This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2015-04-09 08:16:52] BitMEX_Arthur : let the hype premium rebuild itself
[2015-04-09 08:17:47] BitMEX_Arthur : cause all the hype of 2013 has not come to pass, greater adoption yes but more people selling coins, china just speculates with bitcoin they don't use it to evade capital controls or wealth preservation
[2015-04-09 08:18:00] BitMEX_Arthur : if we had an ETF in the USA then my scenario is busted and we zoom higher
[2015-04-09 08:18:07] BitMEX_Arthur : but until that point we are going down down down
[2015-04-09 08:18:42] BitMEX_Arthur : or if some sovereign collapse leads people to use Bitcoin to evade capital controls in Europe
[2015-04-09 08:18:52] BitMEX_Arthur : but i think Europe muddles through for another year or two
[2015-04-09 08:19:08] gaoMex : I see. If you look at the hash rate, it is still going up but the rate of increase has been going down though. At times, it is relatively flat.
[2015-04-09 08:19:27] BitMEX_Arthur : unless u are a mega miner u can't make money mining
[2015-04-09 08:19:35] BitMEX_Arthur : but the mega miners are still making too much money
[2015-04-09 08:19:39] BitMEX_Arthur : in an economic sense
[2015-04-09 08:19:47] BitMEX_Arthur : for just turning some computers on and using electricity
[2015-04-09 08:20:47] gaoMex : I have a different perspective.
[2015-04-09 08:22:38] gaoMex : If you compare the charts from the last rally and Mar 2013, it is interesting to observe how similar they are
[2015-04-09 08:23:49] gaoMex : So assuming 166 is the lowest point, it may still be one year before we see the next rally.
[2015-04-09 08:24:10] gaoMex : Until then, the price will increase slowly but steadily.
[2015-04-09 08:24:24] BitMEX_Arthur : i agree not until 2016 do we start to see a sustained rally
[2015-04-09 08:24:30] BitMEX_Arthur : i doubt we go much above $300 this year
[2015-04-09 08:26:37] gaoMex : I do not understand one thing though.
[2015-04-09 08:26:54] gaoMex : Why is it that the rally is always a spike?
[2015-04-09 08:27:21] BitMEX_Arthur : greed
[2015-04-09 08:27:28] gaoMex : It is as if someone or everyone is rushing in to buy all they can at the same time.
[2015-04-09 08:27:31] BitMEX_Arthur : Bitcoin is still a collection of a bunch of gamblers
[2015-04-09 08:27:56] BitMEX_Arthur : u have to be a extreme risk taker to get involved in something that claims to upend modern finance
[2015-04-09 08:28:03] BitMEX_Arthur : given all the road blocks that are in its place
[2015-04-09 08:28:31] BitMEX_Arthur : the generation of people involved mostly missed the dot com bubble cause they were too young
[2015-04-09 08:28:46] BitMEX_Arthur : it's their chance to get in on another transformative tech boom
[2015-04-09 08:29:26] gaoMex : But greed is applicable to other things as well, stocks, commodities, and so on...
[2015-04-09 08:29:50] gaoMex : Yet, when these things rally, they don't spike like bitcoin.
[2015-04-09 08:30:26] gaoMex : Good example is China stock market right now
[2015-04-09 08:30:34] BitMEX_Arthur : China is different imo
[2015-04-09 08:30:42] BitMEX_Arthur : and they are just getting started
[2015-04-09 08:30:51] BitMEX_Arthur : market will be multiples of where it is now in 1-2 years
[2015-04-09 08:31:02] BitMEX_Arthur : as the PBOC reduces interest rates
[2015-04-09 08:31:11] BitMEX_Arthur : to export deflation outside of its boarders
[2015-04-09 08:31:21] BitMEX_Arthur : just as the US and EU have done for the past 6 years
[2015-04-09 08:32:13] BitMEX_Arthur : my friend was telling me that southbound quota for the stock connect was full for the first time
[2015-04-09 08:32:15] BitMEX_Arthur : i think yesterday
[2015-04-09 08:32:22] BitMEX_Arthur : HSCEI is ripping higher
[2015-04-09 08:32:47] gaoMex : Yes, it is going up by more than 3% now
[2015-04-09 08:33:07] gaoMex : arbitrage, the media says.
[2015-04-09 08:33:33] BitMEX_Arthur : i reckon a lot of these newly printed RMB will make their way back to HK & SG property
[2015-04-09 08:33:39] BitMEX_Arthur : SG property has gotten a lot cheaper lately
[2015-04-09 08:35:13] gaoMex : SG inter-bank rate has been rising since last Nov.
[2015-04-09 08:35:32] gaoMex : From 0.4% to now 1.02%
[2015-04-09 08:35:33] BitMEX_Arthur : interesting i though the MAS was trying to weaken the currency
[2015-04-09 08:35:44] BitMEX_Arthur : do most people have adjustable rate mortgages
[2015-04-09 08:35:51] BitMEX_Arthur : tied to SIBOR?
[2015-04-09 08:35:56] gaoMex : Yes.
[2015-04-09 08:36:03] BitMEX_Arthur : so must be some pain going around
[2015-04-09 08:36:29] BitMEX_Arthur : cause i imagine a lot of people took a lot of leverage on these condos
[2015-04-09 08:37:01] gaoMex : You are right. the middle class will suffer.
[2015-04-09 08:37:35] BitMEX_Arthur : when i go around orchard and somerset area at nigh 2/3 of the buildings have no lights on
[2015-04-09 08:37:40] BitMEX_Arthur : massive glut of luxury condos
[2015-04-09 08:39:10] gaoMex : Looks like SIBOR will continue rising, not a good time to borrow from SG banks right now. :)
[2015-04-09 08:39:45] BitMEX_Arthur : y is it rising, MAS wants to weaken the currency strange to let rates rise
[2015-04-09 08:41:38] gaoMex : well... officially, SIBOR is not set by MAS, SIBOR is set by the banks in SG. MAS control monetary policy by SGD exchange rate.
[2015-04-09 08:42:31] gaoMex : unofficially, maybe MAS sees things coming and they want to prepare themselves beforehand.
[2015-04-09 08:44:48] BitMEX_Arthur : yea
[2015-04-09 12:16:08] gaoMex : Any admin?
[2015-04-09 12:16:12] BitMEX_Arthur : hi
[2015-04-09 12:16:16] BitMEX_Arthur : how can i help
[2015-04-09 12:16:56] gaoMex : Just to confirm - If I anticipate BTC price to go up, I should buy quanto right?
[2015-04-09 12:17:40] BitMEX_Arthur : If the premium was 0 i would day definitely yes, but you have to take into account that you pay above spot and that premium decays over time until maturity
[2015-04-09 12:18:15] BitMEX_Arthur : so the longer it takes for the price to move upwards the more it has to move for you to make a profit
[2015-04-09 12:18:57] BitMEX_Arthur : if you look in the references section we have a `XBT Pricing` spreadsheet
[2015-04-09 12:19:04] BitMEX_Arthur : it should help with your decision making
[2015-04-09 12:19:09] gaoMex : Let me try to be more specific, between quanto and inverse, I should choose quanto right?
[2015-04-09 12:19:26] BitMEX_Arthur : if you are going long yes in a general sense you should go long quanto
[2015-04-09 12:20:17] gaoMex : roger. I will proceed with the assumption that 166 was the lowest point. :)
[2015-04-09 12:22:52] gaoMex : Sorry, I can't find the quanto contract for Jun.
[2015-04-09 12:23:06] BitMEX_Arthur : there isn't one
[2015-04-09 12:23:11] BitMEX_Arthur : only `XBTJ15`
[2015-04-09 12:23:43] gaoMex : Any reason why?
[2015-04-09 12:24:06] BitMEX_Arthur : we want to concentrate liquidity in one contract for XBT series
[2015-04-09 12:25:04] gaoMex : I see. Oh well... :)
[2015-04-09 12:25:54] gaoMex : It's ok if you are not comfortable to answer the next question...
[2015-04-09 12:26:36] gaoMex : Would you recommend a platform that offers 3 months quanto contract?
[2015-04-09 12:27:15] BitMEX_Arthur : As far as I know there is no other platform offering that long dated of a quanto contract
[2015-04-09 12:27:54] gaoMex : roger. thanks. :)
[2015-04-11 08:02:29] uiop : lol i wasnt tryin to steal bitmex nick, using nick to trigger a bot to echo bitmex referal shill link for botmaster, in attempt to contribute meaningfully to #bitcointraders spam run ... :)
[2015-04-11 08:18:44] BitMEX_Arthur : lol
[2015-04-12 14:10:28] rhk : BitMEX_Arthur: ditto from me - please can you offer longer dated quantos? one month quanto is pointless - should be at least quarterly.
[2015-04-13 17:57:16] alphabit : I would like longer dated quanto as well
[2015-04-14 00:20:06] BitMEX_Arthur : We hear you guys, we are having internal discussions now about brining back possibly `XBTM15`
[2015-04-14 04:50:08] joequant : FYI, I've come up with a magic formula to relate XBT and XBU future prices.
[2015-04-14 04:50:11] joequant : https://bitquant.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/magic-formula-for-xbt-and-xbu-futures/
[2015-04-14 04:50:16] joequant : Use at your own risk.
[2015-04-14 04:51:47] joequant : I'm going to pull in empirical data to see if the formula holds.
[2015-04-14 05:50:14] BitMEX_Arthur : Awesome I will check this out today
[2015-04-14 06:39:35] BitMEX_Arthur : joequant: so your XBU coefficient is the gamma
[2015-04-14 06:59:23] joequant : I think it works out that way.
[2015-04-14 06:59:47] BitMEX_Arthur : have you done any back testing?
[2015-04-14 07:52:39] joequant : Not yet. This is just me grinding through the equations.
[2015-04-14 07:53:00] BitMEX_Arthur : what does it give you for the current fair gamma/
[2015-04-14 07:54:29] joequant : Haven't calculated the greeks yet.
[2015-04-14 07:54:54] joequant : Remember that I'm a theorist. :-) I'm not used to handling real data.
[2015-04-14 07:55:01] joequant : Will do some backtesting.
[2015-04-14 07:55:16] BitMEX_Arthur : ur a TRADER now lol
[2015-04-14 07:58:36] joequant : Yup. I'm a trader. I'm not necessarily a *good* trader.
[2015-04-14 08:18:47] rhk : while we're in the spirit if sharing, I published an excel plugin. you can grab it here: https://github.com/stevechk/BitMexExcel/releases
[2015-04-14 08:19:20] rhk : you can grab the compiled .xll file directly from github
[2015-04-14 08:20:18] rhk : or build from source (c#) if you are into that kind of thing
[2015-04-14 09:02:15] rhk : supports live market data via RTD and download of instrument parameters. open a ticket on github if you have any issues
[2015-04-14 11:03:44] goat : I crushed it on that short yesterday :D
[2015-04-14 11:04:18] goat : i got in a 235.14 on that last little pump before the drop
[2015-04-14 11:04:27] goat : (on bfx, using bitmex to hedge)
[2015-04-14 11:04:54] goat : i only got in 1/3 of a position before it dropped, but still was great
[2015-04-14 11:31:50] BitMEX_Arthur : :)
[2015-04-14 22:54:17] BitMEX_Arthur : morning traders
[2015-04-14 23:40:21] goat : good morning :D
[2015-04-14 23:40:28] goat : not too many good shorting opportunities today :(
[2015-04-14 23:40:46] goat : im not comfortable switching up my strategy until these bfx longs are flushed out
[2015-04-14 23:43:31] BitMEX_Arthur : i think we are due for a nice share squeeze
[2015-04-14 23:46:05] goat : share = short?
[2015-04-14 23:46:10] goat : or long squeeze
[2015-04-14 23:55:05] BitMEX_Arthur : short
[2015-04-14 23:55:05] BitMEX_Arthur : sorry
[2015-04-15 00:26:32] gaoMex : goat: Are you the same goat in bitcointalk?
[2015-04-15 02:07:59] goat : gaoMex: no
[2015-04-15 05:29:51] germanjew : any updates on the potential cds/eds instruments?
[2015-04-15 05:30:17] BitMEX_Arthur : germanjew: In development, we will be making some improvements to `BVOL` first
[2015-04-15 05:30:29] BitMEX_Arthur : and possibly listing a DASH/XBT futures contract
[2015-04-15 05:31:09] germanjew : thanks :)
[2015-04-15 09:52:22] mlg5867 : if you're considering DASH may want to consider ETH, i think it's going to launch with a $50m+ market cap
[2015-04-15 09:56:55] BitMEX_Arthur : yeah whenever they get around to launching
[2015-04-15 09:56:57] BitMEX_Arthur : we will def consider
[2015-04-15 10:02:09] VanCleef : Hello
[2015-04-15 10:02:21] BitMEX_Arthur : VanCleef: Welcome
[2015-04-15 10:02:37] VanCleef : Thanks Arthur
[2015-04-15 10:03:01] VanCleef : how can i use a futures contract on bitmex to hedge my risk as a bitcoin remittance company?
[2015-04-15 10:03:36] BitMEX_Arthur : Do you hold Bitcoin for a period of time before you sell on a spot market?
[2015-04-15 10:03:39] VanCleef : i dont quite get why i would use a futures contract instead of just doing market sells to lock in my fiat profits
[2015-04-15 10:04:16] BitMEX_Arthur : What currency pairs are you using Bitcoin to move between?
[2015-04-15 10:04:47] VanCleef : usually i like to flush my bitcoin straight away for usd to lock in my 1% profit
[2015-04-15 10:05:36] VanCleef : but im curious if futures contract is better for me?
[2015-04-15 10:06:16] BitMEX_Arthur : From what country to what country are you remitting fiat money?
[2015-04-15 10:06:23] BitMEX_Arthur : generally
[2015-04-15 10:07:37] VanCleef : i can cash out my bitcoin on a local exchange where i love, usually at 1% profit, within a day
[2015-04-15 10:07:46] VanCleef : live*
[2015-04-15 10:08:27] BitMEX_Arthur : Between the time you buy Bitcoin in country A and you cash out in country B how long are you holding Bitcoin?
[2015-04-15 10:08:37] BitMEX_Arthur : in terms of time?
[2015-04-15 10:09:42] VanCleef : usually customer will buy the bitcoin, remit to me at my price, which is usually at 1% below market price, then i just sell that bitcoin to an exchange
[2015-04-15 10:09:50] VanCleef : so maybe holding bitcoin for like an hour?
[2015-04-15 10:10:02] VanCleef : usually less
[2015-04-15 10:10:52] BitMEX_Arthur : right now the price volatility hasn't been that great, but when Bitcoin is really moving you could lose 1% within that hour time frame
[2015-04-15 10:11:11] BitMEX_Arthur : we have a futures contract `XBU24H` that expires every 24hours so it tracks spot very closely
[2015-04-15 10:11:38] VanCleef : so should i open a long or open a short to hedge?
[2015-04-15 10:11:51] BitMEX_Arthur : You can lock in the USD price for a couple hours by selling the futures contract, then buy them back once you cash out on your local exchange
[2015-04-15 10:12:24] BitMEX_Arthur : the fees are very cheap for this contract 0.03%
[2015-04-15 10:13:25] VanCleef : hmm ok so i would need a foat on bitmex to do this?
[2015-04-15 10:13:30] VanCleef : float
[2015-04-15 10:14:02] BitMEX_Arthur : Yes a small float on BitMEX to manage your hedging
[2015-04-15 10:22:22] BitMEX_Arthur : VanCleef: Any other questions?
[2015-04-15 23:20:39] BitMEX_Arthur : Morning traders
[2015-04-16 23:18:56] BitMEX_Arthur : Aloha
[2015-04-17 01:38:23] goat : what up
[2015-04-17 01:38:44] BitMEX_Arthur : are you going to the NY conference?
[2015-04-17 08:51:03] BitWise : This OKC thing might get you some new customers
[2015-04-17 08:51:20] BitMEX_Arthur : Yeah they could be screwed
[2015-04-17 08:51:26] BitMEX_Arthur : depending on if anyone got their money out who was up
[2015-04-17 08:52:08] BitWise : We still got some funds in, but I think that will be released
[2015-04-17 08:52:42] BitWise : Well, lets hope this will turn up the volume
[2015-04-17 08:52:50] BitMEX_Arthur : Yes
[2015-04-17 08:52:50] BitMEX_Arthur : :)
[2015-04-17 08:53:36] BitWise : As I said on tv, this is the better exchange for futures, for sure
[2015-04-17 08:54:01] BitMEX_Arthur : can you share a link to that clip
[2015-04-17 08:54:40] BitWise : Euh, I don't know how, but will try
[2015-04-17 08:54:50] BitMEX_Arthur : thanks
[2015-04-17 08:57:33] BitWise : Should i take a screenshot or something?
[2015-04-17 08:58:01] BitMEX_Arthur : Did you record your tv interview?
[2015-04-17 08:58:23] BitWise : No, but it still on
[2015-04-17 08:58:42] BitWise : not sure how to do that
[2015-04-17 08:58:50] BitMEX_Arthur : what's the tv channel
[2015-04-17 08:58:53] BitMEX_Arthur : or online channel
[2015-04-17 08:59:45] BitWise : online
[2015-04-17 09:00:42] BitWise : It's not tv like in television ;-)
[2015-04-17 09:00:57] BitWise : it's tv like trading view
[2015-04-17 09:01:17] BitMEX_Arthur : ah
[2015-04-17 09:01:17] BitMEX_Arthur : ok
[2015-04-17 09:01:28] BitMEX_Arthur : now it all makes sense
[2015-04-17 09:04:57] BitWise : I took a clip of it btw, how can i post it?
[2015-04-17 09:08:29] BitWise : Would you like exposure on a dutch (financial) news channel?
[2015-04-17 09:08:51] BitMEX_Arthur : Yes how can we make that happen
[2015-04-17 09:09:05] BitMEX_Arthur : Send the clip to Arthur@BitMEX.com
[2015-04-17 09:09:20] BitWise : The ceo is my neighbour
[2015-04-17 09:09:27] BitMEX_Arthur : Haha
[2015-04-17 09:09:56] BitWise : I could ask, if you have some real news
[2015-04-17 09:11:36] BitMEX_Arthur : Ill keep that in mind when I feel we have something worthy
[2015-04-17 09:26:00] BitWise : Mail send
[2015-04-17 11:51:30] goat : BitMEX_Arthur: im not sure if im going to the ny conference (were you asking me)?
[2015-04-17 11:51:36] goat : and which one? inside bitcoins?
[2015-04-17 11:51:42] goat : there are a bunch coming up i think
[2015-04-17 11:52:02] goat : i wanted to go see the OTC thing at coinsetter last night but was working out when they sent the reminder email
[2015-04-17 17:03:41] BitMEX_Sam : goat: Yeah, Arthur will be at Inside Bitcoins in NY in just a few weeks
[2015-04-17 17:03:47] BitMEX_Sam : I'll be at the one in Chicago in July
[2015-04-17 18:17:43] goat : Nice, I would like to head to one... i have been trying to make summer plans the last few weeks but haven't finalized anything yet
[2015-04-17 22:21:39] VanCleef : hi BitMex_Arthur are you around?
[2015-04-17 22:21:39] VanCleef : anyone have a link to the blog post bitmex put out about trading on localbitcoin and using bitmex to hedge...or something
[2015-04-17 22:24:35] BitMEX_Sam : Looks like the IRC bot got a little backed up, these are older messages.
[2015-04-17 22:24:52] BitMEX_Sam : VanCleef: You might be thinking of https://blog.bitmex.com/bitmex-for-commercial-hedgers/ or https://blog.bitmex.com/bitmex-hosts-bitcoin-arbitrage-webinar/
[2015-04-17 23:33:00] BitMEX_Arthur : VanCleef: that was in our newsletter, what is your email address and I can fwd to you
[2015-04-18 02:18:13] uiop : <BitMEX_Chat> (joequant): https://bitquant.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/magic-formula-for-xbt-and-xbu-futures/
[2015-04-18 02:19:06] uiop : also you could just do some multivariate regression with settlement price, and whatever other vars you want
[2015-04-18 02:19:40] uiop : or replace settlement price with tob or whatever
[2015-04-18 02:19:54] BitMEX_Arthur : or monte carlo simulation
[2015-04-18 02:20:06] BitMEX_Arthur : and see if the gamma premium is zero pnl expected value
[2015-04-18 02:20:11] BitMEX_Arthur : over the range of possibilities
[2015-04-18 02:20:15] uiop : a closed form solution seems too good to be true
[2015-04-18 02:21:19] uiop : BitMEX_Arthur: oh cool, i'll have googlemachine gamma premium pnl expectation...
[2015-04-18 02:21:28] uiop : *have to goo...
[2015-04-18 02:21:45] BitMEX_Arthur : check out the new excel plugin
[2015-04-18 02:22:05] BitMEX_Arthur : real time pricing
[2015-04-18 02:22:08] BitMEX_Arthur : into spreadsheets
[2015-04-18 02:22:10] BitMEX_Arthur : pretty bad ass
[2015-04-18 02:22:22] BitMEX_Arthur : https://www.bitmex.com/app/excelPlugin
[2015-04-18 02:22:24] uiop : o nice
[2015-04-18 02:23:00] uiop : o rad, source and everything
[2015-04-18 02:23:18] BitMEX_Arthur : yeah you can compile yourself if you want or just dl the .xll file
[2015-04-18 02:24:03] uiop : sounds like a perfect code example of an excel plugin that does that with xyz data too
[2015-04-18 02:25:42] uiop : <BitMEX_Chat> (joequant): https://bitquant.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/magic-formula-for-xbt-and-xbu-futures/
[2015-04-18 02:26:00] uiop : o actually youre saying more than i picked up on at first
[2015-04-18 02:26:05] uiop : will checkit
[2015-04-18 09:05:08] kasman5 : That excel file seems to load with a screen full of random characters for me. Anyone got any ideas?
[2015-04-18 10:33:32] BitMEX_Arthur : make sure you have the right file one is for 32-bit one is for 64-bit
[2015-04-18 12:17:36] kasman5 : I realised that :/
[2015-04-18 12:20:26] kasman5 : the example pricing spreadsheet that accompanies the excel add-in. That's not how the excel add-in should look straight away, you actually have to build that yourself?
[2015-04-18 13:13:36] BitMEX_Arthur : Yes you have to build something like that yourself, you can take that and modify
[2015-04-18 13:13:54] BitMEX_Arthur : but the calculations require real time prices from BitMEX so that's where the excel plugin is useful
[2015-04-18 13:26:39] kasman5 : cool, thanks
[2015-04-19 16:58:04] goat : BitMEX_Arthur: whats up man, im going to shoot you an e-mail if thats cool
[2015-04-19 17:03:34] goat : ok i just sent it to info@
[2015-04-19 22:49:04] BitMEX_Arthur : got it
[2015-04-21 00:07:09] BitMEX_Arthur : morning traders, we will be re listing a longer dated XBT contract this friday
[2015-04-21 00:07:15] BitMEX_Arthur : `XBTM15`
[2015-04-21 00:07:20] BitMEX_Arthur : giddy up
[2015-04-21 00:40:39] goat : and here btc goes!
[2015-04-21 00:40:49] goat : 227 looks good for a short again
[2015-04-21 00:41:01] BitMEX_Arthur : yeah
[2015-04-21 00:43:41] goat : gotta wait for bfx data to refresh, the bfx stats page still says almost 28k btc swaps in use
[2015-04-21 00:44:09] goat : if that number doesn't go down i will probably take a much smaller short around 227
[2015-04-21 00:53:03] goat : https://twitter.com/grassfedgoat
[2015-04-21 00:53:17] goat : im putting some of my trades on there, not any scalps though
[2015-04-21 00:54:11] goat : thanks for the follow :D
[2015-04-21 00:54:25] BitMEX_Arthur : grazzin the blockchain lol
[2015-04-21 00:54:39] goat : haha i had to come up with something creative
[2015-04-21 00:54:46] goat : so i tend to make everything goat related
[2015-04-21 00:55:07] goat : ie: "i have to be careful not to fat hoof during times of extra volatility"
[2015-04-21 00:59:39] goat : im gonna take a look through the newsletter tonight, excited to see whats in this one
[2015-04-21 01:00:05] goat : like i said before man (I write them for my own company), newsletters that are constant and effective are no easy task
[2015-04-21 01:00:15] goat : you do a great job with them
[2015-04-21 01:01:15] BitMEX_Arthur : thanks
[2015-04-21 01:02:53] goat : supposedly there is some rumor of a coinbase announcement tomorrow... not sure what it might be about though
[2015-04-21 01:03:11] goat : i haven't heard anything, zoinky said it had something to do with their exchange though
[2015-04-21 01:03:53] BitMEX_Arthur : as we offer more products should be more interesting trading ideas to
[2015-04-21 01:03:56] BitMEX_Arthur : write about
[2015-04-21 01:06:35] goat : yeah, definitely
[2015-04-21 01:06:56] goat : how long are you in NYC for?
[2015-04-21 01:07:11] goat : let me know if you need any restaurant recommendations or anything like that
[2015-04-21 01:07:57] BitMEX_Arthur : i'm in town for a week
[2015-04-21 01:08:01] BitMEX_Arthur : then going home to buffalo for a bit
[2015-04-21 01:08:07] BitMEX_Arthur : then back to hong kong
[2015-04-21 01:08:35] goat : ahh nice, that should be relaxing then
[2015-04-21 01:09:39] BitMEX_Arthur : yeah hopefully it's warm
[2015-04-21 01:09:46] BitMEX_Arthur : i can't take any of that polar vortex shit
[2015-04-21 01:10:05] goat : definitely will be, hopefully the cherry tree blossoms are still open in central park
[2015-04-21 01:10:17] goat : the park is looking absolutely amazing this last week
[2015-04-21 01:11:11] BitMEX_Arthur : awesome
[2015-04-21 01:11:26] BitMEX_Arthur : i was in nyc last march was so cold, couldn't wait to get back to asia
[2015-04-21 01:11:32] BitMEX_Arthur : i like it cold when i'm skiing that's about it
[2015-04-21 01:11:39] goat : yeah, last year was rough
[2015-04-21 01:11:59] goat : the only reason i like the cold is because it forces me to stay inside and get work done
[2015-04-21 01:12:13] goat : so i have like 18 hour work days in the winter and i cut them shorter when its nice out
[2015-04-21 01:13:27] goat : at least it shouldn't frost anymore at night, my gf and I are doing some guerilla gardening in the park this yea
[2015-04-21 01:13:35] goat : we should be planting the tomatoes next weekend
[2015-04-21 01:13:50] BitMEX_Arthur : that's cool
[2015-04-21 01:14:03] goat : it should be fun
[2015-04-21 01:14:22] goat : we found a sick clearing right near a stream so they have water
[2015-04-21 01:14:56] BitMEX_Arthur : they have urban gardening on rooftops here that's about it
[2015-04-21 01:15:09] goat : thats ideal though haha
[2015-04-21 01:15:22] goat : much more sunlight, and helps keep the building cooler
[2015-04-21 01:16:31] goat : growing your own food is so efficient its redic
[2015-04-21 01:17:08] goat : or even going to farmers markets if you can't grow it
[2015-04-21 01:27:55] BitMEX_Arthur : yeah not much of that culture here in hk
[2015-04-21 01:28:02] BitMEX_Arthur : everything is imported and very expensive
[2015-04-21 01:28:12] BitMEX_Arthur : or u go to the wet market which is pretty good
[2015-04-21 01:35:12] goat : im sure its less prevalent, but you can still find opportunities for fresh food at markets if you look hard enough
[2015-04-21 01:35:41] goat : im sure its more expensive in HK, but in NYC i just can't bring myself to pay more money for inferior quality at the supermarket
[2015-04-21 04:41:04] awkirk : Hey Arthur, why is there a Jun Sept Calendar Spread and not an April/May Calendar spread?
[2015-04-21 06:13:02] BitMEX_Arthur : awkirk: we are working on a more intuitive display for calendar spreads
[2015-04-21 06:13:12] BitMEX_Arthur : too many users don't understand them so they don't trade them
[2015-04-21 06:34:48] awkirk : ok - let me know how it goes with the remodelling. Would like to have played the April/May roll this month.
[2015-04-22 00:09:39] goat : 227 crushed
[2015-04-22 00:11:12] goat : full retrace of the april 13 dump, looking to short around 237 if bulls show weakness, otherwise 243 or 256 as next shorting targets
[2015-04-22 00:18:52] BitMEX_Arthur : yeah still sitting on the sidelines here
[2015-04-22 00:39:40] goat : i only had a small long open for today's move, better than nothing though
[2015-04-22 00:39:59] goat : i want to see some of these btc swaps go down on bfx though before im comfortable taking a larger short
[2015-04-22 14:27:50] trading : hi support
[2015-04-22 14:27:58] trading : the api is very unstable
[2015-04-22 14:36:10] cloud : veryyy
[2015-04-22 14:37:38] BitMEX_Sam : We were having some network issues, it should be resolved now
[2015-04-22 15:26:42] Tone : I got a question, is there a way to display your positions in a different order, i have two issues with current set up
[2015-04-22 15:27:11] Tone : I have traded the XBU24H like once months ago and now it is always first on the list with without ever having positions
[2015-04-22 15:27:26] BitMEX_Arthur : and how would you like it set up?
[2015-04-22 15:27:59] Tone : the other issue is that i have positions in 3 different contracts but one of the is all the way at the end so i have to scroll to see it
[2015-04-22 15:28:14] Tone : the ability to hide rows with no positions
[2015-04-22 15:28:34] BitMEX_Arthur : or would you rather they were sorted differently?
[2015-04-22 15:29:44] Tone : sorting would be fine, for me it would be in Ascending order of expirty where Current Qty is > 0
[2015-04-22 15:30:09] Tone : abs(CurrentQty) > 0 :)
[2015-04-22 15:30:21] BitMEX_Arthur : k will take that under advisement
[2015-04-22 16:26:02] Tone : thanks Arthur
[2015-04-23 12:19:35] cloud : Hey guys I was wondering what time withdrawls go through for Pacific time US?
[2015-04-23 12:20:42] BitMEX_Arthur : cloud: Withdrawals are processed every day at 12:00 GMT, PST is GMT - 7, so 5am your time
[2015-04-23 12:21:21] cloud : Had one initiated yesterday, hasnt gone through yet
[2015-04-23 12:21:37] BitMEX_Arthur : Let me check
[2015-04-23 12:22:56] BitMEX_Arthur : We are processing that now, you submitted your withdrawal request after the April 22nd deadline, so it is being processed today, should be done shortly
[2015-04-23 12:23:36] cloud : BitMEX_Arthur: Thanks good sir.
[2015-04-23 12:32:14] awkirk : Hey Arthur, I have a stupid question. The .XBT30M index is that TWAP of last prices or mid prices?
[2015-04-23 12:33:49] BitMEX_Arthur : last prices
[2015-04-23 12:52:47] cengelandreasen : The QR code generator for deposits seems messed up. I wasn't able to scan just now, but then manually generated the code and it scanned right away.
[2015-04-23 12:57:02] cengelandreasen : The one i generated from here that scanned fine: https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/ , the ink is a lot less clustered, maybe that's why, sidebyside: http://prntscr.com/6x7nfx
[2015-04-23 13:06:47] cengelandreasen : Yea I've tried 2 different wallets and both can't scan the QR that is generated on Deposit page
[2015-04-23 14:11:07] BitMEX_Sam : Really.
[2015-04-23 14:11:20] BitMEX_Sam : I've never heard from anyone that they were having problems, cengelandreasen
[2015-04-23 14:11:39] BitMEX_Sam : Were you able to get it to work with another wallet app or scanner? These QR codes are pretty standard
[2015-04-23 14:12:22] BitMEX_Sam : Anyway we use a lot of error checking which is why it looks more cluttered. I'll see what I can do to make it simpler. Thanks a lot for letting us know
[2015-04-23 14:29:20] cengelandreasen : i used Mycelium and Xapo
[2015-04-23 14:29:31] cengelandreasen : both could not scan your QR code, but when i took the addie and generated my own it worked fine
[2015-04-23 14:33:01] cengelandreasen : Xapo just doesn't register it all, Mycelium returns the error " Unrecognized format"
[2015-04-23 14:34:59] cengelandreasen : QR codes from anywhere else work fine with them too
[2015-04-23 15:03:16] BitMEX_Sam : Okay. I'll take a look at it
[2015-04-23 15:35:55] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: If you go back to the deposit page, you should see it fixed
[2015-04-23 15:36:02] BitMEX_Sam : There was a QR code formatting error - thanks for helping me catch it
[2015-04-23 15:36:11] BitMEX_Sam : I've tested with Mycelium and it's working.
[2015-04-23 15:38:23] cengelandreasen : Yep works fine now
[2015-04-23 15:38:36] BitMEX_Sam : Great :) Thanks for bearing with us
[2015-04-23 15:40:00] cengelandreasen : I'm using the API to code an IRC bot to manage account activities directly from text client. Probably nobody but me will get use of it but it's a way i am exploring your system :)
[2015-04-23 15:40:50] BitMEX_Sam : Oh, that's great
[2015-04-23 15:41:11] BitMEX_Sam : We have a very basic chatbot on Freenode #bitmex. Different thing of course
[2015-04-23 15:41:20] BitMEX_Sam : If you have any questions about the API feel free to email me at sam@bitmex.com
[2015-04-23 15:43:08] cengelandreasen : It's quite simple and self explanatory but if I find an error I will alert you
[2015-04-23 15:44:05] cengelandreasen : It's more a personal project so I can just use my bot to manage trades and maybe get some inspiration for a bigger project
[2015-04-23 15:46:12] cengelandreasen : Seems there's some good opportunities to lead on here if there's a lagged reaction to a pump, do you have historical tick data in csv on the XBU24H contract (or any for that matter?)
[2015-04-23 15:46:53] cengelandreasen : I feel like if there's a solid lag which allows for opportunity, then the downside of the bad spread can be easily tolerated for this benefit
[2015-04-23 15:47:03] BitMEX_Sam : Sure, and I think that opportunity does exist
[2015-04-23 15:47:11] cengelandreasen : Can i verify this with some historical data ?
[2015-04-23 15:47:13] BitMEX_Sam : We don't have CSV data but you can grab all of it in JSON from the API and convert it
[2015-04-23 15:47:19] cengelandreasen : yea
[2015-04-23 15:47:23] cengelandreasen : I'll just do that then :) cool
[2015-04-23 15:47:45] BitMEX_Sam : We also have data in bitcoincharts format available at https://www.bitmex.com/api/bitcoincharts/
[2015-04-23 15:48:06] BitMEX_Sam : e.g. https://www.bitmex.com/api/bitcoincharts/XBU24H/trades
[2015-04-23 15:48:13] BitMEX_Sam : Not as flexible but if you already read that format it can be nice
[2015-04-23 15:49:40] BitMEX_Sam : Otherwise try the `quote` endpoint for bucketed bid/ask and price. See e.g. https://www.bitmex.com/api/v1/quote/bucketed?binSize=5m&symbol=XBU24H&count=500&reverse=true
[2015-04-23 15:50:16] BitMEX_Sam : Max row count per call is 500 but you can modify the `start` param and make multiple calls
[2015-04-23 15:51:18] cengelandreasen : lowest binSize interval is 1m ?
[2015-04-23 15:51:58] cengelandreasen : or, "shortest" interval i guess i should say
[2015-04-23 15:52:24] trading : hi
[2015-04-23 15:52:34] trading : anything changed in the API
[2015-04-23 15:53:17] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: Yes, 1m is the shortest
[2015-04-23 15:53:25] BitMEX_Sam : trading: Just bugfixes, are you seeing a change in behavior?
[2015-04-23 15:53:34] trading : cant create new order
[2015-04-23 15:53:40] trading : HTTP error
[2015-04-23 15:54:01] cengelandreasen : Sam, tick data would be optimal to see the lag, which could be <1m.
[2015-04-23 15:54:32] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: You can get individual trades from `/trade`
[2015-04-23 15:54:47] cengelandreasen : Ah that could be a viable substitute
[2015-04-23 15:55:30] BitMEX_Sam : trading: I see your errors
[2015-04-23 15:55:39] BitMEX_Sam : We made an adjustment to the api key scheme to accept signatures on formencoded data
[2015-04-23 15:55:46] BitMEX_Sam : should not have affected you. Investigating
[2015-04-23 15:57:01] cengelandreasen : also FYI, doc says 30s is valid binSize too, but this doesn't work since 1m as you say is the shortest
[2015-04-23 15:57:58] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: Ah thanks. We used to support 30s in an earlier version, docs need cleanup
[2015-04-23 16:09:22] trading : Sam, any luck?
[2015-04-23 16:10:31] cengelandreasen : and for /trade/, startTime, endTime i can only specify a date down to day level, or whats the lowest time unit? DDMM gets me 200 but still null response.. Other standard ones get me 400'd
[2015-04-23 16:11:29] BitMEX_Sam : trading: Did you get my email?
[2015-04-23 16:11:45] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: They are ISO dates
[2015-04-23 16:12:12] trading : Yes, sent a few orders. Still the same
[2015-04-23 16:17:30] cengelandreasen : Sam, got it
[2015-04-23 16:18:49] BitMEX_Sam : trading: Try once more, please
[2015-04-23 16:21:00] BitMEX_Sam : Looks like it's working - apologies for the inconvenience. We will add this to our CI so it can't happen again.
[2015-04-23 16:25:42] cengelandreasen : Sam, does "side" (/trade/) reference the side that was filled, or the side that did the filling?
[2015-04-23 16:35:22] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: It's the side that did the filling. So if a sell order is in place and somebody submits a buy order that matches against it, the `side` will be `Buy`
[2015-04-23 16:35:35] cengelandreasen : ty
[2015-04-23 16:35:38] BitMEX_Sam : So you should expect to see `Buy` prices higher than `Sell` prices in a given time period as users are crossing the spread
[2015-04-23 16:47:25] Rizky : yo just heads up
[2015-04-23 16:47:46] Rizky : looks like the sub-links under Hedger Fee Schedule not working
[2015-04-23 16:47:50] Rizky : here: https://www.bitmex.com/app/fees
[2015-04-23 16:48:18] BitMEX_Sam : Rizky: Ah thanks. The link IDs changed. I'll fix it
[2015-04-23 18:08:40] Tone : hey guys, question
[2015-04-23 18:09:06] Tone : why is XBUJ15 gone from the drop down of maturities?
[2015-04-23 18:09:41] Tone : it shows up when you click on the contract in your positions box but not if you are looking for it in the drop down from the start
[2015-04-23 19:31:51] BitMEX_Sam : Tone: Looking into it
[2015-04-24 00:28:05] awkirk : When do you think you will be able to get XBUJ15 back on the drop down?
[2015-04-24 00:29:10] BitMEX_Arthur : awkirk: working on a fix, to access in the meantime go to `Contract Specifications`, click on `XBUJ15`, then you will see a link to trade the instrument and that will get you to the order book.
[2015-04-24 00:29:40] awkirk : got it - thanks
[2015-04-24 00:30:06] BitMEX_Sam : Yes, it will be back shortly - you can also access it in the ticker, or in the instruments display at the bottom of the trade page
[2015-04-24 01:20:48] goat : longs getting rekt right now, do we make it to 226
[2015-04-24 01:21:13] BitMEX_Arthur : getting rekt where?
[2015-04-24 03:47:57] BitMEX_Sam : Tone: awkirk: `XBUJ15` is now back in the dropdown - thanks for your patience
[2015-04-24 07:06:03] BitMEX_Arthur : `XBTM15` is now live
[2015-04-24 13:11:55] goat : they were on all exchanges last night
[2015-04-24 13:12:04] goat : bfx had like a $10 swing
[2015-04-25 18:42:07] cloud : Anyone from bitmex here in the trollbox
[2015-04-25 18:42:16] BitMEX_Arthur : hi
[2015-04-25 18:42:42] BitMEX_Arthur : how can we help you
[2015-04-25 18:43:30] cloud : So I just have a few comments about some stuff, probably flood the trollbox if I slam it here, Is there an email you guys have I can reach you at?
[2015-04-25 18:43:41] BitMEX_Arthur : support@bitmex.com
[2015-04-25 18:43:54] BitMEX_Arthur : hit us with your feedback we really appreciate user comments
[2015-04-26 10:49:48] jerryd : can you do stop loss orders here?
[2015-04-26 10:51:32] BitMEX_Arthur : no we haven't exposed that feature yet
[2015-04-26 23:00:01] cengelandreasen : 2 confirmations on a small deposit i made and it creited a deposit i made after but not that
[2015-04-26 23:00:11] cengelandreasen : woops, i send email
[2015-04-27 13:07:45] cengelandreasen : would a negative realisedPnl arise from commission or what ?
[2015-04-27 13:07:56] cengelandreasen : for a position that has been opened and not closed
[2015-04-27 13:19:23] BitMEX_Arthur : Yes commissions will show up as part of realised pNL
[2015-04-27 22:22:43] cengelandreasen : ah okay, yea the insurance fee was being applied, forgot about that one
[2015-04-27 23:00:07] cengelandreasen : does it require waiting to next session for realized pnl to be usable in margin?
[2015-04-27 23:04:18] cengelandreasen : because made a profitable trade and at re-entry my margin is less so i cant buy same amount of position
[2015-04-27 23:04:52] cengelandreasen : and the trade history data is all over the place but looks like it shows the positive pnl but not available in margin
[2015-04-27 23:05:26] cengelandreasen : and it's not just because the price is higher ofc :P
[2015-04-27 23:11:47] cengelandreasen : exec buy 223.01, sell 231.50, but net still reduced my margin available
[2015-04-27 23:12:32] cengelandreasen : but i dont see anything about pnl settling per session in ref/faq
[2015-04-27 23:42:29] cengelandreasen : along those lines it would be nice to see an accounting of the margin availability
[2015-04-27 23:51:53] cengelandreasen : sorry to flood trollbox maybe should have sent support email instead :/
[2015-04-28 01:26:26] BitMEX_Sam : cengelandreasen: You have an email
[2015-04-28 01:27:45] cengelandreasen : so unrealised pnl affects available balance not used against maint margin ?
[2015-04-28 01:28:20] cengelandreasen : because if i were to use all the available margin to buy contracts now, that unrealised pnl would then send me negative available margin ?
[2015-04-28 01:28:43] cengelandreasen : rather than debiting against the maintenance margin
[2015-04-28 01:28:44] BitMEX_Sam : Yes, that's true
[2015-04-28 01:28:56] BitMEX_Sam : You can reach negative available margin
[2015-04-28 01:29:09] BitMEX_Sam : You won't be margin called until you reach negative excess margin
[2015-04-28 01:29:50] BitMEX_Sam : You wouldn't immediately reach negative available margin once buying to your limit, only if the price moved would you go negative, and only if it moved against you
[2015-04-28 01:30:56] BitMEX_Sam : Of course you won't actually see negative available margin, it's floored to 0 for display purposes. Pay attention to your excess margin, that's the number that really matters re: liquidation
[2015-04-28 01:31:04] BitMEX_Sam : Available margin is just what you have left for opening new positions.
[2015-04-28 01:31:31] cengelandreasen : yea i just figured that if i had put down margin for a position that any changes would debit against that margin and not affect the dry powder
[2015-04-28 01:31:44] cengelandreasen : but that's becuase i didn't read the excess margin / initial / maintenance system properly
[2015-04-28 01:32:09] cengelandreasen : it's slightly counterintuitive but i see now
[2015-04-28 01:33:42] BitMEX_Sam : Yes, margin is calculated for all open positions in a single pot
[2015-04-28 01:34:03] BitMEX_Sam : The nice part of this is that you can reinvest unrealised pnl into other positions immediately, which is not possible on other systems
[2015-04-28 01:34:37] cengelandreasen : well im on the other side of that coin now :P
[2015-04-28 01:35:01] cengelandreasen : it would be nice to enter hedge and trading positions simultaneously
[2015-04-28 01:35:14] cengelandreasen : like if you had accounts segregated so that i can hedge without paying the insurance fee
[2015-04-28 01:35:21] cengelandreasen : but still do trading in between
[2015-04-28 01:36:37] BitMEX_Sam : The best way to do that is to open multiple accounts
[2015-04-28 01:36:53] BitMEX_Sam : That way you can put them into different fee modes via the option in the `Account` page
[2015-04-28 01:38:07] cengelandreasen : yea i'll just do that
[2015-04-28 01:46:52] cengelandreasen : anyway thanks Sam, i should have read the refs more closely it explains it just fine :)
[2015-04-28 01:47:31] cengelandreasen : if the price was moving more on the other open position, i would have noticed it more quickly but no trades meant the avail balance wasn't moving either
[2015-04-28 15:26:18] brandonwong89 : hey, is it possible to get historial data of XBU24H on excel?
[2015-04-28 15:31:42] brandonwong89 : no worries found it
[2015-04-28 20:45:03] kasman5 : Is BVOL not available to trade?
[2015-04-28 20:51:05] BitMEX_Sam : kasman5: Not right now. We are making adjustments to the contract structure to make it more useful to trade
[2015-04-28 20:51:15] BitMEX_Sam : We expect to launch the new contract in the next 48 hours
[2015-04-28 21:14:10] kasman5 : cheers
[2015-04-30 05:47:28] cengelandreasen : will BVOL settle monthly or ?
[2015-04-30 06:57:07] uiop : http://i.imgur.com/EFnIVnf.png
[2015-04-30 08:11:32] BitMEX_Arthur : cengelandreasen: BVOL will settle daily
[2015-04-30 08:16:33] kasman5 : Why am I unable to liquiddate my position
[2015-04-30 08:17:56] BitMEX_Arthur : kasman5: Is your account in margin call?
[2015-04-30 08:18:15] kasman5 : wanted to cut my losses at 234, said I couldn't as it would my account in margin call
[2015-04-30 08:18:46] kasman5 : in margin call now and some contracts were force liquidated ar prices worse than I could have got out at
[2015-04-30 08:21:48] BitMEX_Arthur : kasman5: Once your account is in margin call we do not allow the user to close out at a price that would further decrease your account equity, deposit more funds to end the margin call
[2015-04-30 08:24:59] kasman5 : right, need to look into this more. This is why I decided to only deposit a small amount!
[2015-04-30 08:25:43] kasman5 : If you want full leverage on here do you have to use all your margin
[2015-04-30 08:26:13] BitMEX_Arthur : Yes because we conduce margin on a portfolio level
[2015-04-30 08:26:24] BitMEX_Arthur : Please read https://www.bitmex.com/app/marginCall for more information about our margin call process
[2015-04-30 08:27:10] BitMEX_Arthur : Each contract requires its own maintenance margin, and if your equity dips below that aggregate level on a portfolio basis we place you in a margin call
[2015-04-30 08:28:23] kasman5 : will do, suppose bad thing about this is you can't have full leverage and protect positions aswell
[2015-04-30 08:30:41] kasman5 : I suppose it won't matter too much when liquidity increases and you can manually manage your account
[2015-05-01 05:39:18] cengelandreasen : i closed an XBUU15 contract to step up cost basis (and liquidiation price) for a hedge. but the liquidiationprice shows only 17% higher than entry price. is that because of my neg realisedPnl ?
[2015-05-01 05:40:42] cengelandreasen : because i also wanted to open it under hedging fee structure, so i thought maybe it would not have a settlement issue there
[2015-05-01 09:09:19] cengelandreasen : unless the liquidation price is for margincall, not actual liquidiation? so the remaining margin still can be taken from deposit
[2015-05-01 10:35:42] cengelandreasen : i could have sworn though on the contract i closed with lower entry price had same liquidiation price as this one now 279 at entry 237
[2015-05-01 16:33:52] BitMEX_Arthur : cengelandreasen: can you create a support ticket with your specific issue, we don't like discussing your account trading details over the private chat
[2015-05-01 16:33:54] BitMEX_Arthur : i mean public chat
[2015-05-01 18:25:51] cengelandreasen : yea sry i tried to keep it general and used specific example, but i just send support
[2015-05-02 23:26:52] VanCleef : does bitmex offer options trading?
[2015-05-02 23:32:59] BitMEX_Arthur : VanCleef: Not at the present moment
[2015-05-02 23:33:07] BitMEX_Arthur : that is something we are working on for later this year
[2015-05-02 23:33:38] BitMEX_Arthur : If you want to trade implied volatility, the `XBT` quanto series has some interesting gamma properties in USD terms
[2015-05-02 23:34:07] VanCleef : awesmome, that would be so good, been looking around for bitcoin options, nothing seems to be around
[2015-05-02 23:34:31] BitMEX_Arthur : Most important is for us to get the futures contracts more liquid first
[2015-05-02 23:34:45] BitMEX_Arthur : then we can list options that deliver our futures contracts
[2015-05-02 23:34:54] VanCleef : :)
[2015-05-02 23:35:21] BitMEX_Arthur : So use your affiliate referral link and tell the world about BitMEX :)
[2015-05-02 23:35:23] VanCleef : any other trading products in the works?
[2015-05-02 23:35:46] BitMEX_Arthur : We will be relaunching the volatility product next week with a daily expiry
[2015-05-02 23:36:03] VanCleef : nice
[2015-05-02 23:36:11] BitMEX_Arthur : you will be able to trade the day's volatility, we take the last price on Bitfinex every 5 minutes and look at the change
[2015-05-02 23:36:29] BitMEX_Arthur : it will be a great product for day trading
[2015-05-02 23:37:37] VanCleef : nice man looking fwd to it, any thoughts on white labelling bitmex in the future?
[2015-05-02 23:38:30] BitMEX_Arthur : Our API is public so anyone can plug into the exchange now and put whatever front end they like on top
[2015-05-02 23:38:45] BitMEX_Arthur : we are working with third party trading software providers to connect into BitMEX
[2015-05-02 23:38:51] BitMEX_Arthur : firms like Bit Delta One
[2015-05-02 23:39:10] BitMEX_Arthur : they are putting together some cool algos and basis trading tech that incorporates BitMEX
[2015-05-03 04:36:22] goat : BitMEX_Arthur: hey man, hope all is well
[2015-05-03 04:42:54] BitMEX_Arthur : hi
[2015-05-03 11:13:23] Kalman : BVOL discontinued?
[2015-05-03 11:13:28] Kalman : Hi
[2015-05-03 12:03:30] BitMEX_Wally : Kalman: We will be relaunching the volatility product next week with a daily expiry
[2015-05-04 22:47:36] kasman5 : When will the stop loss feature be introduced?
[2015-05-04 22:49:35] BitMEX_Sam : kasman5: We have it implemented on our trading engine, it just hasn't been worked into the live API and UI yet
[2015-05-04 22:49:49] BitMEX_Sam : We are launching a new volatility product very soon, stop loss is on the roadmap to come shortly after
