This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2016-11-30 07:46:41] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 2200 @ 736.84
[2016-11-30 07:47:06] rapidtrades : oh well at least I'm making money
[2016-11-30 07:47:56] arbitrage001 : only less than 1% movement
[2016-11-30 07:48:07] arbitrage001 : so far
[2016-11-30 07:48:35] wurstgelee : But its movement!
[2016-11-30 07:48:50] wurstgelee : was getting bored....
[2016-11-30 07:49:48] rapidtrades : arbitrage001: yeah could be a fakeout
[2016-11-30 07:49:52] brasska : over 8 btc profit from this move on okc futures!!!
[2016-11-30 07:51:13] imabeast : keep moving bitcornz
[2016-11-30 07:51:24] brasska : sooner or later LTC will rise, keep quaterly long on okc
[2016-11-30 07:52:43] billyboy402 : did you see that mega reck . 100K gone , suck that the reck comp is over
[2016-11-30 07:53:02] REKT : Liquidated long on `XMR7D`: Sell 5 @ 0.009941
[2016-11-30 07:53:34] imabeast : holy xmr dump haha
[2016-11-30 07:55:56] mjones : Lol xmr
[2016-11-30 07:56:15] mjones : Brasska see ltc monthly and weekly bbands. Wow!
[2016-11-30 07:57:05] jeeburns : these f***ING fees are outrageous.
[2016-11-30 07:57:23] mjones : Yes
[2016-11-30 07:58:06] billyboy402 : jeeburns: quite cheap when yhou place market order
[2016-11-30 07:58:26] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 6695 @ 737.48
[2016-11-30 07:59:42] jeeburns : billyboy402: I had 3 winning trades in a row and am down because of the fees like wtf i get they gotta make money but fee's on top of fees for every trade, plus oh, guess we should charge a random fee every 8 hours why not, there's no where else semi legit to trade so guess we can.
[2016-11-30 08:00:45] billyboy402 : jeeburns: your either a small scaper making less the 0.075% profit or your over exaggerating
[2016-11-30 08:01:34] billyboy402 : the fee are only 0.075% which is only like 55 cent extra on the buying price of bitcoin
[2016-11-30 08:02:25] billyboy402 : so if you market but and then let it go up just $1 and then market close you should be breaking even ,
[2016-11-30 08:02:28] jeeburns : I market buy/sell every time, but have been easily right on the trades and closed .75+ cents on the right side.
[2016-11-30 08:02:31] rapidtrades : 55 cents is a lot if ur scalping
[2016-11-30 08:03:20] billyboy402 : you can also go to bfx and pay 0.2%
[2016-11-30 08:03:34] mjones : Xbtz16 doesn't have an 8 hour fee
[2016-11-30 08:04:25] billyboy402 : unless yourn tal;king about funding fees . yea they kinda suck when it high like 0.3725% , but at least your not trading Eth 2 months ago paying 3% lol
[2016-11-30 08:06:21] REKT : Liquidated short on `XMR7D`: Buy 1750 @ 0.010007
[2016-11-30 08:07:14] jeeburns : Yea I meant the funding fee. And yea I'll try xbtz16 I suppose but I don't see why anyone would use xbtusd if the fee's are overall higher when they could just click over to xbtz16. Just frustrating when you're right and lose lol. But hey live and learn. I need to set more orders and not market buy/sell apparently.
[2016-11-30 08:08:16] billyboy402 : there a clock up the top . good tip to alway check it before you place a order ,. not point buying if your about to pay a fee in 5 min
[2016-11-30 08:08:51] BitMEX_Wally : jeeburns: From looking at your trading the funding fee does not seem to be a significant component of your PNL
[2016-11-30 08:09:41] jeeburns : BitMEX_Wally: THat is because I've been trying the xbtusd. I'm done with the fee bs. Tell me the fee's aren't insane here.
[2016-11-30 08:11:25] BitMEX_Wally : jeeburns: Your last XBTUSD trade you shorted at 738.25 and bought back at 740.99
[2016-11-30 08:11:37] jeeburns : I just had one bad trade a bit ago and lost a bit, which is fine i screwed up but the others were good
[2016-11-30 08:11:52] jeeburns : Yes, and the others?
[2016-11-30 08:12:04] jeeburns : Or just going to post the losing one when I just said I had winning trades
[2016-11-30 08:12:30] jeeburns : I mean if you wanna put my whole trade history on blast lol. My point is the fee's here are shit
[2016-11-30 08:12:58] jeeburns : But there is no other option. So I'll be setting orders rather than market buying selling. I didn't realize it ate into it that much
[2016-11-30 08:12:58] imabeast : lol
[2016-11-30 08:13:09] rapidtrades : I wouldn't say 'shit' but they're on the higher end if ur a liquidity taker
[2016-11-30 08:13:31] jeeburns : rapidtrades: lol shit was shorter but agreed
[2016-11-30 08:14:38] rapidtrades : in/out with market orders is 0.15% vs okc 0.03%
[2016-11-30 08:17:17] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 2 @ 738.77 :punch: :whale:

[2016-11-30 14:14:17] Rado : 95% of miners have to activate it
[2016-11-30 14:14:31] Rado : seem almost impossible to me
[2016-11-30 14:17:12] ed : so all of this up&down around $750 is only speculation on the fact segwit will be active in the future?
[2016-11-30 14:17:30] RoftheN : why does it need 95% that's such a big majority

[2016-11-30 19:22:45] sleger : import hmac,hashlib signature = hmac.new('chNOOS4KvNXR_Xq4k4c9qsfoKWvnDecLATCRlcBwyKDYnWgO'.encode('utf-8'), 'GET/api/v1/instrument?filter=%7B%22symbol%22%3A+%22XBTM15%22%7D1429631577690'.encode( 'utf-8'), digestmod=hashlib.sha256).hexdigest()
[2016-11-30 19:23:03] arbitrage001 : sleger: any tips on which ide to use?
[2016-11-30 19:23:20] sleger : i just did that on pycharm, but that doesnt explain your issue
[2016-11-30 19:23:32] wurstgelee : doesnt eclipse work for everything?
[2016-11-30 19:23:48] wurstgelee : never used eclipse for python though
[2016-11-30 19:24:28] sleger : same result with anaconda 3.5.2
[2016-11-30 19:24:50] arbitrage001 : sleger: https://docs.python.org/3/library/hmac.html
[2016-11-30 19:24:59] sleger : without ide, directly into the interpreter
[2016-11-30 19:25:02] arbitrage001 : using python 3.6 here
[2016-11-30 19:25:08] arbitrage001 : might be the issue
[2016-11-30 19:25:16] arbitrage001 : since hmac is depracted
[2016-11-30 19:25:25] arbitrage001 : after version 3.4
[2016-11-30 19:25:49] sleger : arbitrage001: likeliest issue is your computer is infected, someone is stealing your valid hmac result to withdraw all your bitcoins, and sending you fake result to make you waste time
[2016-11-30 19:26:13] arbitrage001 : sleger:doubtful lol
[2016-11-30 19:26:15] j8 : it doesn't say hmac is deprecated
[2016-11-30 19:26:27] j8 : on the page you linked
[2016-11-30 19:26:32] sleger : j8 is correct : https://docs.python.org/3.6/library/hmac.html
[2016-11-30 19:26:33] arbitrage001 : j8: Deprecated since version 3.4: MD5 as implicit default digest for digestmod is deprecated.
[2016-11-30 19:26:56] j8 : that's MD5 as implicit default digest for digestmod.
[2016-11-30 19:27:23] arbitrage001 : so, should not change the result?
[2016-11-30 19:27:29] j8 : unrelated
[2016-11-30 19:27:50] j8 : you have an explicit digestmod=hashlib.sha256
[2016-11-30 19:28:29] arbitrage001 : so this is system issue and not coding
[2016-11-30 19:28:33] arbitrage001 : ?
[2016-11-30 19:29:37] sleger : hold on one minute
[2016-11-30 19:29:48] sleger : almost done withdrawing all your bitcoins with your secretkey now
[2016-11-30 19:30:51] sleger : arbitrage001: which OS you use ?
[2016-11-30 19:31:17] sleger : oh btw, can you please confirm on the email I just sent you that appears to come from bitmex, this will help debugging
[2016-11-30 19:31:19] arbitrage001 : win 7
[2016-11-30 19:31:56] sleger : can you open a python3 interpreter directly (no ide)
[2016-11-30 19:32:27] arbitrage001 : you mean use command promt?
[2016-11-30 19:32:31] sleger : yes
[2016-11-30 19:32:44] arbitrage001 : have to locate where python is installed
[2016-11-30 19:32:55] sleger : if you had a real OS it would be easier
[2016-11-30 19:33:04] arbitrage001 : what real os?
[2016-11-30 19:33:09] sleger : mac, linux
[2016-11-30 19:35:34] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBJ24H`: Buy 1 @ 85724
[2016-11-30 19:35:38] sleger : then compare what you get with what you get here : https://www.python.org/shell/ import hmac,hashlib signature = hmac.new('chNOOS4KvNXR_Xq4k4c9qsfoKWvnDecLATCRlcBwyKDYnWgO'.encode('utf-8'), 'GET/api/v1/instrument?filter=%7B%22symbol%22%3A+%22XBTM15%22%7D1429631577690'.encode( 'utf-8'), digestmod=hashlib.sha256).hexdigest() signature
[2016-11-30 19:36:19] arbitrage001 : sleger: ok trying
[2016-11-30 19:43:13] arbitrage001 : sleger: got the right result
[2016-11-30 19:43:22] sleger : where ?
[2016-11-30 19:43:27] arbitrage001 : using python 3.4 from command prompt
[2016-11-30 19:43:45] sleger : you should try with 3.6 from prompt
[2016-11-30 19:44:01] j8 : this is fun eh
[2016-11-30 19:44:01] arbitrage001 : the ide giving error?
[2016-11-30 19:44:10] arbitrage001 : j8: interesting, yes
[2016-11-30 19:44:12] sleger : from prompt
[2016-11-30 19:44:15] sleger : no idea
[2016-11-30 19:44:17] sleger : ide
[2016-11-30 19:44:17] arbitrage001 : took me half day to debug
[2016-11-30 19:44:28] arbitrage001 : 1 simple line
[2016-11-30 19:44:51] j8 : just wait until you have issues with ssl certs
[2016-11-30 19:46:06] rms : so does anyone think xmr will go up from the short term here?
[2016-11-30 19:46:32] wurstgelee : https://twitter.com/BotFomo/status/804048634371330048
[2016-11-30 19:46:34] wurstgelee : ;)
[2016-11-30 19:48:53] CaptainDean : rms: my two cents is if we broke 0.013, we might go up way more, but pure guess here
[2016-11-30 19:49:12] CaptainDean : rms: if we hit a double top, I would short but men don't take my words for cash please
[2016-11-30 19:49:51] rms : yeah... i'm short already, maybe just looking for some emotional reassurance
[2016-11-30 19:54:57] mjones : xmr dooming
[2016-11-30 19:55:27] mjones : nice pump and dump. congrats new bagholders
[2016-11-30 19:56:20] thomaskikansha : wow monero
[2016-11-30 19:57:29] wurstgelee : mjones: nope, not nover yet

[2016-11-30 19:58:34] wurstgelee : wrong tf
[2016-11-30 19:59:49] wurstgelee : mjones: did u ever consider xmr started inverted H&S in august/september? ;)
[2016-11-30 20:02:15] j8 : arbitrage001: maybe the IDE is misinterpreting some of those crazy characters
[2016-11-30 20:03:29] mjones : no i did not
[2016-11-30 20:06:39] arbitrage001 : j8: just finish supper, going to see if version 3.6 gives me same error
[2016-11-30 20:14:43] arbitrage001 : @j8: @sleger think it is version issue, same interpreter running using common prompt still gives wrong result
[2016-11-30 20:14:57] j8 : pretty weird
[2016-11-30 20:15:10] sleger : arbitrage001: by same, you mean python 3.6
[2016-11-30 20:15:11] sleger : ?
[2016-11-30 20:15:12] arbitrage001 : python 3.6 gives different result that is
[2016-11-30 20:15:20] arbitrage001 : sleger: yes
[2016-11-30 20:17:19] sleger : i dont have an install with 3.6 and cant find one online either
[2016-11-30 20:17:54] j8 : python community is really not into being up to date
[2016-11-30 20:18:33] j8 : many are still on 2.7
