My true problem with this market is that it wants to be a currency but does not trade any currency fundamentals - the animal is truly just demand and supply still - vicious.

Futures markets are leveraged and less liquid - creates anxiety in spot market as well as pressure on open interest. Cornering the Bitcoin market will be precious - what you need to do is have the biggest hand by far with a lot of small hands - that's it - and that is exactly what we will have in a few day;s time.

The mark price is the difference- the value of the contracts here is literally pegged to spot price at least partially, so you can't artificially drive it down without just making trades at a loss

If the mark price is 1,000, and you start opening trades at 950, you can do that all day long and it's not going to move the spot prices. Especially given that Bitmex prices aren't factored in to any of the common places people look for prices- coinmarketcap.com and bitcoinwisdom.com
