[2016-07-07 21:48:23] nip : if we can bounce another 10 USD maybe the dpe goes away

[2016-07-07 21:57:25] billz : seems so

[2016-07-07 21:57:59] RoftheN : My entry prize is 637
[2016-07-07 21:58:01] RoftheN : that would be great
[2016-07-07 22:00:46] null : I wish I closed whole short at 616
[2016-07-07 22:01:17] billz : lol you two chances to close that
[2016-07-07 22:01:50] nip : its not too late
[2016-07-07 22:01:59] nip : i think we see at least 650
[2016-07-07 22:02:09] Mr Blue : I fucked up big time and sold my 30,000 long at a loss, turns out if I'd of waited 5 mins longer would of been a profit, was a bloody big loss as well
[2016-07-07 22:02:54] migz : bounce lasted 30mins, now it bleeds again.
[2016-07-07 22:03:11] rapidtrades : bounce4realz now
[2016-07-07 22:03:27] Mr Blue : I seen btc_e brake under 600 to 590 fiñex went 615 an ai shit my nickers lol
[2016-07-07 22:03:56] rapidtrades : yeah btce had a nasty reversal
[2016-07-07 22:04:22] migz : waiting for bounce confirmation in an hour =)
[2016-07-07 22:05:05] rapidtrades : already confirmed...we've prolly set a low until okc settlement
[2016-07-07 22:05:05] ax : china still going
[2016-07-07 22:06:10] billz : dpe getting smaller so that's good
[2016-07-07 22:06:49] null : not good
[2016-07-07 22:06:51] null : unless its filled
[2016-07-07 22:06:56] null : so we need to go up more
[2016-07-07 22:08:08] Jj4REAL : dont think its gonna clear unless we see a 100% retrace to 638
[2016-07-07 22:08:23] nip : where is the actual order we need to fill?
[2016-07-07 22:08:25] null : this system is kind of stupid
[2016-07-07 22:08:38] null : it should be selling at least part of position at loss before loss gets bigger
[2016-07-07 22:08:53] null : perhaps when DPE is above 5% start dumping
[2016-07-07 22:08:58] Jj4REAL : 629.19
[2016-07-07 22:09:01] nip : yeah i like how the woodchipper tries to sell the whole thing immediately
[2016-07-07 22:09:17] nip : here they move the orders around to try to get a better fill and make money for the insurance fund it seems...
[2016-07-07 22:09:43] nip : which i think increases the chance of a really big dpe
[2016-07-07 22:09:55] Jj4REAL : mmm 0.5% maintenance margin leaves not much room for progressive liquidation
[2016-07-07 22:09:57] nip : though it is good for building insurance fund in a sideways market
[2016-07-07 22:11:51] Jj4REAL : its a trading strategy here I guess - dont bother with risk management, just get rekt and let the system worry about the losses
[2016-07-07 22:12:14] BitMEX_Sam : The issue is that we couldn't simply dump 1M contracts on the market
[2016-07-07 22:12:42] BitMEX_Sam : The liquidation engine places it as close to market as it can before it dips into the insurance fund. Part of the issue is that when a liquidation happens, the price is already quickly moving
[2016-07-07 22:12:53] BitMEX_Sam : So it's a hairy thing regardless.
[2016-07-07 22:13:13] nip : so it does place the order 0.5% below the users liquidation price?
[2016-07-07 22:13:27] BitMEX_Sam : It is already selling at a loss to have brought it down to 629.
[2016-07-07 22:13:53] BitMEX_Sam : Yes, it starts at the bankruptcy price, which is 0.5% below/above liquidation price, then moves from there depending on market conditions & ins fund balance
[2016-07-07 22:14:00] nip : oh another question. if a liquidation added to the insurance fund now, would that immediately bring the price of the unfilled orders down a little bit?
[2016-07-07 22:14:14] BitMEX_Sam : Yes, it has been balancing bringing down DPE & moving the order closer to the market
[2016-07-07 22:14:30] Jj4REAL : the margin seems like it could stand to be higher no? what effect would having margin at 1% have?
[2016-07-07 22:14:56] BitMEX_Sam : Users would get liquidated more quickly and could potentially lose more, which they wouldn't be happy about.
[2016-07-07 22:15:07] BitMEX_Sam : However, we're looking into a tiered system that increases margin requirements for larger positions.
[2016-07-07 22:15:25] BitMEX_Sam : If the margin requirements are higher, we could incrementally liquidate those users, which would be very helpful for easing liquidations.
[2016-07-07 22:15:31] nip : well the issue with the huge dpe we had a bit ago was someone using 4 accounts
[2016-07-07 22:15:36] nip : all with about the same liquidation price
[2016-07-07 22:15:50] nip : i dont think the tiered system would have helped against that
[2016-07-07 22:15:52] BitMEX_Sam : Yes. So the overall limit will be lower than it is now, with the option to increase it by posting more margin
[2016-07-07 22:16:06] BitMEX_Sam : In order to open up positions even of that size used by 4 accounts, it would require more MM
[2016-07-07 22:16:47] Jj4REAL : yeah can be gamed but loss is only .56% now not bad considering
[2016-07-07 22:17:04] nip : we have to fill that 629.19 order
[2016-07-07 22:17:08] BitMEX_Sam : Yeah. Once that is in place we will be considering other mechanisms to keep lower-leveraged users safe
[2016-07-07 22:17:54] nip : BitMEX_Sam: keep in mind woodchipper has 1% maintenance margin, lower fees, lower socialized losses.
[2016-07-07 22:18:02] nip : so please dont increase my maintenance margin to 1%
[2016-07-07 22:18:10] nip : im here because its 0.5%
[2016-07-07 22:18:36] nip : i guess it depends on what position sizes you increase the margin at
[2016-07-07 22:19:11] Jj4REAL : pretty impressive the loss is so small given the scale of the liquidations really.
[2016-07-07 22:19:21] BitMEX_Sam : Right. And users with higher margin would enjoy incremental liquidations, so it's not all bad. It will contribute substantially to market stability
[2016-07-07 22:19:41] null : Im glad you guys are working on a solution :)
[2016-07-07 22:20:10] BitMEX_Sam : Yeah believe me, nobody dislikes seeing DPE more than us. We're trying to build the best product we can, and we don't like to see problems on the market.
[2016-07-07 22:20:59] BitMEX_Sam : It's working as designed, but more will be done to limit loss.
[2016-07-07 22:21:02] Jj4REAL : i guess whatever you do nothings gonna stop a huge DPE on a 20% dip. This dump is just par for BTC
[2016-07-07 22:22:09] BitMEX_Sam : Yeah. Big DPE also means a lot of users are making good profits.
[2016-07-07 22:22:31] Jj4REAL : where is the settlement history again?
[2016-07-07 22:22:51] Jj4REAL : nvm
[2016-07-07 22:23:48] null : BitMEX_Sam: what do you mean? big DPE means people are losing a lot of money on both sides
[2016-07-07 22:23:49] nip : BitMEX_Sam: its a bigger issue for anyone trying to manage exposure across multiple exchanges
[2016-07-07 22:24:12] BitMEX_Sam : No, it means that users are making more profit than is in the system, so their profit has to be capped.
[2016-07-07 22:24:22] null : thats bullshit
[2016-07-07 22:24:29] nip : that dpe was a lot worse than i expected for a move of that size, and it will affect my volume going forward
[2016-07-07 22:25:09] null : why would someone want to trade a product where where you lose you lose 100% and when you win you win, oh maybe 70%
[2016-07-07 22:25:14] BitMEX_Sam : It's 50x leverage. There has to be a compromise when the price moves 10% in an hour
[2016-07-07 22:25:28] nip : null: because the guy with 4 accounts lost a lot less than he should have
[2016-07-07 22:25:33] Jj4REAL : because you cant loose more than 100%
[2016-07-07 22:25:48] nip : for every loser there is a winner. the issue is most of us will always be the loser from this dpe system
[2016-07-07 22:25:50] BitMEX_Sam : Exactly. Losses are capped at 100% but you can make much more than that, which is of course the issue and why DPE exists at all
[2016-07-07 22:25:53] nip : and that includes anyone who hedges
[2016-07-07 22:26:02] Jj4REAL : at 50 X you could be on the hook for 5000% of colateral otherwise
[2016-07-07 22:26:07] nip : uh why did the system move the liquidation order UP
[2016-07-07 22:26:10] nip : BitMEX_Sam: ??
[2016-07-07 22:26:20] nip : this is the kinda stuff that i think makes the dpe worse
[2016-07-07 22:26:40] BitMEX_Sam : It responds to market conditions to improve insurance fund contributions. It just moved it back down
[2016-07-07 22:26:58] ax : wouldn't it be better to spread it out?
[2016-07-07 22:27:00] nip : BitMEX_Sam: that definitely increases the risk of a big dpe
[2016-07-07 22:27:06] null : where do you see the pending liquidation?
[2016-07-07 22:27:16] BitMEX_Sam : It was trading at a 1% discount. Now it's gone
[2016-07-07 22:27:25] ax : nice
[2016-07-07 22:27:40] Jj4REAL : aaaand itsgone
[2016-07-07 22:27:43] BitMEX_Sam : null: We don't yet mark them in the book but I have a ticket open for that
[2016-07-07 22:27:57] BitMEX_Sam : You can see them via the API at https://www.bitmex.com/api/explorer/#!/Liquidation/Liquidation_get
[2016-07-07 22:28:05] nip : yeah i like how they get their own color on okcoin
[2016-07-07 22:28:26] Jj4REAL : hly sit wy i close my long at 628
[2016-07-07 22:28:29] BitMEX_Sam : I've been working a lot on the UI today, I could get that in.
[2016-07-07 22:28:30] rapidtrades : BitMEX_Sam: why did u move the li
[2016-07-07 22:28:32] rapidtrades : not cool man
[2016-07-07 22:28:35] rapidtrades : major bs
[2016-07-07 22:28:41] BitMEX_Sam : rapidtrades: ? It filled and it's an automatic process.
[2016-07-07 22:28:49] rapidtrades : fist u moved it up then down
[2016-07-07 22:29:07] nip : BitMEX_Sam: what im saying is doing that increases the variance in the dpe
[2016-07-07 22:29:21] nip : if you had moved it up and it didnt fill...
[2016-07-07 22:29:45] BitMEX_Sam : It moved it up because the mark price was well above where it was listed. It would move it back down again if it didn't fill, which is exactly what you saw happen
[2016-07-07 22:29:57] lockhedge : it's a good thing that the priority is reducing DPE not filling up the insurance fund
[2016-07-07 22:30:53] nip : i understand why im just saying it increases the chance of building the insurance fund but also increases the chance of having a dpe when there wouldnt have been one if the order had just filled
[2016-07-07 22:31:15] nip : okcoin never moves them they just want it filled for 0 dpe
[2016-07-07 22:31:30] Jj4REAL : dpe now zero and 100% retrace on the last leg down; all is well in the worlds
[2016-07-07 22:31:48] rapidtrades : yeah don't move the liq the opposite way ffs
[2016-07-07 22:32:31] nip : its like running an in house profit-seeking bot for the insruance fund
[2016-07-07 22:32:53] nip : makes money for the insurance fund some of the time it moves orders the opposite way, but gives us all dpe other times
[2016-07-07 22:33:21] rapidtrades : i got a slightly better entry due to the shenanigans but it could cause major issues if it doesn't get filled
[2016-07-07 22:33:58] nip : yeah it worked well this time for sure. im just saying its the riskier of the 2 ways of doing it
[2016-07-07 22:34:15] nip : and the thing at risk is us getting DPE
[2016-07-07 22:35:45] Adura : You could use the DPE as an index for a volatility instrument, something to hedge against the players taking more risk.
[2016-07-07 22:35:58] rapidtrades : adura plz
[2016-07-07 22:36:08] rapidtrades : keep ur thoughts to urself
[2016-07-07 22:36:29] Adura : Take your own advice, hah.
[2016-07-07 22:36:38] Jj4REAL : hedge? what is hedge :)
[2016-07-07 22:36:48] Jj4REAL : this is casino
[2016-07-07 22:37:35] migz : 610 to 630. thanks profits =)
[2016-07-07 22:38:01] rapidtrades : im just happy i finally closed that arb
[2016-07-07 22:39:31] rapidtrades : long brothers we should get some funding monies too
[2016-07-07 22:41:52] aethlios : volatility high before and after halving, anyone will watch the network.
[2016-07-07 22:42:47] rapidtrades : that was a major reversal
[2016-07-07 22:42:59] rapidtrades : maybe set the low for this week too
[2016-07-07 22:43:57] ax : we're in some kind of mega triangle now from may 26th to now
[2016-07-07 22:44:39] rapidtrades : yeah we are
[2016-07-07 22:45:18] ax : should get interesting at the end of next week
[2016-07-07 22:45:19] Mrceaser : @Bitmex, I entered a buy position at 626.00 set a set limit @ 637. market is trading past my sell limit to 638.41 how do you explain that please?
[2016-07-07 22:45:54] Mrceaser : Bitmex_Sam
[2016-07-07 22:46:03] Jj4REAL : mark price?
[2016-07-07 22:46:43] rapidtrades : Mrceaser: u prolly didn't check mark trigger price
[2016-07-07 22:47:05] rapidtrades : so it was executed on the current orderbook
[2016-07-07 22:47:15] rapidtrades : or would've been
[2016-07-07 22:47:28] Mrceaser : Mark price went past my sell limit
[2016-07-07 22:47:43] rapidtrades : did u check it?
[2016-07-07 22:47:44] Mrceaser : buy my trade is still open?
[2016-07-07 22:47:49] rapidtrades : when u set the order?
[2016-07-07 22:48:31] Mrceaser : no, i guess am still missing something here please what does that mean?
[2016-07-07 22:48:35] rapidtrades : Mrceaser: there's an option 'mark trigger price'
[2016-07-07 22:48:42] rapidtrades : when u set stop limits
[2016-07-07 22:49:08] Mrceaser : ok...
[2016-07-07 22:49:19] lockhedge : it was probably triggered at the mark price but has not been filled
[2016-07-07 22:49:44] rapidtrades : i think it doesn't matter anyway cos orderbook never traded to 638
[2016-07-07 22:49:52] Mrceaser : exactly what happened @ lockhedge
[2016-07-07 22:49:55] rapidtrades : u can't get filled there when we never got there
[2016-07-07 22:51:12] Mrceaser : Rapidtrades what is current mark price on xbtusd
[2016-07-07 22:51:39] rapidtrades : 638.06
[2016-07-07 22:51:40] migz : i went from 50% profit to 30% loss. Hmmm.. Hmp.
[2016-07-07 22:52:10] rapidtrades : Mrceaser: the order set a limit a 638 right?
[2016-07-07 22:52:23] fu22 : have the liquidations all been closed?
[2016-07-07 22:52:33] rapidtrades : so it should now be on the oderbook? ur order
[2016-07-07 22:53:29] rapidtrades : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/07/07/world-faces-deflation-shock-as-china-devalues-at-accelerating-pa/
[2016-07-07 22:53:34] odieoh : mark is at 638 but on one is buying (or selling) at that price
[2016-07-07 22:53:42] rapidtrades : ppl finally starting to notice PBOC shenanigans
[2016-07-07 22:53:45] odieoh : * no one
[2016-07-07 22:55:55] Avalanche : 5$ price diff
[2016-07-07 22:55:59] Avalanche : record
[2016-07-07 22:56:00] rapidtrades : i don't mind this selling...more funding later :)
[2016-07-07 22:56:09] Mrceaser : I set limit at 637
[2016-07-07 22:56:32] rapidtrades : Mrceaser: is it on the orderbook now
[2016-07-07 22:57:09] rapidtrades : limits always have to be placed on the orderbook, so u can't get executed on mark....mark is just the trigger
[2016-07-07 22:57:39] lockhedge : highest price was 636.97, that's bad luck
[2016-07-07 22:57:52] Mrceaser : nope, gone past it without executing
[2016-07-07 22:58:13] rapidtrades : like lockhedge said, we never got there
[2016-07-07 22:58:41] rapidtrades : see recent trades >>>>>>>>>>>>>
[2016-07-07 23:07:44] Mrceaser : so what do i do? exit @ market manually?
[2016-07-07 23:14:27] rapidtrades : well if u want to exit at 637 u can set a limit order there....check the active orders tab first
[2016-07-07 23:15:26] lockhedge : Mrceaser: best thing would be to sell at a spot exchange now above 637 and buy more here at 635 ;)
[2016-07-07 23:16:05] Mrceaser : thanks guys
[2016-07-07 23:18:16] rapidtrades : yeah if u want to zero out ur exposure what lockehedge said would be best
[2016-07-07 23:18:27] rapidtrades : until things normalize here
[2016-07-07 23:18:44] BitMEX_Sam : Good news, colored liquidations are deploying to testnet now
[2016-07-07 23:18:53] BitMEX_Sam : So they'll show up as red `size` in the orderbook.
[2016-07-07 23:18:56] rapidtrades : could take a day or two tho....
[2016-07-07 23:19:10] rapidtrades : BitMEX_Sam: tnx that's helpful
[2016-07-07 23:19:36] BitMEX_Sam : I've also updated Fills to be the actual executions (so some orders may have many fills), rather than being orders alone
[2016-07-07 23:21:56] rapidtrades : what would that do....
[2016-07-07 23:22:18] BitMEX_Sam : Say you place an order for 1000 contracts, and it's chipped away in 50 contract intervals
[2016-07-07 23:22:34] BitMEX_Sam : The interface today shows that as a single fill. The new update will show each individual 50 contract fill
[2016-07-07 23:22:45] BitMEX_Sam : Along with the time and remaining size of that order.
[2016-07-07 23:22:55] Mrceaser : @rapidtrades so i should always watch orderbook when placing my orders and not Mark Price?
[2016-07-07 23:23:04] BitMEX_Sam : That's similar to what you see in the Trade History.
[2016-07-07 23:23:13] BitMEX_Sam : Mrceaser: Yes
[2016-07-07 23:23:23] rapidtrades : BitMEX_Sam: what interface

[2016-07-07 23:48:30] migz : where to see DPE?

[2016-07-07 23:56:15] odieoh : So if DPE stays at zero until settlement, does that mean I will receive all my withheld profit?

[2016-07-08 05:27:29] Rado : What happened?
[2016-07-08 05:29:05] Rado : Reading about it now
[2016-07-08 05:58:08] Rado : ETH longs get paid 0.34%
[2016-07-08 06:00:46] Rado : Wow
[2016-07-08 06:00:59] Rado : I just realized something
[2016-07-08 06:01:41] Rado : It's huge
[2016-07-08 06:05:28] BitMEX_Wally : XBTUSD longs get paid 0.24%
[2016-07-08 06:06:43] Rado : Wally to get the xbtusd rate you need to be in USD
[2016-07-08 06:07:03] Rado : I want to be invested in btc instead of fiat
[2016-07-08 06:07:31] Rado : So i can collect tge ETH rate and my base currency will be btc
[2016-07-08 06:08:21] Rado : Short 5k ETH and go long 5k contracts here
[2016-07-08 06:08:34] Rado : Or more :-)
[2016-07-08 06:12:44] migz : Hmm sideways. @_@
[2016-07-08 06:13:41] Rado : BitMEX_Wally: do you agree?
[2016-07-08 06:14:43] BitMEX_Wally : If you go long XBTUSD then you are invested in Bitcoin...
[2016-07-08 06:14:57] BitMEX_Wally : You have Bitcoin as your margin currency, and you are long exposure to Bitcoin
[2016-07-08 06:15:46] Rado : But if btc falls I lose btc
[2016-07-08 06:15:53] BitMEX_Wally : You could go long XBTUSD and short Bitcoin on Bitfinex
[2016-07-08 06:16:03] BitMEX_Wally : Then you've got no price action, just the funding
[2016-07-08 06:16:18] BitMEX_Wally : Same as if you go long ETHXBT here and short ETH on Poloniex
[2016-07-08 06:16:32] Rado : No
[2016-07-08 06:16:44] Rado : I will lose eth, but not btc
[2016-07-08 06:17:27] BitMEX_Wally : ETHXBT pays out in XBT. And if you short ETH and then buy back you will have gain/lost XBT
[2016-07-08 06:17:33] BitMEX_Wally : (on Polniex)
[2016-07-08 06:18:03] Rado : But i will have the same gain/loss here
[2016-07-08 06:18:22] BitMEX_Wally : So in total you will neither lose or gain, in neither XBT or ETH
[2016-07-08 06:18:27] Rado : So net i will have the same amount of btc + interest
[2016-07-08 06:19:19] Rado : If I do this with xbtusd I will have the same amount of usd + interest
[2016-07-08 06:19:24] BitMEX_Wally : So if you go long XBTUSD here, and short XBT on Bitfinex and you end up with USD profit, just buy some Bitcoin
[2016-07-08 06:19:56] Rado : Tes, but it's not the same
[2016-07-08 06:20:10] Rado : I risk that btc can shoot up
[2016-07-08 06:20:25] BitMEX_Wally : So what?
[2016-07-08 06:20:28] BitMEX_Wally : The trade is hedged
[2016-07-08 06:20:29] Rado : And then my usd will be able to buy less btc
[2016-07-08 06:20:36] BitMEX_Wally : Your net PNL in USD is 0
[2016-07-08 06:20:57] Rado : I am trying to make btc, not usd
[2016-07-08 06:21:15] BitMEX_Wally : Right, but when you un-wind the trade, just hedge your USD profit/loss back into Bitcoin
[2016-07-08 06:21:15] Rado : Am I getting it wrong?
[2016-07-08 06:21:30] BitMEX_Wally : If you are long XBTUSD and short XBT on Bitfinex you are not making or losing anything
[2016-07-08 06:21:31] Rado : Oh I see
[2016-07-08 06:22:03] Rado : You are saying it's only for a short period of time
[2016-07-08 06:22:04] BitMEX_Wally : You might lose 1 XBT in your BitMEX account but you will gain 1 XBT worth of USD in your Bitfinex account, so just buy it back
[2016-07-08 06:22:41] Rado : I don't need to stay in
[2016-07-08 06:22:59] Rado : Just for the period to collect the funding
[2016-07-08 06:23:13] Rado : I get what you are saying now
[2016-07-08 06:23:35] rapidtrades : hmm btc lending rates just jumped on finex 3x
[2016-07-08 06:23:36] rapidtrades : why
[2016-07-08 06:26:16] Rado : I am going to make a bot for this
[2016-07-08 06:28:30] Rado : Spread will affect my profit
[2016-07-08 08:08:40] fineregex : good day:)
[2016-07-08 08:09:50] fineregex : im alarmed about https://pro.btcc.com/trade/xbtcny
[2016-07-08 08:11:38] fineregex : they usually calculate funding similarily to bitmex.com https://pro.btcc.com/faq#10-how-do-carrying-fees-work-on-pro-exchange
[2016-07-08 08:16:32] fineregex : (premium price => positive interest rate discounted price => negative interest rate)
[2016-07-08 08:17:43] fineregex : but since several days it stopped changing. Effectively killing off volume and only providing a bad deal to both buyers and sellers
[2016-07-08 08:19:17] fineregex : Does anyone use it here? (Arthur mentioned it in a newsletter) Please contact them to finally adjust the rates again, also in retrospective.
[2016-07-08 08:31:07] GreedyGoblin : fineregex: where can you see the current premium at btcc? is there a history?
[2016-07-08 08:37:20] RoftheN : Why is the funding so damn negatively high?
[2016-07-08 08:39:46] fineregex : GreedyGoblin: not that i know of. You can tell from the chart historically and from the live price&orderbook. "BPI" Average now pricing source CNY4320 (among chinese exchanges = $645) but buy orders only at $620
[2016-07-08 08:41:43] GreedyGoblin : doesnt sound very "pro" to me
[2016-07-08 08:43:48] fineregex : so interest rate would be negative just like here. but instead didnt change since a week or so
[2016-07-08 08:44:15] fineregex : GreedyGoblin: yes :(
[2016-07-08 08:58:27] Rasign : BitMEX_Wally: hey i got hacked

[2016-07-08 09:03:32] Rasign : close my position
[2016-07-08 09:24:56] johndoe : 2FA is a bit of a hassle but entirely worth it
[2016-07-08 09:35:04] BitMEX_Wally : Rasign: Please enable 2FA on your email account, and then reset your BitMEX password and enable 2FA here too.
[2016-07-08 09:37:50] Mr Blue : Rasign: you use same password here as your email address? Probably your computer is infected with some form of spy ware, reset everything on a new device.
[2016-07-08 09:39:49] 1QaZxSw2 : Never re-use passwords. Better still use 1Password or KeePass
[2016-07-08 09:40:43] johndoe : or Dashlane is good too
[2016-07-08 09:42:13] Mr Blue : 1QaZxSw2: +1 I try use different passwords, not looked in to password generators, as I rather not trust 3rd parties even if it looks 100% secure, I have a password book in my safe
[2016-07-08 09:45:11] johndoe : Dashlane and most other password managers don't ever see your passwords - the info is encrypted on your side and never goes to their servers.
[2016-07-08 09:45:30] johndoe : another benefit is you can use them on your phone or away from home - so when you are not near your safe
[2016-07-08 09:45:55] Mr Blue : johndoe: haha that is true
[2016-07-08 09:46:18] johndoe : i have 50 different 15-20 character passwords, but just have to remember a single password
[2016-07-08 09:46:54] johndoe : totally worth the small cost for these password apps
