This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2017-02-17 00:49:55] Ugly_Old_Goat : This market is not going down. It never was going down
[2017-02-17 00:50:15] Ugly_Old_Goat : The crash we a great buy for those prepared for the opportunity
[2017-02-17 00:50:18] rapidtrades : pretty sure we're almost 15% below the highs
[2017-02-17 00:50:23] MikeHunt : Ugly_Old_Goat: "new normal" ? http://www.buttcoinfoundation.org/stagesofabubble.png
[2017-02-17 00:50:27] Ugly_Old_Goat : Everyone else got slaughtered
[2017-02-17 00:50:33] rapidtrades : sry below the 'fake highs'

[2017-02-17 00:50:56] rapidtrades : so I guess we're now at a new ATH huh
[2017-02-17 00:51:00] MikeHunt : @sleder = flat = impending doom
[2017-02-17 00:51:09] -_- : gotta get a flash crash to get rid of the over leveraged longs
[2017-02-17 00:51:40] Ugly_Old_Goat : -_-: And that is exactly what we did
[2017-02-17 00:51:45] MikeHunt : anywhere down to 990 should do that
[2017-02-17 00:52:07] amaru : you guys seriously hoping on that?
[2017-02-17 00:52:15] -_- : 950 to clear out the 20x and higher longers
[2017-02-17 00:52:19] mrdoomsoon : can´t wait til okkoin.com freezes BTC withdrawls
[2017-02-17 00:52:31] rapidtrades : sleger: are u pulling out of okc? only 3.4% left
[2017-02-17 00:52:44] MikeHunt : -_-: we can go anywhere down to ~820 and still be in bull run
[2017-02-17 00:52:49] Ugly_Old_Goat : The crash is over. Deal with it.
[2017-02-17 00:52:54] sleger : rapidtrades: reduced a bit but still have a large position there
[2017-02-17 00:53:13] sleger : "MikeHunt: -_-: we can go anywhere down to ~820 and still be in bull run" <= back to 400 or 80k mike
[2017-02-17 00:53:27] MikeHunt : sleger: careful, you may just get 400 ;)
[2017-02-17 00:53:52] MikeHunt : etf pass and we may get 80k (cny)
[2017-02-17 00:53:55] Ugly_Old_Goat : MikeHunt: Not in my book. If we go down to 900 now the bears are right.
[2017-02-17 00:54:19] MikeHunt : Ugly_Old_Goat: i think we'll eventually go there anyway cuz of etf wont pass imo
[2017-02-17 00:54:53] Ugly_Old_Goat : But I am a buyer next week under 979 if we get but I do not expect to see it
[2017-02-17 00:55:09] rapidtrades : we could see it today
[2017-02-17 00:55:21] rapidtrades : we could see 8xx today too
[2017-02-17 00:55:22] Ugly_Old_Goat : MikeHunt: I agree it won't pass, but also irreleant
[2017-02-17 00:55:36] Ugly_Old_Goat : If it does not pass and we get a break I will be a buyer
[2017-02-17 00:55:40] -_- : anytime between now and 8 hours from now we could get bad china news
[2017-02-17 00:55:44] MikeHunt : Ugly_Old_Goat: i think we'll see a dumb, its just a question of size
[2017-02-17 00:55:56] amaru : ETF irrelevant too i think
[2017-02-17 00:56:03] rapidtrades : most articles put the ETF dump at $200
[2017-02-17 00:56:19] Ugly_Old_Goat : I will be very surprised but I am always ready if one comes.
[2017-02-17 00:56:27] MikeHunt : i think we'll bounce 820 if etf fail
[2017-02-17 00:56:38] rapidtrades : long-term it will be much bigger then that cos the bulls are holding prices artificially high right now
[2017-02-17 00:57:09] Ugly_Old_Goat : If is highly likely 1000 is gone forever. The fundamntals remain extremelhy bullish and technical too

[2017-02-17 00:58:00] DorianWhack-A-Moto : ETF rejection would see a crash around the 800's but would recover pretty quick
[2017-02-17 00:58:09] MikeHunt : ive been saying it for a while... http://i.imgur.com/1tvTYYe.png
[2017-02-17 00:58:14] rapidtrades : it will not recover
[2017-02-17 00:58:30] rapidtrades : we're not in a bull market anymore
[2017-02-17 00:58:30] MikeHunt : it will have great difficultly recovering without choyna
[2017-02-17 00:58:54] Ugly_Old_Goat : I am not much of a seller until 1140 and after that 1250
[2017-02-17 00:59:03] rapidtrades : we're just dead-cat bouncing gwith idiots buying every dip
[2017-02-17 00:59:10] rapidtrades : cos that's what worked for the past 1.5 years
[2017-02-17 00:59:16] MikeHunt : rapidtrades: thats exactly what the whales want as well
[2017-02-17 00:59:16] degen : rapidtrades: you short bro lol

[2017-02-17 01:00:14] degen : rapidtrades: probably won't go above 1070
[2017-02-17 01:00:23] Ugly_Old_Goat : But I will be selling what I bot at 1033 at 1047-1057, And if it dips I will buy back again.
[2017-02-17 01:00:36] rapidtrades : 1080 but yeah likely not @degen
[2017-02-17 01:00:38] Ugly_Old_Goat : Same thiing I have been doing all the way up
[2017-02-17 01:01:04] rapidtrades : and the last time it dips it will never recover
[2017-02-17 01:01:09] rapidtrades : good luck with that
[2017-02-17 01:01:24] rapidtrades : hope u can sustain a 80% dd
[2017-02-17 01:01:29] Ugly_Old_Goat : If it goes there it will be fast and furious
[2017-02-17 01:02:32] Ugly_Old_Goat : rapidtrades: Well it had to break 900 before it goes to 200 and I will be long gone
[2017-02-17 01:02:39] MikeHunt : 1060 is max imo http://i.imgur.com/QXmuL54.png
[2017-02-17 01:02:46] Ugly_Old_Goat : At 900 I still pocket a sizable gain
[2017-02-17 01:04:01] cryptokeeper : MikeHunt: if we get to 1050 that is where a ton of shorts will close it will go much higher
[2017-02-17 01:04:10] cryptokeeper : I have a real good feeling
[2017-02-17 01:04:11] MikeHunt : cryptokeeper: true

[2017-02-17 01:06:51] DorianWhack-A-Moto : China banks opened a few minutes ago. Hope they don't gently caress this up
[2017-02-17 01:06:58] cryptokeeper : they wont
[2017-02-17 01:07:07] cryptokeeper : its all about the BFX short hunts
[2017-02-17 01:07:20] cryptokeeper : i bet more even added on on the profit takes a few hrs ago
[2017-02-17 01:08:49] micmix : it's very hard to liquidate shorts on bfx with 3x leverage and most shorts backed by btc balance
[2017-02-17 01:09:22] micmix : it's not bitmex with 100x leverage gamblers
[2017-02-17 01:09:41] cryptokeeper : Right.... but pain points. tons of shorts opened up in 950-1005 area
[2017-02-17 01:09:47] cryptokeeper : and people in the low 1k area
[2017-02-17 01:09:59] cryptokeeper : people will close and accept loss.... why woulkdnt you? lol
[2017-02-17 01:10:07] cryptokeeper : unless you like watching red
[2017-02-17 01:10:13] darius177 : /sentiment
[2017-02-17 01:10:14] rapidtrades : micmix: most shorts prolly backed by tokens tbh
[2017-02-17 01:10:16] trollbot : Sell/Buy Ratio Sentiment Hourly: 12.99/87.01 Daily: 37.23/62.77 Weekly: 47.19/52.81 Monthly: 48.24/51.76
[2017-02-17 01:10:25] rapidtrades : as with any position on bfx right now
[2017-02-17 01:10:28] darius177 : Oh wow
[2017-02-17 01:10:38] aethlios : cryptokeeper: most are hedged, bought okcoin 750 and sold finex 950, they are in deep profit and not loss.
[2017-02-17 01:10:38] micmix : rapidtrades: yeah, I guess a lot of tokens used as margin
[2017-02-17 01:10:57] cryptokeeper : aethlios: not sure where you are getting that from
[2017-02-17 01:11:02] rapidtrades : 50-60 mil of them to be exact
[2017-02-17 01:11:05] cryptokeeper : most of the people that trade on finex only trade on finex
[2017-02-17 01:11:21] Tetsuo : rapidtrades: i need to ask again, are u 100% sure that u can use these tokens as margin?
[2017-02-17 01:11:28] rapidtrades : coos tokens are not transferable @cryptokeeper
[2017-02-17 01:11:28] Tetsuo : cryptokeeper: oh u know most of the people?
[2017-02-17 01:11:35] cryptokeeper : Tetsuo: i know a ton of people
[2017-02-17 01:11:40] Tetsuo : cool
[2017-02-17 01:11:43] cryptokeeper : i am heavily involved in the crypoto community
[2017-02-17 01:11:45] aethlios : yes you can use tokens as margin
[2017-02-17 01:11:49] rapidtrades : Tetsuo: i think so yeah, i sold mine so dunno 100%
[2017-02-17 01:11:50] micmix : most shorts are hedges and arbs, it was always like that. bitcoin speculators like to long on leverage @cryptokeeper
[2017-02-17 01:12:12] cryptokeeper : micmix: copy that
[2017-02-17 01:12:22] rapidtrades : right that's why u get much less REKTS on the way up
[2017-02-17 01:12:44] micmix : yep, you can see it on bitmex as well
[2017-02-17 01:12:58] rapidtrades : micmix: still flat?
[2017-02-17 01:13:43] micmix : unhedged a bit more of my coins on the last drop, now 60% hedged.
[2017-02-17 01:14:05] rapidtrades : what....
[2017-02-17 01:14:07] micmix : my market positions are generally flat all the time
[2017-02-17 01:14:30] micmix : +- 100 coins
[2017-02-17 01:15:11] aethlios : micmix: you are 100 btc perma long??
[2017-02-17 01:15:21] Dynamix : Do you think btc will go more up ?
[2017-02-17 01:15:27] sleger : aethlios: plus or MINUS
[2017-02-17 01:15:30] sleger : +-
[2017-02-17 01:15:36] dodic : Dynamix: 1050 next dude
[2017-02-17 01:15:51] aethlios : sleger: no = ??
[2017-02-17 01:16:24] micmix : aethlios: 100 coins delta limit, goes from + to - and everything in between lol
[2017-02-17 01:16:28] Dynamix : dodic: have u been trading for long ?
[2017-02-17 01:16:58] dodic : nah bruh I'm just a perma bull :)
[2017-02-17 01:17:08] dodic : well until things change ;)
[2017-02-17 01:17:10] rapidtrades : micmix: wow that's a very big limit
[2017-02-17 01:17:32] micmix : 'big' is relative
[2017-02-17 01:17:51] aethlios : no etf no china, fears for more pboc actions, no block size problem solution, fees to the sky, yes keep buying btc....
[2017-02-17 01:17:57] sleger : yes for pure mm it's quite large
[2017-02-17 01:18:02] rapidtrades : 100k seems like a lot to keep unhedged
[2017-02-17 01:18:38] rapidtrades : sleger: whats urs?
[2017-02-17 01:18:45] micmix : I almost never hit the limit though
[2017-02-17 01:18:57] aethlios : rapidtrades: it is all %, if he has half a million it is normal exposure.
[2017-02-17 01:19:11] DorianWhack-A-Moto : aethlios: bitcoin has died 121 times. you might as well buy it it has another 900 lives
[2017-02-17 01:19:30] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: are we below the 2013 high?
[2017-02-17 01:19:43] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: yes
[2017-02-17 01:20:01] aethlios : we are above in market cap.
[2017-02-17 01:20:06] rapidtrades : so it's been 'dead' for 3+ years then
[2017-02-17 01:20:50] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: i was going of news stories of bitcoins 'death', there is a site that lists 121 times its been declared dead
[2017-02-17 01:21:03] rapidtrades : ok
[2017-02-17 01:21:27] DorianWhack-A-Moto : ETF, china news, blocksize etc its just usual bitcoin drama
[2017-02-17 01:21:29] aethlios : DorianWhack-A-Moto: I am betting a large long in LTC, could be an LTC year 2017, I expect btc to fork because of block size isuue, or become useless because of huge fees.
[2017-02-17 01:21:32] dodic : 122 is gonna be the real one
[2017-02-17 01:21:51] rapidtrades : aethlios: short LTC :)
[2017-02-17 01:21:58] MikeHunt : its not dead its just going to be incredibly volatile, which is good for trading
[2017-02-17 01:22:29] rapidtrades : vol will die post ETF with china out of the game
[2017-02-17 01:22:43] MikeHunt : rapidtrades: thats also good for trading
[2017-02-17 01:22:58] rapidtrades : only certain type of trading
[2017-02-17 01:23:04] rapidtrades : for most it will be bad
[2017-02-17 01:23:12] MikeHunt : im a gold bug so i dont give a shit rly
[2017-02-17 01:23:20] MikeHunt : trade with bitcoin to buy gold
[2017-02-17 01:23:27] aethlios : now btc is useless as a people's currency. very expensive to pay a coffee or a small purchase.
[2017-02-17 01:23:33] DorianWhack-A-Moto : its not like another company can't propose another ETF, which is what will happen if COIN is rejected
[2017-02-17 01:24:02] rapidtrades : right, the rule change has to be adopted , its now or never
[2017-02-17 01:24:31] DorianWhack-A-Moto : The SEC will adopt bitcoin one way or another
[2017-02-17 01:24:59] DorianWhack-A-Moto : they might approve a DOGE etf
[2017-02-17 01:25:08] DorianWhack-A-Moto : is DOGE still around?
[2017-02-17 01:27:07] MikeHunt : DorianWhack-A-Moto: why should they?
[2017-02-17 01:27:37] MikeHunt : SEC has an emphasis on consumer protection, they are natural bears
[2017-02-17 01:27:52] dodic : DOGE ETF solid investment for the future
[2017-02-17 01:28:20] rapidtrades : anyone used python for backtesting? whats a good backtester
[2017-02-17 01:29:16] DorianWhack-A-Moto : MikeHunt: cryptocurrency isn't going away, they can't close their eyes and hope it goes away. They will regulate it so it fits their framework
[2017-02-17 01:29:21] Sultan Pepper : rapidtrades: what's the name of the book you're learning python with?
[2017-02-17 01:29:33] MikeHunt : DorianWhack-A-Moto: says whom?
[2017-02-17 01:29:46] ubba : what if something better than cryptocurrency comes along
[2017-02-17 01:30:13] DorianWhack-A-Moto : MikeHunt: Me. I'm saying that. You don't have to agree.
[2017-02-17 01:31:06] rapidtrades : Sultan Pepper: https://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/
[2017-02-17 01:31:44] ubba : lol
[2017-02-17 01:32:03] l3f : rapidtrades: don't use that book
[2017-02-17 01:32:12] l3f : rapid it's written by Zed Shaw
[2017-02-17 01:32:15] l3f : he's an idiot
[2017-02-17 01:32:31] l3f : also he insists on teaching you python2, the deprecated outdated version of python
[2017-02-17 01:32:37] MikeHunt : finex wall just keeps getting bigger
[2017-02-17 01:32:59] ubba : what about finex shorts
[2017-02-17 01:33:11] ubba : did they decrease?
[2017-02-17 01:33:36] MikeHunt : ubba: looks like a whale could take it out in 1 go, down to 1030
[2017-02-17 01:34:41] crmun : okco1n cny new highs weeeee
[2017-02-17 01:34:47] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: code academy has a pretty decent interactive python course
[2017-02-17 01:37:05] -_- : crmun: gotta break 6953 cny for new high
[2017-02-17 01:38:01] crmun : i count since 6300 bottom
[2017-02-17 01:38:43] ubba : either we go up from here or we go down
[2017-02-17 01:38:52] ubba : based on my technical analysis
[2017-02-17 01:38:53] crmun : otherwise you could say 7640
[2017-02-17 01:42:37] sleger : "ubba: either we go up from here or we go down based on my technical analysis" <= powerful TA right there
[2017-02-17 01:42:39] sleger : dummy
[2017-02-17 01:43:34] thxforyourbtc! : whats better perpetual or mar31?
[2017-02-17 01:43:57] sleger : mar31 is better if you want no position open for april's fool
[2017-02-17 01:47:09] l3f : sleger: Looks like okcasino free money 3M's catching up rapidly
[2017-02-17 01:47:52] crmun : could be pre settlement pump
[2017-02-17 01:48:10] bitbdboy : I am new here. How the position work here?I can hold only one position like bitfinex? There all position are merged in to one position. Please help.
[2017-02-17 01:48:16] l3f : crmun: 3M doesn't settle until a month dude
[2017-02-17 01:48:46] crmun : doesnt matter, follows weekly
[2017-02-17 01:48:54] guacamole : l3f: maybe it's a really big, 45 day pump
[2017-02-17 01:49:07] crmun : ;)
[2017-02-17 01:49:26] crmun : catching up spot
[2017-02-17 01:51:12] guacamole : bitbdboy: if you buy and sell in the same market they cancel out, not sure what you're trying to ask
[2017-02-17 01:51:47] guacamole : you can buy and sell different markets if you want, buy multiple, buy one sell one, either way
[2017-02-17 01:52:30] bitbdboy : yeah like bitfienx, thnx guacamole.
[2017-02-17 01:53:30] guacamole : np

[2017-02-17 01:59:48] criptomania : are positions closed?
[2017-02-17 01:59:58] Rick_Ribera : No,
[2017-02-17 02:00:07] guacamole : Yes,
[2017-02-17 02:00:14] DorianWhack-A-Moto : maybe
[2017-02-17 02:00:24] criptomania : cool :D
[2017-02-17 02:00:32] Rick_Ribera : Let me ask my 8 ball
[2017-02-17 02:00:38] guacamole : usually positions are closed and paid out according to the average price over the last hour or so
[2017-02-17 02:00:59] guacamole : based on whatever index is used, not the market itself usually
[2017-02-17 02:02:09] criptomania : thanks @guacamole
[2017-02-17 02:04:13] rapidtrades : and the madness continues
[2017-02-17 02:05:02] rapidtrades : ppl used to ask how could ppl pay the equivalent of a house to buy a tulip
[2017-02-17 02:05:24] rapidtrades : now autists are buying nothing for 1k
[2017-02-17 02:05:25] guacamole : rapidtrades: market behavior definitely weird yesterday with those 2k walls before the pump, combine that with settlement manipulation and it's tricky to tell what's real and what isn't, if some people have insider info, etc.
[2017-02-17 02:05:59] rapidtrades : virtual tokens barely used in commerce
[2017-02-17 02:06:06] rapidtrades : what could go wrong?
[2017-02-17 02:06:14] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: you've been short too long. its affecting your judgment
[2017-02-17 02:06:18] guacamole : well the tulip market only crashed when people learned they were diseased, otherwise maybe we'd all be trading tulip coins
[2017-02-17 02:06:37] DorianWhack-A-Moto : tulips are perishable. not a good store of value
[2017-02-17 02:06:45] DorianWhack-A-Moto : might as well trade cheeseburgers
[2017-02-17 02:07:08] rapidtrades : guess what bitcoins are perishable too
[2017-02-17 02:07:10] guacamole : makes you really feel the value of money when you're trading in cheeseburgers though
[2017-02-17 02:07:39] guacamole : if you have to pay 100,000 cheeseburgers for a house, you're really gonna weigh whether it's worth it
[2017-02-17 02:07:48] ThatNiggerGuy : Bitcoin could one day really be used as a major alternative currency/commodity. Probably eventually market value of gold. But atm it's in a huge bubble. Way over valued.
[2017-02-17 02:07:50] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: how? every bitcoin that has ever existed still exists
[2017-02-17 02:07:54] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: in the UK thats normal price lol
[2017-02-17 02:08:14] DorianWhack-A-Moto : the ability to spend that bitcoin could perish, but not the coin itself
[2017-02-17 02:08:18] ThatNiggerGuy : MikeHunt: I meant like 25k per bitcoin
[2017-02-17 02:08:21] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: internet goes down? how are u gonan spend em?
[2017-02-17 02:08:24] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: o right
[2017-02-17 02:08:40] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: find an autist that knows how write the blockchain on paper
[2017-02-17 02:08:43] guacamole : well bitcoin's current value is based on speculation of its future value or utility, which is hard to evaluate from a "fundamental analysis" point of view
[2017-02-17 02:08:46] rapidtrades : HD fails
[2017-02-17 02:09:01] rapidtrades : Trump EMPs China
[2017-02-17 02:09:05] MikeHunt : guacamole: on a fundamental basis its worth fuck all then because anyone can copy it
[2017-02-17 02:09:17] MikeHunt : like with money
[2017-02-17 02:09:20] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: i've seen a guy on youtube mine bitcoin with pen and paper, its just maths
[2017-02-17 02:09:36] rapidtrades : how long does it take?
[2017-02-17 02:09:39] rapidtrades : 5 years?
[2017-02-17 02:10:03] CutTheLosses : bitcoin works without internet and computers.
[2017-02-17 02:10:08] rapidtrades : ok
[2017-02-17 02:10:18] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: lol i don't think he'd ever actually solve a block, but its possible. hire a theatre full of autists to process transactions with pen and paper
[2017-02-17 02:10:25] ThatNiggerGuy : guacamole: Unfortunately, it is a long way off, from a usability, and market penetration standpoint from even $100/BTC in my opinion.
[2017-02-17 02:10:45] MikeHunt : perhaps the idea is to pump this as high as possible before ETF
[2017-02-17 02:10:47] MikeHunt : massive bubble
[2017-02-17 02:10:48] MikeHunt : massive crash
[2017-02-17 02:10:54] rapidtrades : mining puts the cost at $500-600
[2017-02-17 02:10:56] ThatNiggerGuy : So we'll keep rocking between moon and crashes until people decide on a practical value
[2017-02-17 02:10:59] rapidtrades : we're way over-valued
[2017-02-17 02:11:32] DorianWhack-A-Moto : if the world lost all internet access it would affect all financial markets, and we'd probably be dealing with some sort of catastrophe anyway. back to tulips and seashells
[2017-02-17 02:11:36] ThatNiggerGuy : MikeHunt: Mean opportunity to make twice as much money :)
[2017-02-17 02:11:53] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: gold bish
[2017-02-17 02:12:01] MikeHunt : the top on this could be 1300 (not h17)
[2017-02-17 02:12:22] Papou : top okcoin reduced by 10,000 btc on futures
[2017-02-17 02:12:31] MikeHunt : Papou: just now?
[2017-02-17 02:12:40] rapidtrades : no
[2017-02-17 02:12:51] ThatNiggerGuy : I thought the next bubble was going to around 3-4k, no?
[2017-02-17 02:12:59] rapidtrades : no
[2017-02-17 02:13:13] MikeHunt : im thinking china gonna pump involuntarily tomoz
[2017-02-17 02:13:18] MikeHunt : okc wkly
[2017-02-17 02:13:24] MikeHunt : most positions will be dead shorts
[2017-02-17 02:13:27] MikeHunt : get liq-ed
[2017-02-17 02:13:33] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: true, gold could work. not very transportable though.
[2017-02-17 02:14:15] rapidtrades : bitcoin is barely used now when almost everyone has internet
[2017-02-17 02:15:08] rapidtrades : have there been any estimates for how big the druggie market is?
[2017-02-17 02:15:09] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: and yet look at the price. if adoption increases worldwide even 10% we will be drinking champagne on the moon
[2017-02-17 02:15:16] DorianWhack-A-Moto : or something like that
[2017-02-17 02:15:27] rapidtrades : price is 15% below 2013 highs so there
[2017-02-17 02:15:42] rapidtrades : hope u had fun holding 3+ years for nothing
[2017-02-17 02:15:56] ThatNiggerGuy : DorianWhack-A-Moto: Bitcoin is way too user unfriendly for normies to start using it
[2017-02-17 02:16:00] MikeHunt : majority are short on okc, the wkly is +$90, that means a bunch of buys imo
[2017-02-17 02:16:52] amaru : rapidtrades: lol
[2017-02-17 02:16:52] DorianWhack-A-Moto : ThatNiggerGuy: its the way with all technology. when bitcoin is mainstream the average person won't even need to know about blockchains etc, the tech will be built on top of it and embedded in everyday life
[2017-02-17 02:17:09] rapidtrades : PBOC sets USD/CNY mid-point today at 6.8456 (vs. yesterday at 6.8629)
[2017-02-17 02:18:15] MikeHunt : rapidtrades: thats bearish
[2017-02-17 02:19:13] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: i buy, sell, hold, and use btc. Its worked out pretty well so far.
[2017-02-17 02:19:30] ThatNiggerGuy : DorianWhack-A-Moto: That's true, but we're still a long ways off from that. And that's assuming another crypto doesn't replace it, or worse, it becomes fragmented and multiple currencies are the future. In that case, we may never see $25k/BTC :(
[2017-02-17 02:21:38] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: use it for what?
[2017-02-17 02:21:45] DorianWhack-A-Moto : ThatNiggerGuy: there will always be multiple cryptos. BTC may well end up being bottom of the list, but i don't see it. Cryptocurrency is here to stay.
[2017-02-17 02:22:10] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: to make purchases, pay bills etc
[2017-02-17 02:22:29] rapidtrades : u pay ur bills with btc? directly?
[2017-02-17 02:22:32] rapidtrades : ur so full of shit
[2017-02-17 02:23:03] ThatNiggerGuy : rapidtrades: There are services for that
[2017-02-17 02:23:09] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: livingroomofsatoshi.com australian company, can pay any bill with bitcoin directly.
[2017-02-17 02:23:12] rapidtrades : when's the last time u bought smth for bitcoin? @DorianWhack-A-Moto
[2017-02-17 02:23:14] ThatNiggerGuy : Last year there were pays to pay your rent and shit with btc
[2017-02-17 02:23:23] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: pls that doesn't count
[2017-02-17 02:23:32] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: last purchase was a couple of weeks ago, new sunglasses
[2017-02-17 02:23:45] rapidtrades : how much did they cost
[2017-02-17 02:24:01] DorianWhack-A-Moto : in btc or dollars?
[2017-02-17 02:24:08] rapidtrades : dollars
[2017-02-17 02:24:28] DorianWhack-A-Moto : around $100
[2017-02-17 02:24:55] rapidtrades : CURRENCY OF THE FUTURE RIGHT HERE FOLKS
[2017-02-17 02:25:26] DorianWhack-A-Moto : you wouldn't pay $100 for sunglasses?
[2017-02-17 02:25:41] DorianWhack-A-Moto : they are a fiat store that accepts bitcoin so not sure your point
[2017-02-17 02:25:41] Tetsuo : wow , rapidtrades you´re having a great insult run tonight! thumbs up! beat the bastards
[2017-02-17 02:25:55] rapidtrades : no, everyone i know has only bought smaller items with bitcoins
[2017-02-17 02:26:11] rapidtrades : $30, $50 here and there
[2017-02-17 02:26:27] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: im typing on a macbook i bought with bitcoin
[2017-02-17 02:26:41] DorianWhack-A-Moto : there is literally loads of things you can buy with btc
[2017-02-17 02:26:47] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: directly on by intermediary again?
[2017-02-17 02:27:10] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: directly, the store used bitpay. this was end of 2015 though
[2017-02-17 02:27:14] DorianWhack-A-Moto : not recently
[2017-02-17 02:27:21] ThruTheFloor : rapidtrades: Some stores online and irl take it
[2017-02-17 02:27:49] rapidtrades : yes some stoer take it
[2017-02-17 02:27:52] DorianWhack-A-Moto : coinmap.org good list of places that accept btc
[2017-02-17 02:27:57] MikeHunt : i think crypto will be used universally eventually
[2017-02-17 02:27:57] rapidtrades : 99% stores don't take it
[2017-02-17 02:28:10] MikeHunt : but i think governments will want their own coins
[2017-02-17 02:28:10] ThruTheFloor : rapidtrades: This is a fact
[2017-02-17 02:28:40] rapidtrades : its a fact that bitcoin doesn't deserve a 1k price
[2017-02-17 02:28:46] Tetsuo : advantages of BTC over credit card or cash, nothing but still useful for dark markets
[2017-02-17 02:29:00] ThatNiggerGuy : MikeHunt: FreedomCoin, PutinCoin, PBoCoin
[2017-02-17 02:29:00] rapidtrades : Tetsuo: how big is the druggie market
[2017-02-17 02:29:20] ThatNiggerGuy : rapidtrades: Same as when btc was <$100 around silkroad
[2017-02-17 02:29:45] Tetsuo : rapidtrades: that smart brazilian professor on bitcointalk.org calculated it 2 years ago , and put the price of bitcoin around 60$ if it would be only used for black market activities and not gambling
[2017-02-17 02:29:59] rapidtrades : SELL
[2017-02-17 02:29:59] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: Silkroad did 1.2 Billion of transactions, that was 2013. I'm sure the newer ones are doing similar
[2017-02-17 02:30:32] rapidtrades : so 16+ bil market cap for 1.2 billion of transactions
[2017-02-17 02:30:34] ThatNiggerGuy : Tetsuo: Gambling doesn't affect the price. It's just used as intermediary. You could use GamblePoints, same shit
[2017-02-17 02:30:37] rapidtrades : what could go wrong here?
[2017-02-17 02:30:50] Tetsuo : ThatNiggerGuy: i meant "inbesting" in the future
[2017-02-17 02:30:56] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: BoE coin
[2017-02-17 02:31:03] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: you wear the bear hat well
[2017-02-17 02:31:17] ThatNiggerGuy : Tetsuo: Exactly, and that's the only reason it's so high right now. Tulip Mania
[2017-02-17 02:31:17] rapidtrades : im srs, why would a normie use bitcoin at all?
[2017-02-17 02:31:58] rapidtrades : u have to buy it first incur costs then sell it by intermediary
[2017-02-17 02:32:22] rapidtrades : its much easier and faster to use a CC
[2017-02-17 02:32:43] rapidtrades : the only advantage it has is black/gray market activity
[2017-02-17 02:33:17] ThatNiggerGuy : rapidtrades: That's true, Bitcoin is far more anonymous but normies have "nothing to hide"
[2017-02-17 02:33:51] DorianWhack-A-Moto : I've been gently caressed by Paypal, never been gently caressed from Bitcoin.
[2017-02-17 02:33:59] DorianWhack-A-Moto : Bitcoin is not anonymous
[2017-02-17 02:34:16] DorianWhack-A-Moto : Thats its biggest negative that i see
[2017-02-17 02:34:17] rapidtrades : DorianWhack-A-Moto: rly? never been f*cked by mtgox or bitfinex or soon okc?
[2017-02-17 02:34:55] ThatNiggerGuy : DorianWhack-A-Moto: More than CC's. Buy BTC with cash on LBC, how is anyone gonna trace that shit?
[2017-02-17 02:35:26] DorianWhack-A-Moto : rapidtrades: Ok i got gently caressed with cryptsy, but thats not bitcoin. So yeah exchanges are a weak point.
[2017-02-17 02:35:56] rapidtrades : its the same with paypal tho, u can use other sites or ur CC
[2017-02-17 02:36:04] rapidtrades : noone's forcing u to use paypal
[2017-02-17 02:36:13] Sultan Pepper : ThatNiggerGuy: your name sucks, bro
[2017-02-17 02:36:57] DorianWhack-A-Moto : ThatNiggerGuy: true. but the blockchain is still public, so if anyone associated you with an address they could find you. psuedo-anonymous i think is what it is. kind of but not really
[2017-02-17 02:37:00] ThatNiggerGuy : Sultan Pepper: I don't even get notifications because of the chatcensor. This was a mistake.
[2017-02-17 02:37:14] MikeHunt : i suspect the 5 eyes are already tracking it
[2017-02-17 02:37:31] MikeHunt : NSA did white paper on crypto in 1996
[2017-02-17 02:37:34] MikeHunt : well ahead of curve
[2017-02-17 02:38:14] ThatNiggerGuy : DorianWhack-A-Moto: Pretty much, but for now it's good enough even for dnm stuff. There are true anon cryptos out there tho. Hopefully Bitcoin eventually adopts some of those features
[2017-02-17 02:38:33] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: the barrier to that is democracy
[2017-02-17 02:38:38] MikeHunt : democracy always ends badly
[2017-02-17 02:38:48] MikeHunt : its why bitcoin will eventually be torn apart
[2017-02-17 02:39:10] foobar : what is up with the futures prices being so close to the swap price
[2017-02-17 02:39:12] DorianWhack-A-Moto : Monero is probably the most private crypto out there right now
[2017-02-17 02:39:14] MikeHunt : not that a civil war cant be profitable...
[2017-02-17 02:39:17] ThatNiggerGuy : MikeHunt: Only benevolent dictatorships work but those are just as uncommon as functional democracies
[2017-02-17 02:39:24] foobar : seems like this has been happening a lot lately
[2017-02-17 02:39:36] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: we will have one 1 day
[2017-02-17 02:40:52] ThatNiggerGuy : DorianWhack-A-Moto: I wish all the developers would just work together on a single currency. All that wasted brainpower split off duplicating the work on a thousand different me-too cryptos, Bitcoin would be perfect rn if everyone pooled their efforts there.
[2017-02-17 02:41:20] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: democracy in crypto is what causes it
[2017-02-17 02:41:28] MikeHunt : fracturing
[2017-02-17 02:41:33] MikeHunt : division
[2017-02-17 02:42:26] ThatNiggerGuy : https://xkcd.com/927/ Not sure even a benevolent dictator would completely fix that
[2017-02-17 02:42:40] ThatNiggerGuy : All it takes is one asshole to fork it
[2017-02-17 02:43:24] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: all a dictator has to do is follow logic and they win
[2017-02-17 02:43:58] ThatNiggerGuy : So you're saying it's hopeless
[2017-02-17 02:44:35] MikeHunt : ThatNiggerGuy: for current cryptos, yes
[2017-02-17 02:44:55] MikeHunt : i think cryptos were designed to destroy inefficient governments
[2017-02-17 02:44:58] MikeHunt : liek chinas
[2017-02-17 02:45:58] ThatNiggerGuy : Yeah, Satoshi was probably an Government/NSA taskforce. Still not sure how I feel about that, but I guess they dont really control it now
[2017-02-17 02:48:50] MikeHunt : they dont need to
[2017-02-17 02:48:58] MikeHunt : its like a ballistic missile with a fixed target
[2017-02-17 02:49:08] DorianWhack-A-Moto : Satoshi disappeared right after Gavin told him he was going to a meeting with the CIA
