22:53:59] sleger : But grammar never stops
[2016-01-20 22:55:42] Swedishnut : well my family is in trucking too. They had banked on oil over 60$ and laughed at me over Christmas that it would go below 30$. They have over 40+ years monitoring oil prices and clearly were not prepared for the severity in loss of commerce lately and the price of diesel.
[2016-01-20 22:56:53] rapidtrades : Swedishnut: are they losing money with low oil or
[2016-01-20 22:57:17] Swedishnut : yeah they buy fixed price 6 months or a year at a time
[2016-01-20 22:57:50] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 3000 @ 416.15
[2016-01-20 22:58:13] Swedishnut : from the way they laughed at me I am pretty sure they had just renewed at what they believed to be an all time awesome price of 42$ a barrel but I'm the black sheep
[2016-01-20 22:58:32] rapidtrades : Swedishnut: :)
[2016-01-20 22:58:58] rapidtrades : think a lot of us here are or were the black sheep in the family :)
[2016-01-20 23:00:35] Swedishnut : I would have rather they listened to me last January 7th and cashed some of my private stock in for 197K and bought the BTC I had desired at 200$ might have lucked out to snap the 170s on the 11th but right now that would be 2x+ (400k ) and would be much better than the current stock cash out of 127k as it stands now...
[2016-01-20 23:01:27] rapidtrades : Swedishnut: dam that sucks man
[2016-01-20 23:02:41] Swedishnut : but its just another notch on the belt for me as I begged them to buy Nintendo when I was 8, sell a phone book company a year before they finally did for 1/4 the original offering, buying Google @ 75, Tesla at IPO.
[2016-01-20 23:03:13] Swedishnut : its cool I've documented it all when they finally ask why I am cashing in my family stocks etc...
[2016-01-20 23:08:43] rapidtrades : don't put it all in bitcoin :)
[2016-01-20 23:08:58] micmix : are you guys all super long XBT now?
[2016-01-20 23:09:10] rapidtrades : I just shorted some premium
[2016-01-20 23:09:40] Swedishnut : Oh it isn't 240 acres already waiting for me to buggout to if apocalypse.
[2016-01-20 23:11:01] chrisxbt : does the rekt bot still work?
[2016-01-20 23:11:05] Swedishnut : today has been pretty unreal though none the less
[2016-01-20 23:11:17] micmix : chrisxbt: yes
[2016-01-20 23:11:54] tscha : micmix: hey :D yeah you missed quite some action
[2016-01-20 23:12:10] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 187 @ 423.35
[2016-01-20 23:12:18] tscha : micmix: pboc announcement if you haven't heard it
[2016-01-20 23:13:22] MrJ1m : wwut?
[2016-01-20 23:13:26] micmix : hi tscha, yeah, reading about it. not sure why would bitcoin rally on government crypto
[2016-01-20 23:13:31] Akaiapc40 : this time...opened & already +136,40...lol
[2016-01-20 23:14:02] rapidtrades : micmix: cos there's a lot of stupid ppl trading btc...if u haven't figured it out yet
[2016-01-20 23:14:22] tscha : micmix: me neither. but I wasn't sure why bitcoin suffered at classic announcement either :D
[2016-01-20 23:15:10] micmix : well I guess if the trend is up, it's up, doesn't matter war or famine
[2016-01-20 23:15:28] tscha : long-term this might actually mean that China is more likely to ban bitcoin IMHO since it will issue an opposing crypto
[2016-01-20 23:15:40] tscha : but who cares, just hop on the train... choo choo
[2016-01-20 23:15:56] micmix : I'm not complaining, took some profit from my XBTH16 long
[2016-01-20 23:16:04] rapidtrades : they prolly wont issue shit...it's China after alll
[2016-01-20 23:16:10] Akaiapc40 : tscha: on board!
[2016-01-20 23:16:10] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 3749 @ 426.19
[2016-01-20 23:16:13] rapidtrades : they talk a big game and don't do antyhing

[2016-01-20 23:30:10] Akaiapc40 : up again?
[2016-01-20 23:30:35] rapidtrades : we're not going anywhere...flat or down from here
[2016-01-20 23:31:11] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 100 @ 417.33
[2016-01-20 23:32:49] tscha : DPE 0%, good job BitMEX_Sam ?
[2016-01-20 23:33:38] justinlooking : 428 r u fuckin kidding me
[2016-01-20 23:35:24] rapidtrades : it's all fun and games until the big dick of the market enters ur behind
[2016-01-20 23:40:33] zanza : were you short rapidtrades?
[2016-01-20 23:41:05] rapidtrades : yeah im still short
[2016-01-20 23:41:51] justinlooking : had to be a fat finger on okc...
[2016-01-20 23:41:52] zanza : how it was just an arb
[2016-01-20 23:41:57] zanza : hope*
[2016-01-20 23:42:08] rapidtrades : no? I went naked short below 400
[2016-01-20 23:42:46] BitMEX_Arthur : sleger: you asked why quanto
[2016-01-20 23:42:59] rapidtrades : welcome CEO
[2016-01-20 23:43:09] rapidtrades : thoughts on the market?
[2016-01-20 23:43:34] tscha : hey arthur, would be nice if you could clear something up
[2016-01-20 23:43:44] BitMEX_Arthur : for specs it is better because of the infinite upside and limited downside of going long bitcoin
[2016-01-20 23:44:18] BitMEX_Arthur : and with the high leverage and USD gamma leads to a more volatile market which traders and arb guys like
[2016-01-20 23:45:29] tscha : BitMEX_Arthur: remember the sudden drop from 450 to ~415 at beginning of January? Right after the sudden move, long-term XBTs were clearly above fair price, because fair price on bitmex follows spot directly and long-terms expected a possible retracement since the basic outlook was quite stable. In situations like these (sudden movement + stable outlook), long terms are kinda laggish and don't follow spot in full extend immediately. Sleger on the other hand said (and I quote him here) "that doesnt make any sense. Spot is spot, it is 'correct'" and "that was only due to illiquidity since these contracts only exist here and are highly illiquid". Could you please clear this up since some users read slegers statements and got kinda misinformed. thanks :)
[2016-01-20 23:46:58] rapidtrades : I would've read that if it didn't say tscha on top...
[2016-01-20 23:47:17] justinlooking : hey rapidtrades u still trading from a kindle paperwhite?
[2016-01-20 23:47:30] habibi : :D
[2016-01-20 23:47:33] rapidtrades : no?
[2016-01-20 23:47:58] justinlooking : dat experimental browser <3
[2016-01-20 23:48:01] BitMEX_Arthur : so what is the question why futures don't move exactly in line with spot?
[2016-01-20 23:48:14] gouda : because they are the future
[2016-01-20 23:48:27] rapidtrades : shut up cheese
[2016-01-20 23:48:40] gouda : :***(
[2016-01-20 23:48:45] BitMEX_Arthur : F = S * (1 + r*t
[2016-01-20 23:49:07] rapidtrades : gouda: sorry I need to eat....getting grumpy brb folks
[2016-01-20 23:49:13] BitMEX_Arthur : F = S * (1 + r*t)
[2016-01-20 23:49:14] gouda : lol its all good
[2016-01-20 23:49:22] BitMEX_Arthur : rt is time value
[2016-01-20 23:49:24] chrisxbt : one thing also is to understand why futures even follow spot, because they eventually get settled at spot.
[2016-01-20 23:49:31] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 300 @ 422.44
[2016-01-20 23:49:38] BitMEX_Arthur : the longer the maturity the more time value
[2016-01-20 23:49:52] BitMEX_Arthur : and that is why they are sticky
[2016-01-20 23:50:10] BitMEX_Arthur : also the more spot moves the more valuable a quanta future is because it is a future volatility play
[2016-01-21 00:07:53] tscha : BitMEX_Arthur: yes. that is correct. the my point though is: suppose at time t_0, spot starts at x and we have a bullish/stable movement to some point higher x. then a sudden drop to y<x occurs at t_1. my point is that the futures won't have lost as much value as they would have if we we had had a slow market decrease from x at t_0 to y at t_1, because as an immediate reaction, market includes a *possible* retracement in the valuation
[2016-01-21 00:08:43] tscha : be it because of behavourial biases or something else
[2016-01-21 00:19:12] j8 : it's the implied volatility moreso than the possibility of retracement. the basis should expand on a volatile move upwards too, by your argument it would contract
[2016-01-21 00:22:51] tscha : j8: implied volatility is a factor too, indeed. however, I didn't say that for an opposite scenario, we get opposite results. in your case it would be pretty clear it wouldn't contract.
[2016-01-21 00:24:27] BitMEX_Arthur : tscha: Over a very short time frame anything is possible
[2016-01-21 00:25:38] tscha : j8: furthermore, "implied volatility" is not so much different from "expect possible retracements" :D
[2016-01-21 00:26:45] justinlooking : noob question, does a perfect trend have zero volatility?
[2016-01-21 00:27:01] j8 : thats true, anyway the premium of quanto over inverse should be basically just implied volatility, the inverse would also price in whatever expected moves
[2016-01-21 00:28:04] j8 : justinlooking: yes a perfect exponential trend
[2016-01-21 00:28:07] tscha : j8: the term "implied volatility" actually is the answer to the question I am asking
[2016-01-21 00:28:52] justinlooking : j8: thanks. i shall verify and report back when less drunk ;)
[2016-01-21 00:30:38] j8 : the trend is the mean of log-returns. the volatility is the standard deviation
[2016-01-21 00:31:58] tscha : justinlooking: haha, haven't you left that island last week?
[2016-01-21 00:32:02] j8 : but normally the standard dev is much greater than the mean
[2016-01-21 00:32:55] chrisxbt : how can there be 162 bots
[2016-01-21 00:33:18] chrisxbt : what does that # mean
[2016-01-21 00:33:30] habibi : every standalone connection to api is 1 "bot" so price checkers as well
[2016-01-21 00:34:06] chrisxbt : users = logged in?
[2016-01-21 00:34:20] habibi : probally, not quite sure
[2016-01-21 00:34:33] habibi : coz sometimes its spikes
[2016-01-21 00:36:44] j8 : tscha: have you seen joequant's magic formula for pricing quanto's?
[2016-01-21 00:36:58] tscha : j8: no but I like joequant :D
[2016-01-21 00:37:29] j8 : https://bitquant.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/magic-formula-for-xbt-and-xbu-futures/
[2016-01-21 00:37:37] j8 : yeah he knows his stuff
[2016-01-21 00:40:13] j8 : i ran the numbers a couple days ago for `XBTH16` and `XBTM16` and it was very close to where they were being quoted
[2016-01-21 00:40:48] j8 : using the 30-day historical volatility
[2016-01-21 00:41:11] j8 : and the premium from okc's quarterly
[2016-01-21 00:41:32] justinlooking : tscha: i'm back home agian, and it's cold so drinking to keep warm :)
[2016-01-21 00:46:46] rapidtrades : f*ck man chinese ppl are such gambolers
[2016-01-21 00:48:18] rapidtrades : #Hearnwasright
[2016-01-21 00:53:31] tscha : j8: I will look at it tomorrow, 2 am here. But looks very interesting

[2016-01-21 04:36:52] Swedishnut : no I will be asking them to show me something that has proved to be a better investment since I got in in 2010.
[2016-01-21 04:37:16] Swedishnut : kinda arrogant I know. It will be dished out slowly.

[2016-01-21 04:54:30] Swedishnut : settlement is not something someone gives you through the government it is a set of codes in a system verified by others. if you keep it all away from prying eyes are you not hiding the truth?
[2016-01-21 04:57:27] Swedishnut : or as my parents would have said. "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear"
[2016-01-21 05:04:00] laisee : Swedishnut: most people say about Bitcoin when I mention it : "Is it still around? Didn't it crash in Japan?"
[2016-01-21 05:20:49] Swedishnut : Well most of the Gox stuff has been resolved and was due to US secret actions. thus why hold faith to a dollar by the very folks that sought destruction of the first exchange?
[2016-01-21 05:21:45] Swedishnut : trust me I'll buy again at .10$ a coin.
[2016-01-21 05:45:47] zanza : CEO was arrested :)

[2016-01-21 08:49:25] BitMEX_Wally : Hmmm
[2016-01-21 08:49:31] BitMEX_Wally : Looks like a rounding issue in the frontend
[2016-01-21 08:50:10] trestres : it is not so important ;-) but it is first time that this is happening
[2016-01-21 08:51:46] BitMEX_Wally : Yes this is a bug in the frontend rounding
[2016-01-21 08:51:58] BitMEX_Wally : ETH7D has a very very small tick size so it has exposed the bug
[2016-01-21 08:52:18] trestres : I understand

[2016-01-21 12:03:02] DareDevil : anyone from BitMex care to explain?

[2016-01-21 12:06:30] DareDevil : while it was 414.40 on XBX, shouldn't that be the settlement price?

[2016-01-21 12:23:30] Akaiapc40 : DareDevil: so the settlement price is based on the average of the last 2 hours, following the value of TradeBlock’s XBX Index?

[2016-01-21 12:26:02] j8 : Akaiapc40: 30 minutes for `XBT24H`, 2 hours for the others
[2016-01-21 12:28:53] DareDevil : j8: @Akaiapc40 In FAQ it states 2 hours, where did you read 30 mins?
[2016-01-21 12:30:28] j8 : in the contract specifications: This contract settles on the `.XBT30M` index
[2016-01-21 12:30:45] Akaiapc40 : DareDevil: @j8 ok thanks :)
[2016-01-21 12:30:57] DareDevil : ah I see, thanks @j8

[2016-01-21 12:34:38] Akaiapc40 : and what about fee? why sometimes i pay, and sometimes not?
[2016-01-21 12:35:01] sleger : Akaiapc40: did you read the fee page ?

[2016-01-21 12:46:30] sleger : I dont know, I was long a lot before hearn, I kept and took almost all out at 420 12 hours ago
[2016-01-21 12:47:10] sleger : so my overall delta is almost flat, I do have some trades within that going on, but I dont want to share those
[2016-01-21 12:48:30] justinlooking : fair dos, tnx. feel like no man's land atm
[2016-01-21 12:52:54] laisee : a few small unknowns out there like the block size debate, halving, markets crashing ... and China.
[2016-01-21 12:56:58] Akaiapc40 : sleger: So if i submit a market order that stand in the orderbook until is filled, i'm a maker....otherwise, if i put a bid taking immediately an order from ask, i'm a taker...
[2016-01-21 12:57:03] Akaiapc40 : i'm right?
[2016-01-21 13:00:31] laisee : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_%28exchange%29#Market_order
[2016-01-21 13:01:30] sleger : Akaiapc40: kind of except the first kind of order is not called a market order, but a limit order
[2016-01-21 13:01:42] sleger : but the logic is correct
[2016-01-21 13:02:45] Akaiapc40 : laisee: @sleger ok really thanks for helping!
[2016-01-21 13:58:26] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT7D`: Sell 3 @ 413.63 :punch: :whale:
[2016-01-21 14:17:28] rapidtrades : the shitcoin known as the Euro finally down
[2016-01-21 14:20:20] rapidtrades : so who's dirving the index now? both okc and finex at $414.5

[2016-01-21 14:36:00] mdrn : Platform is very laggy on mobile
[2016-01-21 14:37:17] sleger : not for me
[2016-01-21 15:00:01] Akaiapc40 : mdrn: ....on iPad works great
[2016-01-21 15:02:52] mdrn : Dunno guys, works like shit at my end, after placing a trade it open that confirmation at the top of the page, and after I confirm the trade, it takes 3-5 seconds for trade to be posted
[2016-01-21 15:04:14] mdrn : Anyway, I'm running a custom rom, maybe this is the problem
[2016-01-21 15:05:09] Akaiapc40 : android/ios?
[2016-01-21 15:05:25] mdrn : Android
[2016-01-21 15:06:36] mdrn : I can place the trade, and I think I can even have time to write here in chat before it gets filled
[2016-01-21 15:17:40] Akaiapc40 : probably the GUI is slowed by te fact of custom rom
[2016-01-21 16:03:00] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 101 @ 413.88

[2016-01-21 16:23:59] laisee : ;-)
[2016-01-21 16:32:09] Swedishnut : I'm also watching oil, gold, sp/dow and usd/cad
[2016-01-21 16:36:10] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 555 @ 408.89

[2016-01-21 16:56:11] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 956 @ 405.89
[2016-01-21 17:07:09] sleger : Swedishnut: which market is capitulating ?
[2016-01-21 17:10:06] Swedishnut : Ruble for one. I feel like euro is getting ready to panic soon enough with news on Italy bringing them back into the lime light of negative news in global finance. I think there is about to be a hard down swing on Dow/SP after SP hits 1927 but it is gut and only speculation on intraday
[2016-01-21 17:11:48] Swedishnut : oil is also giving me a headache with news of more glut yet price is above 30$ or just pricked it
[2016-01-21 17:12:15] sleger : so most markets are anti-capitulating right now actually
[2016-01-21 17:15:28] Swedishnut : I'm dyslexic and tend to see the opposite of the trend it is odd and often nott to my benefit when making orders I usually have to triple check I'm going in the true desired direction
[2016-01-21 17:17:45] Akaiapc40 : sleger: man, yu think can break and go down to 404?
[2016-01-21 17:18:23] sleger : i have no opinion right now about price
[2016-01-21 17:20:11] Akaiapc40 : ok, thanks ;)
[2016-01-21 17:29:32] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 400 @ 410.56
[2016-01-21 17:30:52] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 1987 @ 411.51

[2016-01-21 17:56:19] rapidtrades : to short what
[2016-01-21 18:01:30] tscha : rapidtrades: Wheat. What do you think we are trading here? now stop asking and help unloading my tractor!
[2016-01-21 18:28:13] rapidtrades : what an uncomfortable premium...too small to short too big to buy
[2016-01-21 18:46:08] djuan : hey guys ? whats up?
[2016-01-21 18:46:18] DareDevil : not much :P
[2016-01-21 18:47:01] djuan : not even bitcoin? oh dear
[2016-01-21 18:47:42] djuan : do you guys think its will hit 444?
[2016-01-21 18:48:04] habibi : someday probally yes
[2016-01-21 18:48:08] habibi : first 350 imo
[2016-01-21 18:48:16] habibi : or even 333
[2016-01-21 18:48:59] habibi : in whole history of btc every news pump were totally rejected
[2016-01-21 18:49:23] DareDevil : how do you mean?
[2016-01-21 18:50:38] djuan : my trade plan is based on hitting 444 before making its way down. can i share my chart and see if anyone thinks its any good?
[2016-01-21 18:50:43] habibi : microsoft pump/coinbase pump and every others were only pump&dump to previous levels
[2016-01-21 18:51:58] Swedishnut : 444 has been a odd magical number
[2016-01-21 18:52:27] djuan : http://prntscr.com/9t1qzg
[2016-01-21 18:52:39] Swedishnut : 404 first then btc 1010101 might find 444. Need to see global markets continue in the sell off
[2016-01-21 18:53:32] djuan : well I'm still new to trading. so any feed back would be appreciated. ?
[2016-01-21 18:53:39] Swedishnut : chart looks pretty and I want to believe you :) I'm not in the market atm
[2016-01-21 18:53:55] zanza : djuan: watch the Bitmex tutorial videos
[2016-01-21 18:54:49] DareDevil : djuan: I don't have enough knowledge about this to say anything usefull. I only don't think 300 will be broken again, especially not with block reward halving coming up.
[2016-01-21 18:55:14] djuan : zanza: ok. i saw the first lesson by arthur. but haven't had time for 2 and i think three is up next
[2016-01-21 18:55:49] tscha : I like the bottom support from 1998
[2016-01-21 18:57:34] djuan : DareDevil: ok. thanks. will take that into consideration
[2016-01-21 18:58:28] zanza : Russia Ruble pretty rekt
[2016-01-21 19:00:05] habibi : whats the price for 1 usd now?
[2016-01-21 19:07:14] SnackyCoins : hey sam are you around? i have noticed a change in UI behavior, not sure if intentional or not
[2016-01-21 19:08:53] BitMEX_Sam : Hey SnackyCoins, what's up?
[2016-01-21 19:10:53] SnackyCoins : i am using 0.10 grouping on the orderbook. If i wanted to be a taker of whatever was at the front of the book previously, i was able to fill that order using the price that was displayed as the best ask/bid. Now, if i click that price and place the order, i am instead placed at the front of the book on my side instead of crossing the spread
[2016-01-21 19:11:08] habibi : same with 1.00 grouping
[2016-01-21 19:11:34] BitMEX_Sam : I see, let me look into it
[2016-01-21 19:12:43] SnackyCoins : i think this came about the same time as i lost sound previously, if that helps look through revisions
[2016-01-21 19:15:52] BitMEX_Sam : SnackyCoins: Thanks for the report, have already found it and fixed - update coming shortly
[2016-01-21 19:16:17] SnackyCoins : Amazing, thank you :)
[2016-01-21 19:22:23] DareDevil : hmmmm...I have an open position of Size 0...how is that even possible :S
[2016-01-21 19:25:04] DareDevil : now it's gone
[2016-01-21 19:32:35] BitMEX_Sam : DareDevil: When you have an open order, we create a position in your list so you can see some relevant information, add margin, or switch between isolated and cross margin
[2016-01-21 19:51:36] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 3 @ 411.54 :punch: :whale:
[2016-01-21 19:54:13] Swedishnut : Soros is saying we are about to repeat 2008 if not worse
[2016-01-21 20:06:53] tscha : I fully agree.
[2016-01-21 20:07:15] tscha : Right after 2008 everybody said banks and investors need to stop using overcomplicated instruments too many don't understand (CDOs). right now, we have the same problem with synthetic ETFs
[2016-01-21 20:07:18] BitMEX_Sam : SnackyCoins: Issue is fixed, thanks for letting me know
[2016-01-21 20:07:40] tscha : too much contagion risk not modeled properly
[2016-01-21 20:08:59] Swedishnut : Soros is really a pragmatic thinker I like it.
[2016-01-21 20:09:02] tscha : banks just shift off their garbage to subsidiaries they create and sell the junk via synthetic etfs
[2016-01-21 20:09:18] Swedishnut : I'm watching it on http://www.bloomberg.com/live if your interested
[2016-01-21 20:09:50] Swedishnut : I agree we need to unveil the junk and have a fire sale until only truthful assets remain
[2016-01-21 20:21:07] tscha : "Donald Trump is doing the work of ISIS" (c) Soros
[2016-01-21 20:21:36] djuan : i agree @tscha he is insane
[2016-01-21 20:22:59] tscha : Soros looks and talks like a very old man but his mind still appears fresh.
[2016-01-21 20:26:46] Swedishnut : nah he folled up with reasoning simply Trump strike the fear of death by the hands of masked men IF he is not elected. Thus dangling death if you don't vote for me and doing a bang up job at it too.
[2016-01-21 20:27:15] habibi : yea everyone who is against accepting imigrants is working for isis but if u look closely, now not only Poland/Hungary but Germany/France/Scandinavia's country are changing their politics abotu that
[2016-01-21 20:29:15] sleger : reading the trollbox has become like reading a poorly written summary of zerohedge
[2016-01-21 20:31:30] tscha : habibi: it's one thing to accept immigrants, but another thing to let everybody in without any backgroundchecks, border control, plans about immigration/employment.etc..
[2016-01-21 20:32:27] tscha : Accepting refugees is a no-brainer and mandatory. I am also pro-imigrants, but it needs to be done in an orderly manner.
