This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2016-11-29 19:19:33] rapidtrades : cos their services sector is the majority of the economy
[2016-11-29 19:19:36] wurstgelee : USA have 4x the deficit of Uk which are ranked second
[2016-11-29 19:19:41] wurstgelee : roughly
[2016-11-29 19:19:51] wurstgelee : sooo, how is that anywhere near great?
[2016-11-29 19:20:10] arbitrage001 : UK is going down the sink also
[2016-11-29 19:20:15] wurstgelee : yep
[2016-11-29 19:20:30] wurstgelee : turkey is ranked third with 1/15 the deficit of the US ...
[2016-11-29 19:20:51] rapidtrades : trade deficits don't matter
[2016-11-29 19:20:56] wurstgelee : lol no?
[2016-11-29 19:20:59] wurstgelee : since when?
[2016-11-29 19:21:11] rapidtrades : why would they matter?
[2016-11-29 19:21:21] arbitrage001 : if you have a big gun, it won't matter short term
[2016-11-29 19:21:50] wurstgelee : rapidtrades: debt?
[2016-11-29 19:21:53] arbitrage001 : long term, sooner and later, no country will accept your currency
[2016-11-29 19:22:36] arbitrage001 : debt to be piled up to next generation
[2016-11-29 19:22:46] rapidtrades : no, all the countries running big deficits have a large service sector
[2016-11-29 19:23:16] wurstgelee : us economy has been growing faster than average tho, also strong us $
[2016-11-29 19:23:22] arbitrage001 : rapidtrades: hence all the big deficit countries going to have a day of reckoning
[2016-11-29 19:23:29] wurstgelee : which increases deficit
[2016-11-29 19:24:20] rapidtrades : arbitrage001: why would they have a 'day of reckoning'
[2016-11-29 19:24:48] numero : huh, Ireland is number 4 for trade surplus eh?
[2016-11-29 19:24:49] arbitrage001 : rapidtrades: unable to pay the debt/installment?
[2016-11-29 19:25:17] arbitrage001 : the "cost" of the debt is bear by everyone in the soeciety
[2016-11-29 19:25:25] rapidtrades : no it's not
[2016-11-29 19:25:42] rapidtrades : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_current_account_balance_as_a_percentage_of_GDP
[2016-11-29 19:25:53] numero : I got it . . . UK + Ireland!
[2016-11-29 19:25:57] numero : problem solved
[2016-11-29 19:26:04] numero : mostly ;)
[2016-11-29 19:26:54] rapidtrades : US deficit appears large in nominal terms but as % of GDP its -2.25%
[2016-11-29 19:28:59] arbitrage001 : how is the deficit measure?
[2016-11-29 19:29:08] arbitrage001 : does it include military spending
[2016-11-29 19:29:21] wurstgelee : nope, its exports
[2016-11-29 19:29:23] wurstgelee : vs imports
[2016-11-29 19:29:30] wurstgelee : trade
[2016-11-29 19:29:31] wurstgelee : :)
[2016-11-29 19:29:55] arbitrage001 : then it is not the full picture
[2016-11-29 19:31:41] rapidtrades : Greece, Italy and Japan all have + current account

[2016-11-29 19:38:21] REKT : Liquidated short on `ETC7D`: Buy 2000 @ 0.001035
[2016-11-29 19:43:39] numero : have you ever considered the impact of declining Energy Return On energy Invested (EROI or EROEI) on industrial civilization?
[2016-11-29 19:43:54] numero : to me it is number one issue really, hardly ever talked about
[2016-11-29 19:44:24] numero : tl;dr industrial civilization is pretty much gonna fizzle out soon
[2016-11-29 19:44:41] numero : and life will go on (most likely)
[2016-11-29 19:44:53] sleger : did you forget to take your meds again and read too much zerohedge ? @numero
[2016-11-29 19:45:39] numero : sleger: which meds :) this is from resilience.org and peakprosperity.com, not zerohedge
[2016-11-29 19:45:40] rapidtrades : sleger: I think you should heed his warning and stock up on food, gold and ammo
[2016-11-29 19:46:11] rapidtrades : or knifes since ur a Frenchie with no freedoms
[2016-11-29 19:46:11] numero : nah, learn a useful skill . . . is see a slow collapse
[2016-11-29 19:46:30] numero : if you look closely, you can already see the edges fraying
[2016-11-29 19:46:36] wurstgelee : numero: did that eroi calculation consider the percentage and effect of solar, wind and water power?
[2016-11-29 19:46:38] sleger : funny story : one day I had a full pallet of canned tuna delivered on a (large)trading floor, I got them at 0.30$ each and sold them to other traders at 1$ each
[2016-11-29 19:46:40] wurstgelee : over time?
[2016-11-29 19:47:09] numero : sleger: tbh. I see traders doing really, really well
[2016-11-29 19:47:21] numero : wurstgelee: yes, just a minute . . .
[2016-11-29 19:47:45] wurstgelee : noooooo, i am not really interested in more details :D
[2016-11-29 19:47:54] wurstgelee : that was a yes or no question
[2016-11-29 19:53:06] numero : http://ourrenewablefuture.org/chapter-2/
[2016-11-29 19:53:07] numero : ignorance is bliss :) this ebook's a great intro . . . Figure 2.1 sums up the issue quite clearly imo
[2016-11-29 19:53:47] wurstgelee : thats worldwide i assume
[2016-11-29 19:53:53] numero : the little green strip is "hydro and other renewables"
[2016-11-29 19:54:09] numero : wurstgelee: yes germany is a bit of a special case
[2016-11-29 19:54:17] wurstgelee : yeah i thought of a higher percentage tbh. we have ~ 30% here iirc. more than 100% if sunny and/or windy ;)
[2016-11-29 19:54:21] wurstgelee : *-h
[2016-11-29 19:54:24] RoftheN : What do you think about Fusion energy?
[2016-11-29 19:54:26] numero : still, solar and wind cannot replace liquid fossil fuels
[2016-11-29 19:54:53] numero : RoftheN: energy source of the future! . . . and it always will be ;)
[2016-11-29 19:54:58] wurstgelee : numero: why not?
[2016-11-29 19:55:22] RoftheN : But wouldn't it ruin the world economy at first
[2016-11-29 19:56:07] wurstgelee : sahara. desert. solar energy. for example. :)
[2016-11-29 19:56:44] numero : intermittency and storage issues, massive infrastructure costs
[2016-11-29 19:56:49] wurstgelee : wind energy is possible basically everywhere, more than enough. just lacking storage possibilities atm
[2016-11-29 19:56:57] dasdfasdf : nuclear is always the backbone
[2016-11-29 19:57:03] wurstgelee : right now
[2016-11-29 19:57:07] wurstgelee : due to lack of storage
[2016-11-29 19:57:08] wurstgelee : ;)
[2016-11-29 19:57:15] RoftheN : I think infrastructure is the biggest challenge. Storage less so, as new battery technology is studied a lot lately
[2016-11-29 19:57:16] numero : it comes back to EROI . . . wind and solar on industrial scale depend on fossil-fueled infrastrtucture
[2016-11-29 19:57:50] wurstgelee : numero: only until they are self sustainable due to renewable energy capacitites they produced
[2016-11-29 19:57:57] wurstgelee : energy balance-wise
[2016-11-29 19:59:19] numero : wurstgelee: i certainly hope so :) but I'm afraid electric trucks will never run on wind ans solar energy . . . for example, and they are needed to deploy the infrastructure
[2016-11-29 19:59:32] RoftheN : I think they should just develop better nuclear reactors and not act like they're worse than coal
[2016-11-29 19:59:46] RoftheN : France is doing a good job with Nuclear
[2016-11-29 19:59:55] numero : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EKmNgvUw3k <-- she knows her stuff
[2016-11-29 19:59:59] wurstgelee : numero: already possible. let them run on hydrogen produced with solar energy
[2016-11-29 20:00:02] wurstgelee : for example
[2016-11-29 20:00:03] wurstgelee : :)
[2016-11-29 20:00:20] wurstgelee : no emissions
[2016-11-29 20:00:40] numero : wurstgelee: is there a working prototype? deployed at scale?
[2016-11-29 20:00:48] RoftheN : And we should probably find abetter way to use the power of volcanoes
[2016-11-29 20:01:09] wurstgelee : numero: hamburg has a few dozen of hydrogen bus cars in public transport for example
[2016-11-29 20:01:16] wurstgelee : for years
[2016-11-29 20:01:24] numero : well that's a good start
[2016-11-29 20:01:26] wurstgelee : so yes, i'd consider that a working implementation
[2016-11-29 20:01:49] numero : let's see, we have about . . . 8 years? tick-tock
[2016-11-29 20:02:02] RoftheN : 8 years till what?
[2016-11-29 20:02:17] numero : until the EROI of the major oil sources declines to roughly 3:1
[2016-11-29 20:02:37] wurstgelee : so....?
[2016-11-29 20:02:48] wurstgelee : what happens then? a celebration?
[2016-11-29 20:03:02] numero : at which point it is estimated by better minds than mine the minimal functions of industrial civilization can no longer be maintained
[2016-11-29 20:03:13] numero : wurstgelee: a reorganization of sorts
[2016-11-29 20:03:27] numero : it is better to look at it as a celebration . . .
[2016-11-29 20:03:50] numero : https://www.demain-lefilm.com/en/film
[2016-11-29 20:06:56] rapidtrades : numero: a socialist reorganization?
[2016-11-29 20:07:34] numero : rapidtrades: i certainly hope not, I hear those stories don't end well
[2016-11-29 20:08:33] numero : large centralized states will struggle to survive, it will be more local . . . the responses
[2016-11-29 20:08:56] RoftheN : So what happens to Bitcoin in 8 years?
[2016-11-29 20:09:58] numero : moon
[2016-11-29 20:12:28] RoftheN : :)
[2016-11-29 20:13:37] rapidtrades : or 0 :)
[2016-11-29 20:18:39] wurstgelee : eth back to .011
[2016-11-29 20:19:30] numero : 732 USD --> moon --> 0
[2016-11-29 20:19:49] numero : we'll all be out of it by then :)
[2016-11-29 20:20:59] wurstgelee : i am long, we may take off now
[2016-11-29 20:21:51] mjones : oshi. we longing zec now. wait for me
[2016-11-29 20:22:02] wurstgelee : btc
[2016-11-29 20:22:07] wurstgelee : ;)
[2016-11-29 20:23:47] rapidtrades : i think bitcoin died
[2016-11-29 20:24:05] Coconuter : bill gates bots
[2016-11-29 20:24:07] Coconuter : yuppiiiii
[2016-11-29 20:24:32] wurstgelee : rapidtrades: it's playing dead
[2016-11-29 20:25:18] rapidtrades : *kicks bitcoin
[2016-11-29 20:42:37] rapidtrades : ETC > ETH
[2016-11-29 20:44:57] Tetsuo : buy side @Stamp seems ready

[2016-11-29 20:55:42] lugo : soo, trollbox isn't mirrored to irc right now?
[2016-11-29 20:56:07] wurstgelee : it is
[2016-11-29 20:56:11] wurstgelee : no?
[2016-11-29 20:56:21] inconspic : is bitmex turning to chinese traders to increase liquidity?
[2016-11-29 20:56:41] wurstgelee : ?
[2016-11-29 20:56:42] lugo : only in one direction :)
[2016-11-29 20:57:46] hey1234 : testing bitmex IRC
[2016-11-29 20:58:13] mjones : ohi
[2016-11-29 20:58:40] hey1234 : support warren g
[2016-11-29 20:58:52] hey1234 : wat wat wat
[2016-11-29 20:58:57] hey1234 : quit
[2016-11-29 20:59:23] BitMEX_Sam : Hmm, it appears we have an IRC bouncer bug
[2016-11-29 20:59:25] BitMEX_Sam : Will take a look.
[2016-11-29 20:59:28] mjones : why do irc messages appear in here anyways
[2016-11-29 20:59:41] BitMEX_Sam : mjones: To allow people to participate in chat when they're not on the site
[2016-11-29 20:59:59] mjones : ah. then yeah, make sure people in IRC can see what we say in here
[2016-11-29 21:01:40] inconspic : how do you make sure people are not spoofing their idents
[2016-11-29 21:03:37] inconspic : oh I see, it's onedirectional
[2016-11-29 21:03:39] inconspic : nvm
[2016-11-29 21:10:30] BitMEX_Sam : It's not that it's unidirectional, it's that we apply the same username restrictions to IRC users
[2016-11-29 21:10:43] STRML : IRC bouncer is fixed, by the way.
[2016-11-29 21:13:02] chokeonmychode : i'm choking
[2016-11-29 21:15:28] wurstgelee : STRML: thanks alt-sam
[2016-11-29 21:27:30] jesperf : STRML is the *real* Sam
[2016-11-29 21:28:13] jesperf : look at all that junk inside his trunk: https://github.com/strml
[2016-11-29 21:28:30] jesperf : he's a pretty cool dude
[2016-11-29 21:29:46] Tetsuo : apparently he like´s "Schnitzel"
[2016-11-29 21:32:22] jesperf : he like is? or he likes? also, who doesn't like a schnitzel?
[2016-11-29 21:33:39] j8 : BitMEX_Sam: you wrote healthcare.gov? it can't be true
[2016-11-29 21:34:03] BitMEX_Sam : j8: No, worked on a community rehabilitation project
[2016-11-29 21:35:44] j8 : i see
[2016-11-29 21:36:09] wurstgelee : so you're an admin with a rehab-related background
[2016-11-29 21:36:12] wurstgelee : 8)
[2016-11-29 21:37:03] wurstgelee : stamp is ready
[2016-11-29 21:40:20] BitMEX_Sam : Essentially when healthcare.gov went up, the site was so poorly designed/optimized/cached that I got a full dump of the frontend source and a lot of introspection into its performance
[2016-11-29 21:40:36] BitMEX_Sam : Just a few hours of dev work would have saved them terabytes of bandwidth on day 1
[2016-11-29 21:40:50] j8 : wow
[2016-11-29 21:42:13] j8 : seems like governments are just bad at websites. behind the times anyway
[2016-11-29 21:45:00] wurstgelee : BitMEX_Sam: any chance we could get adjustable chat width? ;)
[2016-11-29 21:45:18] wurstgelee : window width that is.
[2016-11-29 21:45:31] BitMEX_Sam : wurstgelee: I was looking into that, because of the way it's laid out that's actually rather difficult to do - but I have some options
[2016-11-29 21:45:42] BitMEX_Sam : In the next release I've made a few changes to fit more lines of text on the screen.
[2016-11-29 21:46:58] wurstgelee :
[2016-11-29 22:00:49] BitMEX_Sam : wurstgelee: If you have a second, try out https://testnet.bitmex.com?
[2016-11-29 22:01:27] wurstgelee : does my regular account work there?
[2016-11-29 22:01:31] wurstgelee : as in same account?
[2016-11-29 22:01:39] wurstgelee : never used it :)
[2016-11-29 22:01:50] Prince : This irc is nifty
[2016-11-29 22:02:23] BitMEX_Sam : Ah - no, it doesn't @wurstgelee
[2016-11-29 22:02:28] BitMEX_Sam : They're completely separate environments.
[2016-11-29 22:02:43] wurstgelee : sec
[2016-11-29 22:04:10] Prince : Stamp is looking hot. See if it does anything or just wants to play head games
[2016-11-29 22:06:44] wurstgelee : BitMEX_Sam: down for maintenance :P
[2016-11-29 22:06:49] wurstgelee : just as i logged in
[2016-11-29 22:07:05] BitMEX_Sam : :) Just a sec
[2016-11-29 22:07:24] Coconuter : hey how does this marging works man
[2016-11-29 22:08:05] Coconuter : this liquidation is full account liquidation !?! or just for the contract separated ?
[2016-11-29 22:08:28] BitMEX_Sam : Coconuter: Depends on whether or not you chose `Cross` leverage
[2016-11-29 22:08:30] flux : depends if you set it to cross
[2016-11-29 22:08:42] Coconuter : because the ROE% is +2-3% and pnl is 0.0000
[2016-11-29 22:08:45] Coconuter : whole day
[2016-11-29 22:08:58] wurstgelee : small position?
[2016-11-29 22:09:07] Coconuter : yeah size 4

[2016-11-30 00:31:58] sleger : ok that makes total sense...
[2016-11-30 00:41:59] Adriana : I think Bitmex should add a Russian trollbox section too

[2016-11-30 00:48:56] XXXX : I use hidden orders sometimes. Certainly not to feel like Big Boys but to make sure that I am ahead in the queue.
[2016-11-30 00:49:25] sleger : Adriana: he only speaks Klingon and uses google translate for everything else
[2016-11-30 00:49:53] Adriana : sleger: I know "stop a douchebag", the project has Putin's blessing
[2016-11-30 00:50:14] sleger : XXXX: ahead in what queue ? there is almost never 2 people at the same price ???

[2016-11-30 00:59:48] Tetsuo : sleger: Друг мой, вспомни, что молчать хорошо, безопасно и красиво.
[2016-11-30 01:00:32] sleger : Tetsuo: лечь в постель ты пьян

[2016-11-30 01:08:46] Tetsuo : Я иду спать сейчас читаешь немного Dostojewskjs "Униженные и оскорбленные", прежде чем, я мог бы узнать что-нибудь о вас в нем.
[2016-11-30 01:09:01] sleger : numero: when you have such an awesome girlfriend like I do, one needs to step up ! ;) @Adriana

[2016-11-30 01:13:30] Adriana : Tetsuo: Спасибо, дорогой
[2016-11-30 01:15:04] Adriana : I hope to see 800$ Bitcoin when I get up in 7 hours
[2016-11-30 01:30:54] Tetsuo : Я буду спать всю ночь, чтобы быть там, когда вы проснетесь!
[2016-11-30 01:33:29] Tetsuo : last words for the troll box tonight: Тем не менее, некоторая тупость ума, кажется, необходимым элементом, чтобы быть если не каждый активный человек, но каждый серьезный коллекционер денег

[2016-11-30 02:04:31] mjones : eth exploding upwards
[2016-11-30 02:26:33] Tetsuo : Is anyone watchin "Westworld"?
[2016-11-30 02:29:18] BitMEX_Greg : Tetsuo: You looking for a ban>?
[2016-11-30 02:29:22] BitMEX_Greg : *again
[2016-11-30 02:30:14] XXXX : spread on ETH here are ridiculous. How can you expect someone to go long or short at 30x margin with 1% spread? thats 30% of your money gone in spread while opening position and another 30% while closing position. add to it the fees and it comes to circa 90% of your balance. No money to be made.
[2016-11-30 02:30:16] Tetsuo : :scream:
[2016-11-30 02:34:46] rapidtrades : chat is messed up, refresh to see
[2016-11-30 02:36:22] rapidtrades : i had to zoom out all the way to type this
[2016-11-30 02:36:51] rapidtrades : the typing box doesn't show up in normal zoom
[2016-11-30 02:38:04] realTetsuo : Thanks rapidwhore
[2016-11-30 02:40:48] mjones : XXXX: i know man. gotta be lucky on 33.3x margin. even 25x with the way it swings sometimes
[2016-11-30 02:41:24] mjones : but the reward can be huge
[2016-11-30 03:42:29] Rado : rapidtrades: what are the commissions on your FX broker?
[2016-11-30 04:20:16] 7b : test
[2016-11-30 05:11:35] rms : i think the only people using leverage that high on the things other than XBT are people playing with really small amounts of money
[2016-11-30 05:11:43] rms : like when we see someone get liquidated with a 100 ether long
[2016-11-30 05:12:07] rms : with real money, 2x leverage is sane, 5x is reasonable, 10x is really pushing it
[2016-11-30 05:26:56] rapidtrades : huh chat fixed now
[2016-11-30 05:28:53] rapidtrades : Yuan below 6.90 and looks weak
[2016-11-30 05:29:03] rapidtrades : dunno how bitcoin can stay high
[2016-11-30 05:30:08] rapidtrades : this would be the 5th day in a row of Yuan gains
[2016-11-30 05:31:28] Coconuter : lol traded ethxbt and from 0.8xbt i made kept only 0.2
[2016-11-30 05:31:49] Coconuter : never trading this anymore here
[2016-11-30 05:32:41] rms : ...i see it as bitcoin would be on the moon if not for blocksize and segwith FUD
[2016-11-30 05:32:54] rms : i'm pretty confident we ATH after that is finally settled
[2016-11-30 05:32:58] rms : unless it is never settled
[2016-11-30 05:33:26] rapidtrades : oh right
[2016-11-30 05:33:40] rapidtrades : cos there's soooo many ppl waiting to use bitcoin but can't cos blocks are full
[2016-11-30 05:33:58] rms : it's about the FUD
[2016-11-30 05:34:46] rapidtrades : sounds like ur making up reasons to go long
[2016-11-30 05:35:07] rms : actually i'm making up reasons to close my longs and wait until the blocksize debate is settled to reopen
[2016-11-30 05:35:17] micmix : my scenario: blocksize/segwit debate never settles, bitcoin gets stuck with 1mb block no segwit, everyone moves to zcash
[2016-11-30 05:35:35] arbitrage001 : Tetsuo: i watch wastworld, pretty awesome
[2016-11-30 05:35:45] rapidtrades : I think that's the most realistic scenario @micmix
[2016-11-30 05:36:06] micmix : zcash overtakes bitcoin in 2017, better go long now ;-)
[2016-11-30 05:36:31] rapidtrades : already one step ahead of you buddy!
[2016-11-30 05:36:33] arbitrage001 : micmix: i hope you are right
[2016-11-30 05:36:50] arbitrage001 : but before that, i hope zcash crash a bit first
[2016-11-30 05:36:57] arbitrage001 : need to load up more
[2016-11-30 05:36:59] rapidtrades : I have a feeling bitcorn is gonna dump $40-50 out of the blue
[2016-11-30 05:37:12] rapidtrades : like poof and its gone
[2016-11-30 05:38:11] arbitrage001 : rapidtrades: when people figure btc developers cant compromise, it will drop more than 50 dollars
[2016-11-30 05:38:18] rapidtrades : price action is bullish but the only reason we are going up past two months is weak Yuan
[2016-11-30 05:38:22] rapidtrades : now that's gone
[2016-11-30 05:38:37] arbitrage001 : i dont really think democracy work
[2016-11-30 05:39:53] rms : also uncertainty about macro situation with regards to trump presidency
[2016-11-30 05:40:44] rapidtrades : 'uncertainty' is a catchall, doesn't mean anything
[2016-11-30 05:41:25] arbitrage001 : uncertainty means investors will not invest
[2016-11-30 05:41:35] arbitrage001 : unless the reward is high
[2016-11-30 05:41:51] rapidtrades : not really, it means stupid retail investors will not invest
[2016-11-30 05:42:25] rms : "uncertainty" about the macro situation means fears that record deficit spending and tax cuts could lead to a weakened dollar and higher inflation
[2016-11-30 05:42:40] rms : but i think modern economics may be too stupid anymore for inflation to follow US deficit spending
[2016-11-30 05:42:42] rms : i guess we'll see
[2016-11-30 05:42:45] rms : i forget what that theory is called
[2016-11-30 05:42:49] rms : anyone know what i'm talking about?
[2016-11-30 05:43:18] arbitrage001 : rms: there is something called competitive devaluation
[2016-11-30 05:43:26] arbitrage001 : beggar thy neighbors
[2016-11-30 05:44:00] arbitrage001 : raising tariffs and devaluation will be countered by other central banks
[2016-11-30 05:44:15] arbitrage001 : we dont live in a static world
[2016-11-30 05:44:48] rapidtrades : Dollar will skyrocket in that environment
[2016-11-30 05:45:04] arbitrage001 : short to middle term, yes
[2016-11-30 05:45:16] arbitrage001 : long term, the country is fucked
[2016-11-30 05:45:39] rapidtrades : only 10% of US GDP is exports
[2016-11-30 05:46:02] rapidtrades : It will hurt the world and US will look great in comparison
[2016-11-30 05:46:36] arbitrage001 : dangerous game to play
[2016-11-30 05:46:41] rapidtrades : Germany, China Japan will suffer most
[2016-11-30 05:46:52] rapidtrades : prolly China cos he singled them out
[2016-11-30 05:46:52] arbitrage001 : what if monkey takes over the world and make human slaves
[2016-11-30 05:47:45] rapidtrades : Paradoxically that may lead to further usd/cnh gains and consequently higher bitcoin prices

[2016-11-30 06:42:56] rms : someone on poloniex just wanted to catch the falling knife on margin
[2016-11-30 06:43:20] rms : i think we're still in a downtrend, but in the long run i'm still positive on ether...
[2016-11-30 06:45:49] rapidtrades : u seem to be positive on every crypto
[2016-11-30 06:46:15] jeeburns : started the day with .10 btc. Made 2 trades where I sold $1 above or below entry price, i know have .092. FEES :))))))
[2016-11-30 06:48:20] rms : ...i think i'm holding zec, eth, and btc, that's it
[2016-11-30 06:48:39] rms : vaguely positive on monero but think zec is a better buy cause i missed the xmr bubble
[2016-11-30 06:48:51] rapidtrades : wise man
[2016-11-30 06:50:21] rms : i'm just a degenerate gambler chasing my losses
[2016-11-30 06:50:38] rms : i do diversify my risk with penny stocks sometimes
[2016-11-30 06:50:51] rapidtrades : lol
[2016-11-30 07:04:01] brasska : why r u long zec, it only moves down and will keep falling when more coins will be supplied? this is a pure short
[2016-11-30 07:15:50] XXXX : ETH shorts popping in 3 2 1. anytime now
[2016-11-30 07:21:02] rapidtrades : brasska: thank u for telling us about the increasing supply
[2016-11-30 07:21:10] rapidtrades : you are the first person here to mention that
[2016-11-30 07:21:56] brasska : the question was why people r going long?
[2016-11-30 07:22:36] brasska : i think spot price will follow futures price soon, not vice versa
[2016-11-30 07:24:37] rapidtrades : brasska: why are ppl going long?
[2016-11-30 07:24:51] rapidtrades : idk you tell me...u seem to know everything
[2016-11-30 07:28:45] brasska : i think the reason is stupidity and gridiness, zec is pure pump and dump scam coin like many others on polo
[2016-11-30 07:30:23] rapidtrades : ok
[2016-11-30 07:32:07] HostFat : Are you going to add P2P lending?
[2016-11-30 07:32:48] brasska : there is no spot, what for for is lending needed?
[2016-11-30 07:35:12] orly : brasska: unfortunately, market prices do not necessarily correspond to 'value'
[2016-11-30 07:35:34] orly : it's not unreasonable to go long on a worthless coin, hoping that even bigger fools will get caught in the hype :/
[2016-11-30 07:36:50] XXXX : BitMEX_Greg: entering 2fa on mobile is tedious. Can you optimise ike polo?

[2016-11-30 07:57:05] jeeburns : these f***ING fees are outrageous.
[2016-11-30 07:57:23] mjones : Yes
[2016-11-30 07:58:06] billyboy402 : jeeburns: quite cheap when yhou place market order
[2016-11-30 07:58:26] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 6695 @ 737.48
[2016-11-30 07:59:42] jeeburns : billyboy402: I had 3 winning trades in a row and am down because of the fees like wtf i get they gotta make money but fee's on top of fees for every trade, plus oh, guess we should charge a random fee every 8 hours why not, there's no where else semi legit to trade so guess we can.
[2016-11-30 08:00:45] billyboy402 : jeeburns: your either a small scaper making less the 0.075% profit or your over exaggerating
[2016-11-30 08:01:34] billyboy402 : the fee are only 0.075% which is only like 55 cent extra on the buying price of bitcoin
[2016-11-30 08:02:25] billyboy402 : so if you market but and then let it go up just $1 and then market close you should be breaking even ,
[2016-11-30 08:02:28] jeeburns : I market buy/sell every time, but have been easily right on the trades and closed .75+ cents on the right side.
[2016-11-30 08:02:31] rapidtrades : 55 cents is a lot if ur scalping
[2016-11-30 08:03:20] billyboy402 : you can also go to bfx and pay 0.2%
[2016-11-30 08:03:34] mjones : Xbtz16 doesn't have an 8 hour fee
[2016-11-30 08:04:25] billyboy402 : unless yourn tal;king about funding fees . yea they kinda suck when it high like 0.3725% , but at least your not trading Eth 2 months ago paying 3% lol
[2016-11-30 08:06:21] REKT : Liquidated short on `XMR7D`: Buy 1750 @ 0.010007
[2016-11-30 08:07:14] jeeburns : Yea I meant the funding fee. And yea I'll try xbtz16 I suppose but I don't see why anyone would use xbtusd if the fee's are overall higher when they could just click over to xbtz16. Just frustrating when you're right and lose lol. But hey live and learn. I need to set more orders and not market buy/sell apparently.
[2016-11-30 08:08:16] billyboy402 : there a clock up the top . good tip to alway check it before you place a order ,. not point buying if your about to pay a fee in 5 min
[2016-11-30 08:08:51] BitMEX_Wally : jeeburns: From looking at your trading the funding fee does not seem to be a significant component of your PNL
[2016-11-30 08:09:41] jeeburns : BitMEX_Wally: THat is because I've been trying the xbtusd. I'm done with the fee bs. Tell me the fee's aren't insane here.
[2016-11-30 08:11:25] BitMEX_Wally : jeeburns: Your last XBTUSD trade you shorted at 738.25 and bought back at 740.99
[2016-11-30 08:11:37] jeeburns : I just had one bad trade a bit ago and lost a bit, which is fine i screwed up but the others were good
[2016-11-30 08:11:52] jeeburns : Yes, and the others?
[2016-11-30 08:12:04] jeeburns : Or just going to post the losing one when I just said I had winning trades
[2016-11-30 08:12:30] jeeburns : I mean if you wanna put my whole trade history on blast lol. My point is the fee's here are shit
[2016-11-30 08:12:58] jeeburns : But there is no other option. So I'll be setting orders rather than market buying selling. I didn't realize it ate into it that much
[2016-11-30 08:12:58] imabeast : lol
