This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2015-11-15 13:05:08] j8 : i just saw in their terms of service:
[2015-11-15 13:05:14] j8 : `8. WE ARE NOT A BANK. We are not a bank, so balances are not deposits and they do not earn interest. Balances are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, or any other entity or insurance scheme, whether governmental or private.`
[2015-11-15 13:05:22] Swedishnut : Morning Gents! Hope ye are having a wonderful day!
[2015-11-15 13:06:21] j8 : this is the sort of distinction you need to make to be compliant
[2015-11-15 13:07:05] j8 : Swedishnut: hey there, pretty slow day so far
[2015-11-15 13:09:38] jung1 : bitcoin died

[2015-11-15 13:55:38] TschavaTschigger : seems like finally, the volatility is back
[2015-11-15 13:59:12] TschavaTschigger : looks like I summoned the demons lol
[2015-11-15 14:00:11] gustavo7 : nice candle
[2015-11-15 14:04:19] TschavaTschigger : looks like I really have to re-write my bot because of these small-order-morons....
[2015-11-15 14:04:41] j8 : that's probably their purpose, to crash other bots
[2015-11-15 14:05:49] jung1 : good
[2015-11-15 14:05:52] jung1 : -10$
[2015-11-15 14:26:34] jung1 : CNY under 2000
[2015-11-15 14:26:42] jung1 : hold on!
[2015-11-15 14:29:48] TschavaTschigger : no admin here? :(
[2015-11-15 14:30:14] habibi : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: wake up!
[2015-11-15 14:30:15] habibi : :)
[2015-11-15 14:30:34] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : habibi: Just did. Missed break out though ;(
[2015-11-15 14:30:41] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : *:(
[2015-11-15 14:30:51] jung1 : going up now
[2015-11-15 14:30:53] habibi : i am sorry to hear ;p
[2015-11-15 14:31:39] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : habibi: It's all good. Still looks like a good day to trade since we're out of consolidation
[2015-11-15 14:31:40] singularity321 : whichn exchange led that drop?
[2015-11-15 14:32:14] j8 : china was ahead of bitfinex a bit
[2015-11-15 14:32:17] habibi : finex to 330
[2015-11-15 14:32:21] TschavaTschigger : singularity321: from what I have seen, okcoin, but not 100% sure
[2015-11-15 14:32:23] habibi : then china joined
[2015-11-15 14:32:39] singularity321 : woodchipper = b i t f i n e x?
[2015-11-15 14:32:43] j8 : okc
[2015-11-15 14:32:44] TschavaTschigger : ok.coin
[2015-11-15 14:32:48] singularity321 : ah ok
[2015-11-15 14:32:54] singularity321 : thank
[2015-11-15 14:32:57] singularity321 : s
[2015-11-15 14:34:02] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Impressed with the support here. After all that consolidation the bears couldn't even knock us below $310. Could be another leg or three down though haha
[2015-11-15 14:42:51] germanjew : 960XBT order on bitfinex
[2015-11-15 14:43:16] sleger : xbt ? you mean btc ?
[2015-11-15 14:43:52] germanjew : lol yes
[2015-11-15 14:43:56] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : sleger: same thing
[2015-11-15 14:45:19] sleger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: no, XBT is a specific ticker symbol which is not used in bitfinex referential
[2015-11-15 14:49:07] TschavaTschigger : admins won't be online today mh? after all it's a sunday
[2015-11-15 14:49:13] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : sleger: XBT is an ISO 4217 style code to represent BTC. Gold is XAU for example and silver XAG. It is just another way of writing BTC when talking about marktets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217#X_currencies
[2015-11-15 14:49:33] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: I know I'm not an admin but perhaps I could be of help with something?
[2015-11-15 14:49:38] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: #pwned
[2015-11-15 14:50:14] sleger : bitfinex still refers it as btc on their website, but I agree, not very relevant anyways
[2015-11-15 14:50:16] TschavaTschigger : well I have a question in regard of the websocket API... switched from orderbook10 to orderbook... anybody here that uses orderbook in websocket?
[2015-11-15 14:50:33] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: Yes I do. What's your question?
[2015-11-15 14:50:35] sleger : no i use 10, do you really eed more
[2015-11-15 14:52:20] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: fantastic! well updates come in bids arrays, and updates come in ask arrays, but never bids and asks together... bids have levels from 0 upwards and asks have levels from 0 upwards... when I get a delete: level XY, how do I know if I should delete the ask level or the bid level?
[2015-11-15 14:52:42] TschavaTschigger : It doesn't specify anything else but the level in the "delete"
[2015-11-15 14:53:16] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: Ah yes, I had to ask BitMEX_Sam the same question haha. It means to delete the whole level, bid and ask
[2015-11-15 14:54:08] TschavaTschigger : lol really? this makes zero sense, does it? this implies that the same level on ask and bid size was deleted in the same moment? how unlikely is that?
[2015-11-15 14:55:16] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: I know it sounds weird but that's how it works. I was confused too at firstm
[2015-11-15 14:55:18] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : *first
[2015-11-15 14:55:43] TschavaTschigger : and now you are not confused anymore? because I am still lol
[2015-11-15 14:56:53] sleger : if you only get delete without side then surely thats not it
[2015-11-15 14:56:54] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: I mean I still don't understand why it is that way, but that is how it works, so that's how I've programmed it.
[2015-11-15 14:57:26] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : sleger: I specifically asked BitMEX_Sam this same question and his answer was very clear
[2015-11-15 14:58:51] sleger : put a bid cancel it see what message you get, do the same with ask
[2015-11-15 14:59:03] sleger : if you get each time to delete both bid and ask then thats not it
[2015-11-15 14:59:23] TschavaTschigger : i'll do that
[2015-11-15 15:00:29] TschavaTschigger : but generally I find the "orderbook" very weird. the "update" seems to give me full bid/ask side every time... and it is pushed up to several times a second. why do I even need an insert/delete? this doesn't seem to only push deltas
[2015-11-15 15:00:52] habibi : hobi is pushing
[2015-11-15 15:00:54] habibi : or trying
[2015-11-15 15:00:56] TschavaTschigger : I know it should only push deltas, but it seems like it pushes the full sides every time
[2015-11-15 15:01:09] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: The update should only contain updates. There are just a lot of them
[2015-11-15 15:01:31] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : The orderbook changes rapidly. Just how it is
[2015-11-15 15:02:22] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: ok thanks for the information so far.. ill just implement this and see how it works
[2015-11-15 15:02:35] TschavaTschigger : though I still find it weird
[2015-11-15 15:03:26] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: Ok. Not sure if you're storing the full tables but if you just want to store the asks' and bids' size and value I can share my Python function that updates that from the Websocket based on the action
[2015-11-15 15:03:55] TschavaTschigger : i'm storing the full tables and I am using java. but thanks though :)
[2015-11-15 15:04:22] BitMEX_Sam : Hey guys
[2015-11-15 15:04:26] BitMEX_Sam : I can explain the orderbook real quick:
[2015-11-15 15:04:31] BitMEX_Sam : (Also good morning)
[2015-11-15 15:04:37] TschavaTschigger : yeees < 3
[2015-11-15 15:04:50] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: hey! afternoon from eu :)
[2015-11-15 15:04:57] BitMEX_Sam : So, in the beginning, there was `orderBook`.
[2015-11-15 15:05:06] BitMEX_Sam : Wally created it, Sam implemented it, and they saw it was good.
[2015-11-15 15:05:19] cataquil : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: can u share it with me?
[2015-11-15 15:05:41] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : BitMEX_Sam: Haha :) Good morning
[2015-11-15 15:05:46] BitMEX_Sam : "But wait!", Sam said. "The user can only see 10 levels in the UI, and 25 when expanding - let's save some bandwidth and limit to 25."
[2015-11-15 15:05:50] BitMEX_Sam : And thus `orderBook25` was born.
[2015-11-15 15:06:01] BitMEX_Sam : And we saw that it was good.
[2015-11-15 15:06:23] habibi : Bibble talks
[2015-11-15 15:06:34] BitMEX_Sam : "This is weird," said some API consumers. "I really just want 10 levels, quick and fast, without implementing your delta scheme."
[2015-11-15 15:06:51] BitMEX_Sam : "Fine," we said. "Here's `orderBook10`."
[2015-11-15 15:06:52] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : habibi: I'm dying over here. Such a funny reference
[2015-11-15 15:07:17] BitMEX_Sam : Now, the reason the `orderBook25` and `orderBook` streams issue `delete`s at times is this:
[2015-11-15 15:07:39] BitMEX_Sam : Imagine you have a row, like this: `{level: 10, askPrice: 350, askSize: 1, bidPrice: null, bidSize: null}`
[2015-11-15 15:07:47] BitMEX_Sam : And then the ask drops. You get a `delete`
[2015-11-15 15:08:09] BitMEX_Sam : But if you had a full level and just the ask size dropped out, you'd get an update setting the `askSize` and `askPrice` to null.
[2015-11-15 15:08:21] habibi : we need Willy here to push premiums :D
[2015-11-15 15:08:29] BitMEX_Sam : Of course, there are some problems with this method in general
[2015-11-15 15:08:59] TschavaTschigger : ah... and if the level on the OTHER side gets null to, then we get the delete command
[2015-11-15 15:09:13] BitMEX_Sam : TschavaTschigger: Right, if both sides are null then it just gets deleted
[2015-11-15 15:09:33] BitMEX_Sam : The nice part about this scheme is that you can handle orderbook deltas exactly the same way you handle your order list, positions list, trades, whatever
[2015-11-15 15:09:38] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: ok you were right, I just didn't get it :D
[2015-11-15 15:09:43] BitMEX_Sam : And in fact, in the UI, it's the same code for each and every realtime update.
[2015-11-15 15:10:23] BitMEX_Sam : Now, in the future, we may create a fourth `orderBook` stream that is leaner and doesn't have the cascading insert / delete problem that `orderBook25` and `orderBook` have, where a single level dropping on either side can cause every level to update.
[2015-11-15 15:10:47] BitMEX_Sam : It's a bit of a waste of bandwidth - we have a ticket in the system for that. But we won't break backcompat if you've implemented the updates as we have them.
[2015-11-15 15:11:31] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : BitMEX_Sam: You're a bit off script buddy. Tell us about what happened on day two! :)
[2015-11-15 15:11:40] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Was it good? Did you see that it was good?
[2015-11-15 15:11:47] BitMEX_Sam : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: Oh, that's when Wally created Market Orders, and it was bad
[2015-11-15 15:11:59] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Haha
[2015-11-15 15:12:31] TschavaTschigger : but when I get an update with the asks for example.. there are some asks that have an asksize in the update and some that don't
[2015-11-15 15:12:35] BitMEX_Sam : Lol I'm out of bible references
[2015-11-15 15:12:43] TschavaTschigger : the ones that don't.. their levels just change right?
[2015-11-15 15:12:54] BitMEX_Sam : TschavaTschigger: If the field isn't in the update, it hasn't changed
[2015-11-15 15:13:06] BitMEX_Sam : A `level` is an ID so it never changes
[2015-11-15 15:13:25] TschavaTschigger : yeah, makes sense
[2015-11-15 15:13:27] BitMEX_Sam : See https://github.com/BitMEX/market-maker/blob/master/market_maker/ws/ws_thread.py#L225
[2015-11-15 15:13:57] BitMEX_Sam : Essentially you just find the row by using the `id` keys, then replace any data that is present in the update
[2015-11-15 15:14:18] TschavaTschigger : this makes perfect sense
[2015-11-15 15:14:22] TschavaTschigger : thanks for the explanation
[2015-11-15 15:14:26] BitMEX_Sam : Np
[2015-11-15 15:14:53] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : BitMEX_Sam: My session just expired on me. I realize I've been logged in for a while but I was active. Actually clicking order controls when it happened
[2015-11-15 15:15:06] BitMEX_Sam : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: Hmm, I'll look into it
[2015-11-15 15:15:38] TschavaTschigger : same thing happens to me sometimes (very rarely though).. just random logouts
[2015-11-15 15:15:44] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : BitMEX_Sam: Thanks :) Not too serious, just would rather that not happen when I'm trying to open/close a position quickly
[2015-11-15 15:16:09] BitMEX_Sam : Yeah, understood - if your session actually expires, it is supposed to log you out by sending a message out the WS, so it happens immediately
[2015-11-15 15:16:21] BitMEX_Sam : I believe there are some issues when it falls back to AJAX polling, I'll run some tests
[2015-11-15 15:17:07] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : BitMEX_Sam: Great, thanks!
[2015-11-15 15:17:34] zanza : was that a huobi dump btw?
[2015-11-15 15:18:05] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : zanza: Not sure. I thought someone said it was a Finex dump
[2015-11-15 15:18:18] zanza : ok
[2015-11-15 15:18:38] j8 : what i saw was huobi and okc dropping first, and bfx resisted
[2015-11-15 15:18:41] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : zanza: Does look more like Huobi though
[2015-11-15 15:18:57] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : It may be hard to tell who started it because of the quick reaction from bots
[2015-11-15 15:18:57] j8 : then bfx dumped past where china was.
[2015-11-15 15:19:22] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Cool thanks. I was still asleep haha
[2015-11-15 15:19:40] j8 : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: dang, after watching those bbands all day yesterday eh. takes patience
[2015-11-15 15:20:52] j8 : basically played out just like we were saying, eventually
[2015-11-15 15:21:36] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Yeah I got literally tired of waiting eventually haha. It's sort of a bummer I missed it but I have a position now and I think things are going to be a bit more exciting now that we're out of that consolidation range
[2015-11-15 15:22:10] j8 : yeah i was surprised the price didn't change while i slept
[2015-11-15 15:22:57] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: It may be a good thing I slept because I would have probably tried to catch the knife with bad results
[2015-11-15 15:23:20] j8 : yeah i caught some knives today. some good, some bad
[2015-11-15 15:23:58] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: It was very profitable for me on the way down to $300, but you will get cut eventually
[2015-11-15 15:25:00] j8 : can't hold onto them, thats for sure. but sometimes when people are getting liquidated it's just too tempting
[2015-11-15 15:25:53] j8 : mostly i try to hedge those trades asap.
[2015-11-15 15:26:40] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Yeah I usually try to spot when the drop is weakening, go long quickly with a good number of contracts, then sell quickly to the slower knife catchers haha
[2015-11-15 15:27:24] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Do you think there's farther to fall here in the short term?
[2015-11-15 15:28:12] zanza : brb checking crystal ball
[2015-11-15 15:28:18] zanza : no, this is the bottom
[2015-11-15 15:28:22] zanza : confirmed
[2015-11-15 15:28:27] j8 : yeah, doesn't look great to me.
[2015-11-15 15:28:35] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : zanza: lol thanks
[2015-11-15 15:29:08] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Yeah I wish I hadn't longed XBT7D with the spread like it is. May have to take a loss on that if there's more dumping
[2015-11-15 15:29:09] FreeForB : I agree it looks like more down but whenever eyeryone agrees I worry. lol
[2015-11-15 15:30:17] j8 : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: i did the same thing, but i plan on hedging it rather than pay a terrible spread
[2015-11-15 15:30:37] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Hedging with December or March?
[2015-11-15 15:30:49] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : My immediate thought was how pathetic it was the bears couldn't even put us below 315 after all that consolidation (and therefore bullish), but they could just be waiting to sell again
[2015-11-15 15:30:53] j8 : still holding short march
[2015-11-15 15:31:58] habibi : march is here?
[2015-11-15 15:32:16] j8 : `XBTH16`
[2015-11-15 15:32:18] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Haha then how do you hedge March? Sure it protects you from having to pay the spread on XBT7D but the spread on March is even worse
[2015-11-15 15:32:56] j8 : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: i needed longs to hedge the march short i already had. was also short the daily earlier
[2015-11-15 15:33:10] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Oh ok
[2015-11-15 15:33:35] j8 : i also arb with okc, longed the quarterly at 313 earlier
[2015-11-15 15:34:37] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : I really don't want to pay the terrible spread. Such a dumb position to get myself into
[2015-11-15 15:36:13] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Hey some bids are appearing. Yay!
[2015-11-15 15:43:52] zanza : getting yourself into dumb positions is what trading is all about IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb
[2015-11-15 15:44:53] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : zanza: Haha I try to be smarter than that usually though. Oh well, there's always tomorrow :p
[2015-11-15 15:44:57] j8 : it's fine if you don't over leverage.
[2015-11-15 15:45:47] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: True. I'm not overleveraged at all, so I'm content to sit on this for a bit
[2015-11-15 15:46:25] j8 : yup, it's normal for the books to empty when we have a volatile move like this
[2015-11-15 15:46:39] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8. Yep. Just not a good position to take with the spread like it is
[2015-11-15 15:47:40] j8 : yeah, been there, gotta know when to eat the loss too. things can always get worse
[2015-11-15 15:48:03] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: True. Got my finger on cut losses the trigger
[2015-11-15 15:48:15] j8 : or honestly, just isolate and let it liquidate - it might beat the spread
[2015-11-15 15:48:28] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: How would that work?
[2015-11-15 15:49:08] j8 : if you isolate margin you should get a pretty high liquidation price
[2015-11-15 15:49:56] j8 : 1% below mark
[2015-11-15 15:50:29] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Yep, I see. Then I only lose my margin if I get liquidated, right?
[2015-11-15 15:50:29] j8 : or 1% below entry, whichever is lower. there is also maintenance margin, so you're bankruptcy price would be 2% below
[2015-11-15 15:51:08] j8 : 2% below 322.10 is 315.78
[2015-11-15 15:51:17] zanza : sometimes it also helps to just let things settle
[2015-11-15 15:51:28] j8 : you'd lose the same as if you sold at 315.78
[2015-11-15 15:51:40] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Pretty close to the spread. I'll probably just take that
[2015-11-15 15:51:50] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: If I need to
[2015-11-15 15:52:17] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : zanza: Also good advice. May do that if this turns into a more profitable position
[2015-11-15 15:52:23] j8 : yeah, if there's a better bid then you take that.
[2015-11-15 15:53:06] j8 : no reason to sell so low when the daily is at 319 though.
[2015-11-15 15:53:46] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Yeah that's what I'm thinking. This could easily become a winning position since it seems nobody wants to dump more
[2015-11-15 15:54:07] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Going to ride it out
[2015-11-15 15:54:17] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : For as long as I feel comfortable with that
[2015-11-15 15:54:58] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Thanks for the advice guys. Really appreciate it
[2015-11-15 15:55:11] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : The isolation is a good trick to remember
[2015-11-15 15:55:44] j8 : it does come in handy when there's nothing on the books and you just need to get out
[2015-11-15 15:58:56] thehawthorne : somewhere around 2300 tonight. fasten your seatbelts. this dump was only to catch the worried and some stops, now collecting cheap coins for a while and fly to the moon afterwards
[2015-11-15 15:59:50] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : thehawthorne: That sounds nice. Not seeing the buying needed to get us there though
[2015-11-15 16:00:47] habibi : i am not seeing the buyers as the sellers as well that much tho
[2015-11-15 16:00:54] habibi : many many people playing with the wind of market
[2015-11-15 16:01:10] thehawthorne : also not seeing it. thats why it will happen. my guess
[2015-11-15 16:01:25] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : thehawthorne: Well I hope you're right :)
[2015-11-15 16:01:54] thehawthorne : always rises around sunday evening, when price is low before that happens this will trigger some extra rise in price overall imho
[2015-11-15 16:02:06] thehawthorne : well see
[2015-11-15 16:02:41] j8 : by sunday evening do you mean monday morning in china?
[2015-11-15 16:03:38] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Bingo
[2015-11-15 16:04:58] thehawthorne : 22-0 GMT
[2015-11-15 16:07:02] j8 : is 6am to 8 am china time
[2015-11-15 16:21:42] habibi : imagine we drop to 100-200s, 100x leverage then is much crazier
[2015-11-15 16:22:13] habibi : and def need 50x or 25x for choose
[2015-11-15 16:22:39] j8 : only if it's more volatile at that price
[2015-11-15 16:23:30] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: how much is there in insurance fund for system loss so far?
[2015-11-15 16:34:00] zanza : habibi: does bitmex have a fund? lol
[2015-11-15 16:34:12] zanza : https://www.bitmex.com/app/settlementHistory
[2015-11-15 16:35:22] gustavo7 : i don't think so, DPE just goes to 100% and no profits
[2015-11-15 16:36:20] j8 : there is sort of a fund, in the sense that system profits offset system losses
[2015-11-15 16:36:22] zanza : up we go
[2015-11-15 16:37:00] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : "If BitMEX is able to liquidate the position at better than the bankruptcy price, the additional funds will be used to offset losses on other bankrupt positions. If there are not bankrupt positions to offset, the leftover Bitcoin will be used to offset losses in the next contract. "
[2015-11-15 16:37:05] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : j8: Seems like it
[2015-11-15 16:37:36] zanza : oh, well its obviously not listed so they probably don't want it public
[2015-11-15 16:37:52] j8 : yeah, people have been requesting transparency on that system for a while, they say it's coming
[2015-11-15 16:38:17] zanza : seems like a non issue though, there aren't problems with clawbackk here
[2015-11-15 16:38:35] zanza : unlick chipper
[2015-11-15 16:39:05] habibi : If BitMEX is able to liquidate the position at better than the bankruptcy price, the additional funds will be used to offset losses on other bankrupt positions. If there are not bankrupt positions to offset, the leftover Bitcoin will be used to offset losses in the next contract.
[2015-11-15 16:41:58] j8 : zanza: there haven't been, which is awesome, but it's all about preparing for the rare event. if there have been system profits, it's good to know as a measure of the health of the market
[2015-11-15 16:44:03] sleger : why is it always hard to get answers about the insurance fund
[2015-11-15 16:44:27] sleger : it should be publicly visible like on other websites, as this is money that does not belong to bitmex
[2015-11-15 16:44:29] j8 : the maintenance margin collected from liquidations on `XBT24H` is substantial, and while most people are happy to have a functioning market, there could be accusations that this is a profit channel for the exchange
[2015-11-15 16:47:15] gustavo7 : huh don't i get maint margin back when i exit the contract?
[2015-11-15 16:47:27] j8 : gustavo7: yes but not if you were liquidated
[2015-11-15 16:48:01] gustavo7 : ah well of course
[2015-11-15 16:48:36] gustavo7 : cny going for 2060, at 2070 could be breakout, but i'm building short
[2015-11-15 16:53:09] habibi : lets gain some premium again here
[2015-11-15 17:08:16] FreeForB : habibi: yes no believers right now. I am long. Hoping for a little more in this mini rally.
[2015-11-15 17:13:49] messiaen8844 : lol, what was that sppike ??
[2015-11-15 17:14:08] gustavo7 : 2070 walled on huobi, looks rejected to me
[2015-11-15 17:14:31] messiaen8844 : whoops, was on wrong time frame
[2015-11-15 17:15:13] zanza : how do you see walls on charts?
[2015-11-15 17:15:20] messiaen8844 : orderbook
[2015-11-15 17:15:35] gustavo7 : i just looked on bitcoinwisdom
[2015-11-15 17:15:35] messiaen8844 : great day today, before leaving home shorted @ 330, bought again at @ 315
[2015-11-15 17:15:35] zanza : https://hypron.net/bitcoinwisdom/ ?
[2015-11-15 17:15:48] messiaen8844 : ops, 317
[2015-11-15 17:15:58] zanza : messiaen8844: opposite for me
[2015-11-15 17:16:15] zanza : well, my short 24h settled, and then dropped like $15 before i could reopen
[2015-11-15 17:16:16] messiaen8844 : too bad not much contracts, couldn't properly watch it
[2015-11-15 17:16:55] messiaen8844 : I was long the whole day yesterday, then after settlement it gave some minor bearish signs
[2015-11-15 17:17:08] messiaen8844 : shorting again now
[2015-11-15 17:17:10] gustavo7 : zanza: the strange looking lines beside the current price marker are the order book in visual form, when it's totally flat there is a large order
[2015-11-15 17:17:18] messiaen8844 : hoping that 325 is resistance for today
[2015-11-15 17:17:36] zanza : thanks gustavo7
[2015-11-15 17:17:54] zanza : looks like both okc and houb are flat
[2015-11-15 17:19:28] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : messiaen8844:
[2015-11-15 17:19:35] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Congrats on your good trades
[2015-11-15 17:20:26] gustavo7 : it's a bit better to see on cryptowatch
[2015-11-15 17:20:49] messiaen8844 : it sucks that I had much more time yesterday and my position today should have been 4x larger
[2015-11-15 17:21:07] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : messiaen8844: Still, profit is profit, right?
[2015-11-15 17:21:19] zanza : spoken like a true Ferengi
[2015-11-15 17:21:41] messiaen8844 : profit is withheld profit lol
[2015-11-15 17:22:05] messiaen8844 : there's always the chance to mess up before settlement ;). MESS i AM
[2015-11-15 17:26:54] messiaen8844 : if we do opposite and actually test 325 as a support, then 300 = bottom and we may have a good leg up towards 380
[2015-11-15 17:27:57] messiaen8844 : contrary to others, I think bitcoin price also depends on what will happen tomorrow on the markets in reaction to paris
[2015-11-15 17:29:14] messiaen8844 : that may just shut all TA
[2015-11-15 17:31:38] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : messiaen8844: Why do you believe that will have any effect on bitcoin whatsoever? Someone else made another strong counterpoint here https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/3sv020/daily_discussion_sunday_november_15_2015/cx0y9k3
[2015-11-15 17:31:52] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : *made a strong counterpoint
[2015-11-15 17:32:41] gustavo7 : on the day of the charlie hebd shooting the CAC40 drew a indifferent candle and jumped up the next day
[2015-11-15 17:33:02] gustavo7 : so i'd say not much influence there
[2015-11-15 17:33:03] zanza : does the BitMEX bot have features, to adjust your open orders to "beat" other orders? i mean, adjust the price to be in front of a better price?
[2015-11-15 17:33:21] sleger : no but thats super easy to do
[2015-11-15 17:33:30] messiaen8844 : look at the shaky market conditions all over the world
[2015-11-15 17:33:30] zanza : because there is a bot that does it here
[2015-11-15 17:33:42] zanza : so someone must have custom programmed that
[2015-11-15 17:33:48] messiaen8844 : oil in 2008 price, emergents bleeding, SP&500 gettin very beriash
[2015-11-15 17:34:21] messiaen8844 : great excuse for sell-outs, manipulation
[2015-11-15 17:36:21] gustavo7 : sometimes when btc moved with another asset, short time later it moved totally independent
[2015-11-15 17:36:47] gustavo7 : i've never seen an asset reasonably linked to btc, not even gold
[2015-11-15 17:37:21] j8 : USD is linked to BTC/USD obviously
[2015-11-15 17:37:41] j8 : don't forget you're trading two things
[2015-11-15 17:37:55] messiaen8844 : buy wall here
[2015-11-15 17:38:27] messiaen8844 : attacked
[2015-11-15 17:38:32] sleger : but usd vol is negligible in front of btc vol so even if theoretically yes, you're wrong as in btcusd is not correlated with usd index for instance
[2015-11-15 17:38:59] j8 : yeah that part's probably negligible
[2015-11-15 17:39:10] j8 : the more interesting things is what happens with CNY
[2015-11-15 17:39:55] j8 : and the way the BTC/CNY markets diverge
[2015-11-15 17:40:40] clashcitybaron : I am the buy wall :D
[2015-11-15 17:44:51] podizzler3k : [12:16] <+BitMEX_Chat> (zanza): well, my short 24h settled, and then dropped like $15 before i could reopen
[2015-11-15 17:44:55] podizzler3k : i hate when that happens
[2015-11-15 17:46:04] Crypto Wealth : clashcitybaron: wow such a huge order on a continuation pattern... I think we have more downside
[2015-11-15 17:49:41] zanza : ez long on 24H now
[2015-11-15 17:50:17] clashcitybaron : crypto wealth: I see a wedge forming with a break to the up. vacuum area right above. what's the continuation you see?
[2015-11-15 17:51:04] clashcitybaron : Genuine question, I like to see all angles
[2015-11-15 17:51:08] Crypto Wealth : we're flagging after a dump
[2015-11-15 17:51:47] Crypto Wealth : wouldn't be surprised to see another test of $315
[2015-11-15 17:51:53] clashcitybaron : true true
[2015-11-15 17:52:30] zanza : guys think BitMex should get rid of the 25 Mar contract (semi-annual) ?
[2015-11-15 17:52:51] messiaen8844 : why?
[2015-11-15 17:52:58] zanza : pitiful volume
[2015-11-15 17:52:58] j8 : can't really settle positions before march
[2015-11-15 17:53:01] zanza : gigantic spread
[2015-11-15 17:53:18] zanza : spreadis basically 405/550 now
[2015-11-15 17:53:36] laisee : 405/430
[2015-11-15 17:53:37] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : zanza: More like 392/550
[2015-11-15 17:53:47] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : laisee: Not for a reasonable number of contracts
[2015-11-15 17:53:51] Crypto Wealth : clashcitybaron: also the orderbook can't handle such a big order, closing out at a tight price would be difficult. Just my 2 satoshis :-)
[2015-11-15 17:53:59] zanza : true IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb
[2015-11-15 17:54:29] j8 : there's no fair way to close the contract early, even though there's not much open interest
[2015-11-15 17:54:50] zanza : yeah, i mean hey could just stop listing a 6 month
[2015-11-15 17:55:22] zanza : so march would be the last
[2015-11-15 17:55:22] messiaen8844 : or you can buy very few contracts in the right time (major spikes or falls) and profit from spread at low cost
[2015-11-15 17:56:12] zanza : also the XBU/XLT/ETH lol
[2015-11-15 17:56:23] zanza : thats just me though =]
[2015-11-15 17:56:31] messiaen8844 : eth needs market makers
[2015-11-15 17:57:03] zanza : the 24 hour volume is half a coin on ETH
[2015-11-15 17:57:22] zanza : literally 0 on XLT
[2015-11-15 17:57:24] j8 : yeah, well i'd be happy to see the `XBT` series dominate the industry first
[2015-11-15 17:57:44] messiaen8844 : eth so volatile it's risky to leverage
[2015-11-15 18:01:54] zanza : did @BitMEX ever consider registering with the CTFC to be "legit" ?
[2015-11-15 18:02:10] habibi : personally i hope we will go back but on the other side would be funny to see 30k order liquidated :p
[2015-11-15 18:02:23] habibi : up* i mean not back
[2015-11-15 18:02:29] habibi : back to 2330 :p
[2015-11-15 18:02:35] habibi : 330* shiet my keybord sucks
[2015-11-15 18:02:51] clashcitybaron : what kind of volume was there on the dump?
[2015-11-15 18:03:06] messiaen8844 : if you believe in such upside, why not buy 7D then ?
[2015-11-15 18:05:13] Crypto Wealth : clashcitybaron: 4827 btc on bitfinex in an hour
[2015-11-15 18:06:07] Crypto Wealth : clashcitybaron: 23,000 btc on OKCoin but they wash trade so that numbers probably not accurate
[2015-11-15 18:06:22] Crypto Wealth : OKCoin
[2015-11-15 18:06:40] clashcitybaron : that's a pretty decent dump
[2015-11-15 18:07:07] sleger : Crypto Wealth: my trades are dirty, how do I get to wash them like your woodchipper guy ?
[2015-11-15 18:07:26] Crypto Wealth : clashcitybaron: thats funny when I try to type OK Coin it give me the woodchipper lol
[2015-11-15 18:07:39] clashcitybaron : hahahaha okcoin
[2015-11-15 18:07:45] clashcitybaron : okcoin

[2015-11-15 18:07:50] Crypto Wealth : hahaha
[2015-11-15 18:08:13] habibi : 0kcoin hm works fine for me
[2015-11-15 18:08:50] sleger : habibibi: what is zerokcoin ?
[2015-11-15 18:08:55] Crypto Wealth : habibi: strange try with capital O K C
[2015-11-15 18:09:15] sleger : he replaced O with 0
[2015-11-15 18:09:20] sleger : duh....
[2015-11-15 18:09:21] messiaen8844 : mr. fat fingers @ 2140 very happy now in china
[2015-11-15 18:09:22] habibi : :p
[2015-11-15 18:09:25] Crypto Wealth : ah
[2015-11-15 18:09:27] Crypto Wealth : lol
[2015-11-15 18:09:33] Crypto Wealth : crafty
[2015-11-15 18:10:00] podizzler3k : i think bitstamp pushing it down atm
[2015-11-15 18:10:08] podizzler3k : big sell wall at $324
[2015-11-15 18:10:22] Crypto Wealth : messiaen8844: mr.woodchipper himself
[2015-11-15 18:10:32] zanza : https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video_thumb/CJ4509vWgAE34pW.png
[2015-11-15 18:11:30] Crypto Wealth : ya not sure why Bitstamp is still popular, spot markets are boring and leave your trades one sided
[2015-11-15 18:12:03] messiaen8844 : mr.china doesn't want it down.. YET
[2015-11-15 18:12:13] zanza : Bitstamp is popular for Europe
[2015-11-15 18:12:32] Crypto Wealth : messiaen8844: they're fighting gravity
[2015-11-15 18:12:45] messiaen8844 : he doesn't want to seem as being leaded by the west
[2015-11-15 18:12:58] podizzler3k : haha i made this okcoin landing page a while back to more accurately reflect the user experience http://i.imgur.com/fOFx5Fe.jpg
[2015-11-15 18:13:24] Crypto Wealth : podizzler3k: hahahahaha! +1
[2015-11-15 18:14:41] messiaen8844 : what if in a plot ttwist turns out that woodchipper also owns BitMex? and that is the real identify of Wally in https://www.bitmex.com/app/aboutUs
[2015-11-15 18:15:20] Crypto Wealth : messiaen8844: the irony is that even the some USD exchanges are in Hong Kong, so still technically China, although different type of jurisdiction
[2015-11-15 18:16:52] Crypto Wealth : sleepy Sunday, they sure are taking their sweet time to dump
[2015-11-15 18:17:22] messiaen8844 : 2am in china
[2015-11-15 18:18:00] Crypto Wealth : messiaen8844: that never stopped me, ;-)
[2015-11-15 18:19:14] messiaen8844 : from reddit
[2015-11-15 18:19:16] messiaen8844 : "Only if info is about to be released that the terrorists funded themselves with Bitcoin. Speaking of which, here's a crazy idea to ponder: Terrorists could make a lot of money by shorting bitcoin then releasing information that they were funding themselves with bitcoin (even if that wasn't the case)."
[2015-11-15 18:19:38] messiaen8844 : as in the Batman movie featuring BANE ;)
[2015-11-15 18:20:21] Crypto Wealth : ok is this the dump...
[2015-11-15 18:21:51] messiaen8844 : just the bots on the chipper
[2015-11-15 18:22:06] zanza : terrorist main goal is to profit off a bitcoin short, ok
[2015-11-15 18:22:25] zanza : bots don't sleep also
[2015-11-15 18:22:40] habibi : zanza: u cant tell this serious dont u ;p?
[2015-11-15 18:28:18] podizzler3k : what if it turns out the terrorists were funding themselves with USD?! the humanity!
[2015-11-15 18:44:37] messiaen8844 : mr. 2140 moved to 2070
[2015-11-15 18:47:52] TschavaTschigger : ok I think I have the fastest java implementation for bitmex orderbook websocket ever :D fastutil treemap int --> long, whereas the int defines the level and the long defines the order (price + amount stored in a long with bitshifting :D)
[2015-11-15 18:48:20] TschavaTschigger : bottleneckz byebye
[2015-11-15 18:49:32] TschavaTschigger : I could actually store everything in one long... level+price+amount... hmmm
[2015-11-15 19:03:06] habibi : lets atack 2100?
[2015-11-15 19:06:11] podizzler3k : stamp chomping down that sell wall
[2015-11-15 19:06:36] podizzler3k : okcoin buy support looking pathetic
[2015-11-15 19:19:49] zanza : think its going back to 333?
[2015-11-15 19:20:37] messiaen8844 : for now my resistance @ 325 is holding
[2015-11-15 19:21:02] clashcitybaron : insider info: it's going to the moon tonight
[2015-11-15 19:21:03] messiaen8844 : but I will be quick to switch if scenario changes
[2015-11-15 19:21:44] messiaen8844 : hopefully clash, then we all take a ride
[2015-11-15 19:23:15] ethexio : Anyone use a YubiKey on BitMex?
[2015-11-15 19:23:16] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: That sounds like quite the implementation. I'd expect the latency of your connection to BitMEX to make any sub millisecond improvements in execution time nearly irrelevant though.
[2015-11-15 19:24:57] zanza : clashcitybaron: what time ?!
[2015-11-15 19:25:18] clashcitybaron : when china wakes up
[2015-11-15 19:27:59] zanza : 24H trading backwards today?
[2015-11-15 19:31:11] j8 : yep, crappy premiums everywhere. okc futures are all below index
[2015-11-15 19:34:17] clashcitybaron : what's the index?
[2015-11-15 19:34:36] j8 : the index the futures settle on
[2015-11-15 19:34:47] clashcitybaron : riight right
[2015-11-15 19:35:26] j8 : the index at okc includes CNY markets so its sometimes hard to compare.. pretty even right now though
[2015-11-15 19:44:07] zanza : tradeblock uses china data too
[2015-11-15 19:44:52] j8 : no?
[2015-11-15 19:45:27] j8 : five BTC/USD markets
[2015-11-15 19:46:48] zanza : 0kc?
[2015-11-15 19:47:42] j8 : okc.com, the USD market
[2015-11-15 19:48:30] zanza : ok
[2015-11-15 19:48:58] j8 : okc.com follows china a little bit, but it never had the huge premium that they had
[2015-11-15 19:51:23] zanza : probably because most bitcoins are created IN china
[2015-11-15 19:51:34] zanza : or maybe not
[2015-11-15 19:51:36] zanza : idk lol
[2015-11-15 19:52:26] j8 : dunno, they led the rally for one reason or another, and from what i hear it's not easy to arbitrage
[2015-11-15 19:56:04] messiaen8844 : cool, fake breakout, now DOWN pl0x
[2015-11-15 19:58:53] messiaen8844 : http://theambershow.net/files/bear-suit.jpg
[2015-11-15 20:01:56] Murch : Very weak break down from that triangle earlier today + buy support coming in = 340 later today or tomorrow?
[2015-11-15 20:03:17] habibi : Murch: hello
[2015-11-15 20:03:22] habibi : was missing u a bit
[2015-11-15 20:03:27] zanza : are you long Murch?
[2015-11-15 20:03:34] Murch : habibi: hey man, didn't see you much yesterday
[2015-11-15 20:03:51] Murch : zanza: atm yes, I think I'm also going to be buying the dips as we go along today
[2015-11-15 20:04:17] habibi : yea i needed some rest yesterday and took a great sleep at night as well, happy with that. and loved the previous dump actions
[2015-11-15 20:04:22] Murch : Or that's the current plan anyway
[2015-11-15 20:04:46] Murch : habibi: yeah you really made the best decision there. Chopped myself to shreds these past few days
[2015-11-15 20:05:03] messiaen8844 : bloomberg saying bad things about bitcoin means we are getting close to very powerful support... just not yet
[2015-11-15 20:07:53] habibi : messiaen8844: can u post link?
[2015-11-15 20:08:37] messiaen8844 : in a second
[2015-11-15 20:10:06] messiaen8844 : http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-11-12/bitcoin-can-t-escape-the-dark-side-of-the-internet
[2015-11-15 20:10:58] Murch : That first paragraph was enough to make me close the article in disgust
[2015-11-15 20:11:07] messiaen8844 : china down
[2015-11-15 20:11:32] messiaen8844 : who is brave enough to buy the dip ?
[2015-11-15 20:13:38] zanza : what dip ?
[2015-11-15 20:16:01] Murch : :P
[2015-11-15 20:18:35] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: yeah the implementation is useless, the bottlenecks are somewhere else obviously :D but hey, bitshifting is cool
[2015-11-15 20:19:48] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: True :) So you're experiencing noticeable bottlenecks?
[2015-11-15 20:20:03] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Murch: How goes it?
[2015-11-15 20:20:47] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: it's alright. Kinda sucks that I was asleep for that drop lol
[2015-11-15 20:20:55] Murch : How about you?
[2015-11-15 20:20:57] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: I haven't tested the new orderbook implementation yet. the old one was fine connection-wise, have a low ping and stable isp
[2015-11-15 20:21:23] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: Cool. Hope it works well!
[2015-11-15 20:23:40] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: I'm feeling pretty bullish after that weak break down though. What are you thinking about the price action?
[2015-11-15 20:23:43] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Anyone else seeing this orderbook widget glitch? http://i.cubeupload.com/LoYCFH.png
[2015-11-15 20:24:19] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Murch: That's what I was feeling but there also wasn't that strong of a bounce. I've just been getting chopped up so I'm out for now. Will reevaluate later
[2015-11-15 20:24:45] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Murch: Good call on your short before the drop though. I hope it paid off well
[2015-11-15 20:25:12] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: That makes sense. You are right about the weak bounce but I'm sort of thinking the rise right now is due to accumulation.
[2015-11-15 20:25:21] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: Thanks man, unfortunately lost a lot regardless
[2015-11-15 20:25:33] Murch : I'm starting back from square 1
[2015-11-15 20:25:42] Murch : square -1 rather :P
[2015-11-15 20:26:03] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Murch: Sorry to hear that. Best of luck building profits again
[2015-11-15 20:26:36] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: No worries, all part of the game. Thanks dude, I'll be trying as long as I have a balance (which might not be for long incidentally)
[2015-11-15 20:27:07] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Murch: Well you have the right attitude about it so that's a good start
[2015-11-15 20:27:41] Murch : :)
[2015-11-15 20:28:00] zanza : i lost a lot the past few weeks, got a very lucky trade shorting @ 510
[2015-11-15 20:28:03] zanza : made part of it back
[2015-11-15 20:28:47] zanza : 24H negative again
[2015-11-15 20:30:31] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : This sort of got buried. Anyone else see the orderbook glitching like this? http://i.cubeupload.com/LoYCFH.png
[2015-11-15 20:30:44] Murch : Thinking we're heading to somewhere between 2080 and 2100 the consolidate one last time before pushing 2100
[2015-11-15 20:31:27] Murch : Sorry, what's glitching?
[2015-11-15 20:31:55] habibi : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: yea same here but i thought its coz of my explorer - Vivaldi :p
[2015-11-15 20:32:09] habibi : but its miliseconds ;p how did u catch it
[2015-11-15 20:32:13] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : See how there are 6 asks and 4 bids displayed? Should be 5 and 5 all the time and every once in a while when it updates it glitches for a split second
[2015-11-15 20:32:23] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : habibi: Oh ok glad it's not only me
[2015-11-15 20:32:28] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: ohhh okay.
[2015-11-15 20:32:35] Murch : Must be lag of some sort I suppose
[2015-11-15 20:33:48] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : habibi: Why do you think I'm a good scalper? ;) Just waited for it and took a screenshot quickly right when I saw it happen
[2015-11-15 20:34:38] Murch : the reflexes are real ;)
[2015-11-15 20:36:39] podizzler3k : wheres the opportunities at?
[2015-11-15 20:36:46] podizzler3k : cant find any in ETH, LTC, BTC
[2015-11-15 20:36:53] podizzler3k : XRP? meh
[2015-11-15 20:37:11] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : podizzler3k: Yeah I'm at a bit of a loss right now too. Can't trade when there's no trend
[2015-11-15 20:37:31] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Only looking at BTC though
[2015-11-15 20:38:26] habibi : okc futures going slowly up so we does here?
[2015-11-15 20:39:56] zanza : okc is still backwards
[2015-11-15 20:41:54] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Really need to get a market maker bot running so it can do the sideways trading for me
[2015-11-15 20:42:10] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : That's when it would do best I'd imagive
[2015-11-15 20:42:13] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : *imagine
[2015-11-15 20:42:21] zanza : i think BitMEX should guild in some MM features
[2015-11-15 20:42:26] zanza : build in*
[2015-11-15 20:42:28] Murch : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: Yeah I really need to try doing that too
[2015-11-15 20:42:39] TschavaTschigger : I should really start writing a bot for bitfinex, got 14 ms ping there
[2015-11-15 20:42:57] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: Too much competition there though maybe
[2015-11-15 20:43:23] TschavaTschigger : IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb: yeah, but italians can't code.. they are too chaotic
[2015-11-15 20:43:28] TschavaTschigger : (server is in italy)
[2015-11-15 20:43:59] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : TschavaTschigger: Haha I'm sure there are plenty of Otalians that can code well
[2015-11-15 20:44:01] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : *Italians
[2015-11-15 20:44:08] TschavaTschigger : :P
[2015-11-15 20:44:53] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : Market making is perfect in an almost flat market like this though. You can be the one making money from the people getting chopped up
[2015-11-15 20:45:56] messiaen8844 : woodchopped up
[2015-11-15 20:47:43] messiaen8844 : more weird stamp action
[2015-11-15 20:49:59] messiaen8844 : another one
[2015-11-15 20:49:59] messiaen8844 : http://www.networkworld.com/article/3005308/security/hacktivists-claim-isis-terrorists-linked-to-paris-attacks-had-bitcoin-funding.html
[2015-11-15 20:50:51] messiaen8844 : spreading the FUD citing the ridiculous NewsBTC source
[2015-11-15 20:51:25] messiaen8844 : here in Brazil we have some major media outlets that do this all the time: plant fake news and then starting citing each other to give it credibility
[2015-11-15 20:51:30] Murch : I don't feel bullish about this bounce but I do feel bullish about only a $20 drop after a week of consolidation. Hmmmm
[2015-11-15 20:53:21] messiaen8844 : I'm still bearish until we see major evidence of the bounce, but I am counting on it to happen around those days... best scenario we have panic sell (could be linked to this kind of FUD news) followed by massive up
[2015-11-15 20:53:38] messiaen8844 : would be trader dream
[2015-11-15 20:55:35] TschavaTschigger : since I got banned from facebook for fake name, bitmex trollbox is my favourite social network... sounds a bit sad somehow
[2015-11-15 20:55:47] Murch : messiaen8844: yeah that would be cool
[2015-11-15 20:55:49] habibi : TschavaTschigger: nah, its good!
[2015-11-15 20:56:46] Murch : TschavaTschigger: this is your new family now
[2015-11-15 20:56:49] messiaen8844 : someone reported you?
[2015-11-15 20:56:59] messiaen8844 : our Bitcoin Brazil facebook group is entirely made of fakes I think
[2015-11-15 20:57:00] Murch : *closes and locks door*
[2015-11-15 20:58:30] messiaen8844 : lol @ bitstamp 5 min
[2015-11-15 20:58:49] messiaen8844 : they make bully candles, then 1 sec it becomes bearish, then it reverses, BS bot there
[2015-11-15 21:01:12] IChTj4OeMavRq6qeIyEb : "best scenario we have panic sell" Really lowered our expectations in here, hmm?
[2015-11-15 21:01:22] podizzler3k : dafuq is going on at bitstamp
[2015-11-15 21:01:37] podizzler3k : big volume and no price move
[2015-11-15 21:02:06] habibi : just self maker
[2015-11-15 21:03:33] Murch : I'm still long all the way :D
[2015-11-15 21:04:01] podizzler3k : still long? wow
[2015-11-15 21:04:10] podizzler3k : even futures weekly is short now
[2015-11-15 21:05:36] habibi : Murch: where u started?
[2015-11-15 21:06:05] Murch : habibi: entry at 321.73 atm
