This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2016-10-22 17:16:26] RocketScience : If Japan declares another QE and USD/JPY rises back to 120, then you automatically have +15% gains
[2016-10-22 17:19:24] arbitrage001 : btc would be seen as tulip if it crash down the road

[2016-10-22 17:21:09] arbitrage001 : or ask or 1 cents with no bid?
[2016-10-22 17:21:14] arbitrage001 : ask of

[2016-10-22 17:22:42] RocketScience : it will always recover
[2016-10-22 17:22:44] +1 : arbitrage001: You think BTC can really go that low?
[2016-10-22 17:25:04] arbitrage001 : +1: anything is possible
[2016-10-22 17:26:06] arbitrage001 : +1: we have seen many 6 sigma events in the last 10 years
[2016-10-22 17:26:19] rapidtrades : 'it will always recover'
[2016-10-22 17:26:28] rapidtrades : ^can u believe that shit
[2016-10-22 17:26:39] arbitrage001 : which is only suppose to happen once every few millions years
[2016-10-22 17:26:42] poes : btc is so overrated
[2016-10-22 17:26:56] poes : its a software product thats not production ready
[2016-10-22 17:27:10] poes : its not even secure, and fully decentral
[2016-10-22 17:27:29] rapidtrades : it's secure enough
[2016-10-22 17:27:43] rapidtrades : at least on the network side
[2016-10-22 17:28:20] poes : on the other hand it can always include technologies used by altcoins in the future and it has the biggest market cap
[2016-10-22 17:29:26] dasdfasdf : not production ready?
[2016-10-22 17:29:27] poes : but thanks to the mining pools its not fully decentralized yet
[2016-10-22 17:29:43] poes : its just that there isnt any better alternative
[2016-10-22 17:29:54] poes : and there is such big demand for it
[2016-10-22 17:29:55] dasdfasdf : Like everthing
[2016-10-22 17:31:09] MrRGnome : poes: A blockchain using PoW is an economic security model. Bitcoin by an enormous margin has the most secure economic security model
[2016-10-22 17:31:40] poes : MrRGnome: i agree, mining pools though
[2016-10-22 17:33:40] poes : mining pools, asic mining farms, transaction limit, transactions not instant, if these things are fixed bitcoin price would skyrocket
[2016-10-22 17:33:59] poes : the risk though
[2016-10-22 17:34:27] dasdfasdf : segwit and lightningn is what will take this to 1100 and beyond. as they bring instant payments and unlimited* transactoins
[2016-10-22 17:34:54] dasdfasdf : ASIC is good as the only thing the machines can be used for is BTC.
[2016-10-22 17:36:10] +1 : arbitrage001: sorry, what is 6 sigma? Tried google but not simple enough
[2016-10-22 17:37:13] sleger : sigma = standard dev
[2016-10-22 17:39:05] +1 : sleger: and what does the number 6 mean?
[2016-10-22 17:39:18] sleger : it's the one between 5 and 6
[2016-10-22 17:39:22] sleger : *5 and 7
[2016-10-22 17:40:08] +1 : sleger: LOL -- serious man
[2016-10-22 17:40:24] sleger : "serious" ??
[2016-10-22 17:40:30] sleger : and your question is "and what does the number 6 mean?"
[2016-10-22 17:40:54] dasdfasdf : What does the 6 mean in "6 sigma"
[2016-10-22 17:40:56] sleger : what does the letter F mean
[2016-10-22 17:41:00] +1 : sleger: the number 6 before the word sigma
[2016-10-22 17:41:09] sleger : it means six
[2016-10-22 17:41:12] +1 : dasdfasdf: yes, tq
[2016-10-22 17:41:17] dasdfasdf : sleger: ah
[2016-10-22 17:41:17] dasdfasdf : ok

[2016-10-22 17:41:59] dasdfasdf : What is an example of a 6 sigma event?
[2016-10-22 17:42:31] sleger : dasdfasdf: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=6+sigma+events
[2016-10-22 17:42:54] dasdfasdf : You guys are so fun
[2016-10-22 17:43:01] rapidtrades : the odds for those X-sigma events are calculated on normal distribution...which the markets are not
[2016-10-22 17:43:21] rapidtrades : in short, they're a BS stat
[2016-10-22 17:44:40] dasdfasdf : twice in a billion
[2016-10-22 17:46:20] +1 : sleger: fuck thats funny! lmgtfy.com i'm going to pass it on

[2016-10-22 17:48:18] +1 : oops.. what is the woodchipper?
[2016-10-22 17:48:25] RocketScience : 0kcoin
[2016-10-22 17:48:30] RocketScience : try writing ok.coin together
[2016-10-22 17:48:44] +1 : okcoin
[2016-10-22 17:48:54] +1 : hahaha
[2016-10-22 17:49:02] rapidtrades : now try the N-word
[2016-10-22 17:49:07] REKT : Liquidated long on `ETHXBT`: Sell 2 @ 0.01834
[2016-10-22 17:49:14] +1 : nigger
[2016-10-22 17:49:20] +1 : LOL

[2016-10-22 18:04:16] dasdfasdf : Will stamp break 650?
[2016-10-22 18:04:41] mjones : glad to see bitcoin/yen going up
[2016-10-22 18:05:15] mjones : looks like the market maker on every friday reached his limit
[2016-10-22 18:30:16] BTCDJS : +1: -1. Not cool
[2016-10-22 18:31:17] +1 : BTCDJS: what is?
[2016-10-22 18:32:38] BTCDJS : You know what you did
[2016-10-22 18:35:52] +1 : BTCDJS: Sorry if I hurt you or anyone else.
[2016-10-22 18:36:08] REKT : Liquidated long on `ETHXBT`: Sell 98 @ 0.01823
[2016-10-22 18:36:35] mjones : down goes eth
[2016-10-22 18:39:18] dasdfasdf : after 12 dollars where does it stop?
[2016-10-22 18:58:22] Anon39 : how long is the "trading session"?
[2016-10-22 18:58:59] justinlooking : 8h\
[2016-10-22 18:59:48] Anon39 : 8h for all trading pair?
[2016-10-22 19:00:33] RocketScience : for swaps
[2016-10-22 19:01:05] RocketScience : 7 days futures are seven days and so on
[2016-10-22 19:01:40] Anon39 : seems like zcash is 24h?
[2016-10-22 19:01:59] RocketScience : https://www.bitmex.com/app/seriesGuide/ZEC
[2016-10-22 19:02:08] RocketScience : i don't know
[2016-10-22 19:03:12] Anon39 : thanks i guess it start after every rebalance
[2016-10-22 20:00:33] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 125000 @ 655.29 **REKTosaurus** :slot_machine: :moneybag: :fire:
[2016-10-22 20:00:33] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 26209 @ 656.18 **MEGA-REKT** :boom:
[2016-10-22 20:08:21] aethlios : so now because we have x100 leverage the max funding is 0.375% every 8 hours??? (1%-0.5%)*75%= 0.375% can someone confirm??
[2016-10-22 20:10:40] j8 : aethlios: yeah i was just looking at that. it seems so. big change from 1.125% when it was 50x
[2016-10-22 20:11:34] arbitrage001 : where is the info?
[2016-10-22 20:11:43] j8 : https://www.bitmex.com/app/swapsGuide
[2016-10-22 20:12:57] arbitrage001 : i stiill reas it as 1.125
[2016-10-22 20:13:04] arbitrage001 : read
[2016-10-22 20:13:13] j8 : i don't
[2016-10-22 20:13:24] aethlios : arbitrage001: the example they have is with x50
[2016-10-22 20:14:09] aethlios : that's why predicted is stable 0.375% now
[2016-10-22 20:14:18] arbitrage001 : the cap said 1.125
[2016-10-22 20:14:33] j8 : just means they'll have to lower the leverage again if 0.375% is not enough
[2016-10-22 20:14:35] arbitrage001 : which take 3 funding period to reach
[2016-10-22 20:15:02] j8 : $1. The absolute Funding Rate is capped at 75% of the Initial Margin - Maintenance Margin.$
[2016-10-22 20:15:34] j8 : ignore those $'s
[2016-10-22 20:15:35] arbitrage001 : i dont think they take changing leverage into account
[2016-10-22 20:15:37] +1 : on 20th we had more than 0.375% https://www.bitmex.com/app/fundingHistory?start=0
[2016-10-22 20:16:20] aethlios : @+1 no, look 8hour, not the daily.
[2016-10-22 20:17:36] +1 : aethlios: oops ;)
[2016-10-22 20:18:39] aethlios : this could create a "permanent" premium in a bull market, because cheaper cost to long and higher leverage.
[2016-10-22 20:18:58] aethlios : longs are much better now.
[2016-10-22 20:19:20] j8 : permanent until they change things.. that's what happened last time
[2016-10-22 20:19:39] aethlios : can have double position with same capital and 1/3 of the cost to long, so 6 times better.
[2016-10-22 20:21:40] j8 : really 1% a day should be plenty, but people are crazy.. before we had over 1% per 8 hours for a couple days
[2016-10-22 20:23:00] aethlios : yes I agree is much more fair now, 1.125% daily is good compensation for arbitragers to offer liq. and bulls can have a decent profit too, so more liquidity for all.
[2016-10-22 20:24:24] j8 : the market kind of falls apart if it's trading away from the mark price for long periods though. liquidations will not clear and everyone will get ADL'd
[2016-10-22 20:26:20] arbitrage001 : .375 cap is too small on a strong directional market
[2016-10-22 20:26:45] arbitrage001 : last time, we had 3-5% premium for longer than a few days
[2016-10-22 20:30:13] j8 : 9000 yen spread on XBJZ16.. market maker is being shy
[2016-10-22 20:30:55] miramm1115 : j8: there is no MM, only my small bot left
[2016-10-22 20:31:52] j8 : there was someone quoting 10000's an hour or two ago, seems to hit his limit pretty fast
[2016-10-22 20:33:40] arbitrage001 : wish they add usd pair
[2016-10-22 20:33:48] arbitrage001 : for dec contract
[2016-10-22 20:36:07] BigDaddyBigDick : would be nice
[2016-10-22 20:36:14] habibi : and quantos*
[2016-10-22 20:39:59] Rado : arbitrage001: why does it matter if it's USD or JPY?
[2016-10-22 20:40:09] Rado : ibtrade both the same way
[2016-10-22 20:40:22] arbitrage001 : Rado: my brain cant swich
[2016-10-22 20:40:23] j8 : not if USD/JPY moves
[2016-10-22 20:40:29] Rado : unless you think there will be more MMs
[2016-10-22 20:40:47] arbitrage001 : and what j8 mentions
[2016-10-22 20:41:14] mjones : JPY price is lagging behind
[2016-10-22 20:41:20] j8 : it's sketchy to use one exchange as the index, and there is more liquidity in BTC/USD or BTC/CNY anyway
[2016-10-22 20:41:30] mjones : someone has been selling 1000 BTC keeping price low.
[2016-10-22 20:41:51] Rado : j8: I trade the instrument price, not BTC price
[2016-10-22 20:42:22] Rado : mjones: we need $10 correction so Incan close my small short ;)
[2016-10-22 20:42:27] arbitrage001 : Rado: hedgers need hedging instrument
[2016-10-22 20:43:06] j8 : ^ this. you can't hedge against BTC/JPY unless you withdraw in JPY
[2016-10-22 20:43:07] Rado : arbitrage001: true, it's harder to hedge
[2016-10-22 20:43:15] mjones : correction or this was 1st of 3 legs
[2016-10-22 20:44:13] Rado : j8: in theory you can hedge with BTC and usdjpy on currency market
[2016-10-22 20:44:31] j8 : sure, complicate my life
[2016-10-22 20:44:53] Rado : But I agree USD contract will be traded way more
[2016-10-22 20:45:16] Rado : Don't get why BitMEX is so stuck on JPY
[2016-10-22 20:45:32] BitMEX_Sam : Rado: The JPY conts are cross-traded on Quoine
[2016-10-22 20:46:05] BitMEX_Sam : So you can trade the same contracts here or there and hedge JPY delta if needed
[2016-10-22 20:46:44] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: I know you need them for Quine deal, but that doesn't stop you from having USD contract as well
[2016-10-22 20:46:54] Rado : unless the deal doesn't allow you
[2016-10-22 20:47:12] BitMEX_Sam : No, has nothing to do with that - honestly, we found traders talk much more about wanting a USD quarterly than they actually trade it
[2016-10-22 20:47:26] BitMEX_Sam : Generally the quarterlies did not trade well.
[2016-10-22 20:47:52] BitMEX_Sam : We believe a JPY contract will trade more healthily due to the increased traffic from Quoine's userbase.
[2016-10-22 20:48:20] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: you can't judge by just listing them 2 times
[2016-10-22 20:48:23] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: increase traffic? have u seen any traffic from quoine's users on old quantos daily?
[2016-10-22 20:48:31] BitMEX_Sam : Rado: We've had USD quarterlies for the past few years
[2016-10-22 20:48:46] BitMEX_Sam : habibi: Quoine's users are trading on Quoine's interface, but yes, we get a lot of signups from there
[2016-10-22 20:48:52] Rado : If you have November and December many people will trade spreads and the volume will increase
[2016-10-22 20:49:05] BitMEX_Sam : Essentially if you go to https://trade.quoine.com/ and click `FUTURES` in the header you get the XBJ markets.
[2016-10-22 20:49:35] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: how is Quoine volume?
[2016-10-22 20:49:40] BitMEX_Sam : Rado: I'll bring it up with the other partners. I agree that JPY is not trading as well as we expected but I'm not certain that listing more instruments (and shoring liquidity for them) is the answer
[2016-10-22 20:49:50] BitMEX_Sam : As in, their spot volume, or XBJ?
[2016-10-22 20:49:51] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: i was trading that dailys and watching them pretty closely, didnt seen any good volume beside my own trading there up to 30k contracts limit of mm
[2016-10-22 20:49:52] j8 : i don't see the quarterly on quoine's interface.
[2016-10-22 20:50:41] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: just speaking for myself, but if there are more instruments I will trade more
[2016-10-22 20:50:51] Rado : let me give you an example
[2016-10-22 20:50:51] BitMEX_Sam : j8: You're correct. Their interface has been in flux, wonder what happened there.
[2016-10-22 20:50:53] BitMEX_Sam : I'll reach out to them.
[2016-10-22 20:51:34] Rado : I trade quarterly and swap, two different strategies
[2016-10-22 20:51:59] Rado : swap is not making me trade less of the quarterlies
[2016-10-22 20:52:11] Rado : if you add November I will trade even more
[2016-10-22 20:52:12] BitMEX_Sam : By the way, we're testing an order amend feature on https://testnet.bitmex.com/
[2016-10-22 20:52:22] BitMEX_Sam : Rado: Thanks for the feedback, I'll pass this on to the rest of the guys
[2016-10-22 20:52:26] BitMEX_Sam : We want to list what trades.
[2016-10-22 20:52:46] BitMEX_Sam : Re: Order Amend, if any of you have testnet accounts I'd love for you to try it before we roll it into the live site.
[2016-10-22 20:52:51] Rado : now I can't short on this pop because there is nothing to hedge against
[2016-10-22 20:52:58] Rado : only one long term contract
[2016-10-22 20:53:10] Rado : And swap doesn't work for that
[2016-10-22 20:53:38] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: thanks, I care a lot about ButMEX succeeding
[2016-10-22 20:53:50] BitMEX_Sam : :+1: Appreciate that
[2016-10-22 20:54:00] Rado : there is no other place that allows me to trade like here
[2016-10-22 20:54:13] miramm1115 : old quarterly quantos had decent open value but daily volume was not that high, as expected for long-term contract
[2016-10-22 20:54:48] miramm1115 : the main problem for MM is offering enough liquidity on the ask side
[2016-10-22 20:55:03] miramm1115 : for quantos, shouldn't be a problem on inverse
[2016-10-22 20:56:49] j8 : BitMEX_Sam: i just checked out the amend feature, the buttons are huge and the input box is really narrow
[2016-10-22 20:58:18] j8 : actually, on the Active Orders panel the column expands. on the XBTUSD panel it didn't
[2016-10-22 20:58:27] BitMEX_Sam : Which browser?
[2016-10-22 20:58:47] j8 : chrome
[2016-10-22 20:59:14] BitMEX_Sam : Ah I see, we have to set a min width if you have a narrower viewport. Thanks
[2016-10-22 21:02:16] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: if my position is closed because of ADL do I get charged commission?
[2016-10-22 21:03:22] j8 : perhaps the stop trigger price could be amendable also
[2016-10-22 21:10:22] Rado : j8: from the API?
[2016-10-22 21:10:50] Rado : Right now you have to cancel the order if you want to change the stop price?
[2016-10-22 21:10:51] j8 : it's already possible by api
[2016-10-22 21:11:01] Rado : Oh
[2016-10-22 21:11:10] Rado : so in here
[2016-10-22 21:11:18] Rado : yes that will be nice
[2016-10-22 21:11:31] Rado : I change my stop all the time
[2016-10-22 21:15:45] BitMEX_Sam : j8: You can modify stop prices as well
[2016-10-22 21:20:39] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: did you see my question about ADL and commissions
[2016-10-22 21:21:01] BitMEX_Sam : Rado: I believe you get the maker rebate on ADL, I will confirm that however
[2016-10-22 21:21:13] Velancry : how low can u go
[2016-10-22 21:22:01] Rado : Thanks
[2016-10-22 21:24:35] BitMEX_Sam : Rado: I can confirm, you are marked as a maker when ADL'd.
[2016-10-22 21:25:37] j8 : BitMEX_Sam: it looked like the stop price could be amended but not the trigger price, for stop limit orders
[2016-10-22 21:25:59] BitMEX_Sam : j8: The triggering price just shows the current mark or last price
[2016-10-22 21:26:10] BitMEX_Sam : You can't switch strategies, that is true.
[2016-10-22 21:26:20] BitMEX_Sam : But you can change your stop price.
[2016-10-22 21:27:19] j8 : gotcha, my mistake
[2016-10-22 21:29:52] Rado : BitMEX_Sam: cool, that's fare

[2016-10-22 22:21:45] BTCDJS : in a universal way. not a personal way. so don't get too excited. You're still alone in the world and nobody cares about you
[2016-10-22 22:24:47] justinlooking : yo BitMEX_Sam are u here?
[2016-10-22 22:25:36] justinlooking : could u generate a swagger go client plz
[2016-10-22 22:32:23] BitMEX_Sam : justinlooking: Sure
[2016-10-22 22:32:49] BitMEX_Sam : You'll have to implement auth yourself, the generator projects only do endpoint & model boilerplate
[2016-10-22 22:32:57] BitMEX_Sam : See https://github.com/BitMEX/api-connectors/tree/master/clients/go
[2016-10-22 22:34:14] justinlooking : thanks, sorry didn't spot that
[2016-10-22 22:34:35] BitMEX_Sam : No worries. You might be able to find other Go projects that consume swagger JSON as well
[2016-10-22 22:35:28] BitMEX_Sam : For instance, https://goswagger.io/generate/client.html
[2016-10-22 22:35:41] BitMEX_Sam : You can get the raw JSON from https://www.bitmex.com/api/explorer/swagger.json
[2016-10-22 22:43:16] Rado : BTC holding pretty good
[2016-10-22 22:45:26] zanza : this seems to be a Finex price spike
[2016-10-22 22:45:29] zanza : anyone agree?
[2016-10-22 22:46:09] sleger : depends what that is supposed to mean
[2016-10-22 22:46:17] zanza : Finex back to about 1/3 peak volume
[2016-10-22 22:47:38] j8 : surely it was china behind the move, and finex got bid up because there's no liquidity
[2016-10-22 22:48:49] Rado : zanza: I think it's Yuan devaluation
[2016-10-22 22:49:11] sleger : of course it is
[2016-10-22 22:49:32] j8 : yep
[2016-10-22 22:50:54] Rado : I am actually surprised Bitfinex volume is this high after the hack
[2016-10-22 22:51:20] Rado : 10k in the last 24h
[2016-10-22 22:53:12] Rado : sleger: what are you trading at the moment?
[2016-10-22 23:04:15] sleger : same as usual, btc and eth almost exclusively
[2016-10-22 23:04:59] aethlios : bitfinex bitmex top 2 for btcusd pair
[2016-10-22 23:12:36] rapidtrades : aethlios: we should be compared to futures not spot

[2016-10-22 23:14:16] rapidtrades : Rado: u shouldn't be, they fake the volume
[2016-10-22 23:14:25] rapidtrades : might as well say 20k
[2016-10-22 23:14:36] sleger : j8: no
[2016-10-22 23:14:46] rapidtrades : ha!

[2016-10-22 23:18:02] j8 : i'm not a zcash hater, i would buy some, but i can wait a few months or more for the supply to catch up with the hype
[2016-10-22 23:20:01] billyboy402 : What the funding rate on eth mobile doesn't show it
[2016-10-22 23:20:28] rapidtrades : -0.08
[2016-10-22 23:23:32] BitMEX_Sam : billyboy402: It is shown, you have to unfold the Control Details tab under the order controls, though.

[2016-10-22 23:35:03] rapidtrades : only lately
[2016-10-22 23:35:45] rapidtrades : $31 premium on dec futures seems excessive
[2016-10-22 23:36:50] rapidtrades : here it's like $29...still a lot
[2016-10-22 23:38:49] j8 : difference is, the possible CNY deval will be corrected for in the long run. whereas you are actually short JPY if you buy here

[2016-10-23 01:16:00] aethlios : my LTCUSD perspective.
[2016-10-23 01:16:35] REKT : Liquidated long on `XRP7D`: Sell 75000 @ 0.00001322
[2016-10-23 01:16:42] wurstgelee : where's the most recnt dump in this chart?
[2016-10-23 01:17:05] mjones : if ltc pumps again then nice money to be made over on 0kcoin 20x
[2016-10-23 01:17:30] aethlios : wurstgelee: what dump, it is a long term chart.
[2016-10-23 01:18:00] wurstgelee : yes, great. it did break down tho
[2016-10-23 01:18:07] wurstgelee : below your pretty lines
[2016-10-23 01:18:08] wurstgelee : ;)
[2016-10-23 01:18:27] aethlios : this is ltcusd, not ltcbtc
[2016-10-23 01:20:16] wurstgelee : indeed, it is
[2016-10-23 01:20:20] wurstgelee : ;)
[2016-10-23 01:22:42] aethlios : wurstgelee: whales accumulate, they keep the volatility dead and miners sell to them their coins to pay electricity. Most coins are mined first 8 years, when they accumulate enough % of total supply then pump it hard to sell to believers above 40, they keep volatility dead so traders don't get interested and don't buy positions.
[2016-10-23 01:23:48] aethlios : this is how large capital holders think and work, they create the moves from which we small fishes earn profit.
[2016-10-23 01:26:57] aethlios : if btc pumps above 1000, NO WAY ltc whales will lose the opportunity to pump the coin.
[2016-10-23 01:28:59] wurstgelee : Most coins are mined first 8 years
[2016-10-23 01:29:00] wurstgelee : lol
[2016-10-23 01:29:02] wurstgelee : :D
[2016-10-23 01:29:09] simonl1978 : is there an APP to login the site?
[2016-10-23 01:30:52] aethlios : 75% mined first 8 years.
[2016-10-23 01:33:24] wurstgelee : how many coins do u know that got mined for 8 years until today?
[2016-10-23 01:33:47] wurstgelee : "most" is just funny in this context, thats all ;)
[2016-10-23 01:34:28] wurstgelee : *hint: the answer is: zero ;)
[2016-10-23 01:38:44] seshbb : i think he's talking about 75% of litecoin mined in 8 years
[2016-10-23 01:39:13] aethlios : seshbb: true.
[2016-10-23 01:40:11] aethlios : monero was for 2 years in tight range, when supply 75% was mined then they pumped.
[2016-10-23 01:41:39] seshbb : i'll eat a hat if bitcoin launches and litecoin doesn't follow
[2016-10-23 01:41:58] aethlios : english not my native language
[2016-10-23 01:46:52] wurstgelee : why would the percentage of total coins mined have any influence? from a pump&dump perspective, it's about the percentage of the current supply the participating parties hold
[2016-10-23 01:48:37] aethlios : wurstgelee: it is cheaper then to control the price in higher levels, you don't have many miners dumping to you.
[2016-10-23 01:48:52] wurstgelee : yes, but if u hold 10%, u hold 10%
[2016-10-23 01:49:08] wurstgelee : it doesnt matter if its 10% of 1m or 1 bn or whatever else
[2016-10-23 01:49:54] aethlios : the more % of supply you hold the easier for you to manipulate the coin.
[2016-10-23 01:50:14] wurstgelee : yes, the more % u hold!
[2016-10-23 01:50:15] wurstgelee : exactly
[2016-10-23 01:50:49] wurstgelee : it doesnt matter if u hold 10% after 1 year with amybe 20% of total coins mined or if u hold 20% of 100% coins mined
[2016-10-23 01:51:01] wurstgelee : *maybe
[2016-10-23 01:52:05] wurstgelee : 10% also
[2016-10-23 01:52:11] wurstgelee : otherwise it makes no sense
[2016-10-23 01:52:50] aethlios : anyway, my point is ltc could look dead (no volatility) but this maybe happens because whales accumulate.
