This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2016-06-12 19:13:25] rapidtrades : ah
[2016-06-12 19:14:11] rapidtrades : if its been working for u cool
[2016-06-12 19:14:12] MrRGnome : Anyways, my point is that I feel I have a valid use case for 100x, and other traders may think I'll lose money but that's my business, and right now all bitmex is doing with their recent changes is making my trading strategy more difficult to execute
[2016-06-12 19:14:47] rapidtrades : there won't be 100/1 soon...there's still a giant LIQ on the orderbook and earlier we had 20% DPE
[2016-06-12 19:15:06] BTCDJS : MrRGnome: you can trade 100x on the new XBJ24H
[2016-06-12 19:15:30] MrRGnome : Oh yeah? That's not an instrument on here is it?
[2016-06-12 19:15:36] rapidtrades : careful tho, that's a quanto

[2016-06-12 19:16:57] MrRGnome : Just have to read the full details of this instrument, I'm unfamiliar
[2016-06-12 19:17:22] BTCDJS : MrRGnome: have fun
[2016-06-12 19:17:30] MrRGnome : thanks!
[2016-06-12 19:18:03] lockhedge : going 100x short a XBT/JPY quanto future to hedge a XBT/USD long position is an ambitions idea
[2016-06-12 19:18:28] MrRGnome : Yeah , I'm not sure this instrument is built very well for that. I don't really know what its terms are
[2016-06-12 19:18:47] MrRGnome : But i am for sure going to look into it
[2016-06-12 19:19:03] rapidtrades : whats Quoine

[2016-06-12 19:52:53] lockhedge : mark price will jump +0.375% in 6minutes, then we have a 0.8047% funding rate (capped about 1%) and then premium should get down...
[2016-06-12 19:53:27] rapidtrades : ''should''
[2016-06-12 19:53:29] aethlios : j8: I can buy 20000 at 665

[2016-06-12 19:58:56] 1QaZxSw2 : so mark price jumps every so many hours?
[2016-06-12 19:59:15] 1QaZxSw2 : when is the next jump
[2016-06-12 19:59:22] rapidtrades : 1 min
[2016-06-12 19:59:38] 1QaZxSw2 : right after this jump when is next?
[2016-06-12 19:59:44] mrp1nk : big meh at this ridiculous premium again
[2016-06-12 19:59:55] aethlios : j8: thanks for your bussiness
[2016-06-12 20:00:42] j8 : i needed to do it, been long since 460 and those things just get bigger and bigger
[2016-06-12 20:01:24] aethlios : j8: I was arbing, but will jump to swap.

[2016-06-12 20:02:27] rapidtrades : ok math doesn't add up....shorts should've gotten $2.8 per bitcoin but i got closer to $2.5

[2016-06-12 20:19:31] MrRGnome : I remember your first day here rapid. Everyone was so pissy with you because you didn't know anything about trading =P
[2016-06-12 20:19:46] rapidtrades : f off
[2016-06-12 20:19:50] MrRGnome : I'm just teasing buddy
[2016-06-12 20:19:52] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 2000 @ 670.92
[2016-06-12 20:19:53] MrRGnome : It's true

[2016-06-12 20:20:15] justinlooking : dat 11 == 14 debacle
[2016-06-12 20:20:25] rapidtrades : i'm always a well respected member in my head tho
[2016-06-12 20:20:42] MrRGnome : Well, that's really what caused the initial difficulties int he first place haha
[2016-06-12 20:21:02] MrRGnome : just saying give, everyone that learns during a pump the chance to learn
[2016-06-12 20:21:13] kogroken : Some 6000 BTC for sale on bitfinex under $700, not much above that (not counting hidden orders)
[2016-06-12 20:22:03] rapidtrades : MrRGnome: ffs...like i said back then i was testing shit out....trust me the only thing I've learned from trading crypto is how dumb ppl can get
[2016-06-12 20:22:23] rapidtrades : i'm not even trolling when i say that
[2016-06-12 20:22:33] podizzle3k : 16:06 - rapidtrades: any longers here? can u explain why u would buy now at $10 premium with DPE and 0.8% fee coming in 8hrs
[2016-06-12 20:22:41] podizzle3k : isnt that great when the universe answers questions for you
[2016-06-12 20:22:48] MrRGnome : I'm not about to argue against the fact that markets are empirical evidence of irrational actors.
[2016-06-12 20:22:57] rapidtrades : podizzle3k: :)
[2016-06-12 20:23:15] BTCDJS : looking for a good place to short. starting to think there might not be one any time soon
[2016-06-12 20:23:22] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 455 @ 672.69
[2016-06-12 20:23:24] podizzle3k : whoaaaaaaaaa we got a wild one
[2016-06-12 20:23:26] rapidtrades : well time to deposit more coin here i guess lol
[2016-06-12 20:23:29] podizzle3k : a shorter has been spotted
[2016-06-12 20:23:38] podizzle3k : prepare the funeral
[2016-06-12 20:24:07] BTCDJS : podizzle3k: lol only when the opportunity calls for it.
[2016-06-12 20:24:12] MrRGnome : Good time to short? Maybe not. Good time to devest? Absolutely.
[2016-06-12 20:24:19] podizzle3k : so the most aggressively bull market is that opportunity
[2016-06-12 20:24:27] BTCDJS : thought the pump was more or less over for now
[2016-06-12 20:24:47] rapidtrades : u thought wrong
[2016-06-12 20:25:08] ayy_lmao : lenny face
[2016-06-12 20:25:42] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 29900 @ 673.94 **MEGA-REKT** :boom:
[2016-06-12 20:26:12] BTCDJS : damn. missed out then
[2016-06-12 20:26:41] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTM16`: Buy 5700 @ 694.66
[2016-06-12 20:27:13] MrRGnome : anyone have any predictions for the top of this run? We aiming for a new ATH or long term consolidation at a higher price but not ATH
[2016-06-12 20:27:24] rapidtrades : 690
[2016-06-12 20:27:27] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 3500 @ 676.09
[2016-06-12 20:27:28] MrRGnome : or a return to reality and crash
[2016-06-12 20:27:56] MrRGnome : 690, so you are calling top now?
[2016-06-12 20:28:05] MrRGnome : for this entire bubble or today?
[2016-06-12 20:28:07] REKT : Liquidated long on `ETHXBT`: Sell 300 @ 0.02260
[2016-06-12 20:29:42] rapidtrades : MrRGnome: sure why not
[2016-06-12 20:29:48] rapidtrades : spot on here obv
[2016-06-12 20:30:00] lockhedge : as Wally already explained miners will have a big incentive to dump as soon as old mining hardware gets profitable again http://bitcoineval.com/hardware.php
[2016-06-12 20:30:11] rapidtrades : i wont i exit my long there tho :)
[2016-06-12 20:30:25] MrRGnome : I'd be somewhat surprised if this was an exhaustion of all bull momentum atm.
[2016-06-12 20:30:45] Blargwaffle : At least 900 by halving.
[2016-06-12 20:30:50] rapidtrades : i think we need a $150 candle or smth
[2016-06-12 20:31:39] rapidtrades : $85 is not a lot from 580...thats like 14%
[2016-06-12 20:31:50] MrRGnome : I think most of the halving gains won't be realized until well into the year of the halving as btc mining companies have to adjust tot he new normal, just like last halving
[2016-06-12 20:32:26] rapidtrades : im honestly surprised how long it takes to price this in....prolly partially due to yuan weakness
[2016-06-12 20:32:34] MrRGnome : anticipation might drive a bubble which could be this one, and then we might see another one due to fundamentals
[2016-06-12 20:32:38] rapidtrades : the ETH fiasco earlier didn't help either
[2016-06-12 20:33:23] lockhedge : the "bitcoin is dead" mike hearn dump and the ETH bubble as well didn't help
[2016-06-12 20:33:38] MrRGnome : rapidtrades: the uncertainty of the larger market is causing the difficulty in price finding
[2016-06-12 20:33:40] rapidtrades : eth bubble f*cked a lot with my longs
[2016-06-12 20:34:06] aethlios : rapidtrades: next 8 hours premium will be much more.
[2016-06-12 20:34:15] rapidtrades : GOOD
[2016-06-12 20:34:19] asdfman : lag fucked me with liquidation and made me go short
[2016-06-12 20:35:47] lockhedge : aethlios: it's capped at 1.125%
[2016-06-12 20:36:34] lockhedge : the funding rate, not the premium...
[2016-06-12 20:37:22] rapidtrades : guess the network is clogged up?
[2016-06-12 20:38:33] MrRGnome : this does not look like a 690 top to me, not enough dip.
[2016-06-12 20:38:39] MrRGnome : needs more dip.
[2016-06-12 20:39:08] stf28 : its ok for next few hours i think, no dip, just consolidation
[2016-06-12 20:40:01] MrRGnome : consolidation is most likely to continue the trend unless it bleeds instead of consolidates
[2016-06-12 20:40:20] MrRGnome : we'll see in a few hours I guess.
[2016-06-12 20:40:46] MrRGnome : ywah no way, way too strong for a 690 top
[2016-06-12 20:41:53] stf28 : new highs coming ?
[2016-06-12 20:42:11] MrRGnome : I don't think we're there yet. Maybe new highs in CAD, but not USD
[2016-06-12 20:42:39] rapidtrades : lol CAD
[2016-06-12 20:42:46] MrRGnome : I mean ATH not local high
[2016-06-12 20:42:56] rapidtrades : noone gives a shit about the loonie
[2016-06-12 20:42:59] MrRGnome : yeah man, cad was a great short
[2016-06-12 20:43:04] MrRGnome : and made a good recovery too
[2016-06-12 20:43:14] rapidtrades : oil
[2016-06-12 20:43:26] MrRGnome : had more volatility in cad than I did in btc for a while, lol
[2016-06-12 20:43:28] Blargwaffle : Hah, XBTUSD price vs. XBTM16.
[2016-06-12 20:43:44] rapidtrades : MrRGnome: no doubt...but again it was all oil
[2016-06-12 20:43:52] MrRGnome : yeah that petro dollar
[2016-06-12 20:44:34] rapidtrades : nuts
[2016-06-12 20:44:39] rapidtrades : this is nuts
[2016-06-12 20:44:45] MrRGnome : What I meant though was CAD might see a new ATH in BTC price because CAD crashed so hard
[2016-06-12 20:44:54] rapidtrades : yeah i know
[2016-06-12 20:44:55] stf28 : china 698$
[2016-06-12 20:45:02] stf28 : 700$ !!!!
[2016-06-12 20:45:11] rapidtrades : plz stop the play by play
[2016-06-12 20:45:16] MrRGnome : You love it.
[2016-06-12 20:45:24] MrRGnome : When he's mean to you it means he likes you
[2016-06-12 20:46:24] aethlios : is this the top???
[2016-06-12 20:47:10] MrRGnome : love that volume
[2016-06-12 20:47:33] rapidtrades : LIQ now at 656...
[2016-06-12 20:47:39] Blargwaffle : Maybe 1000 is a better psychological number.
[2016-06-12 20:47:56] rapidtrades : hell why not 10,000
[2016-06-12 20:48:01] rapidtrades : or 100,000
[2016-06-12 20:48:02] MrRGnome : this whole bubble is divorced from fundamentals, it's all psychological and speculation
[2016-06-12 20:48:27] Blargwaffle : Chinese need to move money, they buy it.
[2016-06-12 20:48:28] rapidtrades : there are no fundamentals in crypto
[2016-06-12 20:49:20] MrRGnome : So many fundamentals. People actually buying bitcoin for various use cases, the costs to mine a bitcoin in a competitive context
[2016-06-12 20:49:32] rapidtrades : nah
[2016-06-12 20:50:26] MrRGnome : buying to escape financial controls, buying to speculate, (the two biggest I imagine) buying to hold savings, buying to pay for goods or services
[2016-06-12 20:50:51] MrRGnome : buying to run automated platforms, selling to pay for business costs on bitcoin run businesses
[2016-06-12 20:51:15] MrRGnome : selling to speculate is probably the largest downard pressure
[2016-06-12 20:51:24] asdfman : no fundamentals except numerology: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYmViPTndxw
[2016-06-12 20:52:21] rapidtrades : MrRGnome: im sure there's a lot of factors going into the value of bitcoin but the Q is do any of those metrics have predcitive value? i say no
[2016-06-12 20:53:46] MrRGnome : I think the idea is to get as much of a quantitative measure of the factors you can identify as possible and make conservative estimates and risk forecasts. The properties you identify to make these estimates and profiles being fundamentals
[2016-06-12 20:55:50] ButchPooch : What is realized PNL?
[2016-06-12 20:56:53] justinlooking : pnl from closed positions
[2016-06-12 20:57:36] justinlooking : (since last rebalance)
[2016-06-12 20:58:04] rapidtrades : china holiday ends monday right
[2016-06-12 20:58:20] rapidtrades : so we should get first PBOC rate change in 4 hrs
[2016-06-12 20:59:00] MrRGnome : you think this early movement is an indicator or fear?
[2016-06-12 21:00:16] lockhedge : your question is an indicator of fear
[2016-06-12 21:00:40] tscha : next funding rate could be >2%
[2016-06-12 21:00:43] MrRGnome : I don't think asking someones opinion reveals much of any about my own.
[2016-06-12 21:00:51] justinlooking : really tscha??
[2016-06-12 21:00:54] rapidtrades : Yuan opens little changed
[2016-06-12 21:01:01] Yumi : its capped
[2016-06-12 21:01:02] lockhedge : tscha: it's capped at 1.125%
[2016-06-12 21:01:06] rapidtrades : now its up to the PBOC
[2016-06-12 21:01:09] tscha : oh
[2016-06-12 21:01:35] rapidtrades : they have to act now to stop the onshore/offshore gap
[2016-06-12 21:01:55] rapidtrades : if they don't market may think they're ok with this silent devaluation
[2016-06-12 21:02:08] mrp1nk : rapidtrades: remember that top convo. we are already past 610/660
[2016-06-12 21:02:21] rapidtrades : 690 new top
[2016-06-12 21:02:31] mrp1nk : (finex price)
[2016-06-12 21:02:41] rapidtrades : sure why not
[2016-06-12 21:03:13] mrp1nk : nah i mean the top of the halving pump
[2016-06-12 21:03:30] rapidtrades : 690-700
[2016-06-12 21:03:41] MrRGnome : Yeah he thinks this is it.
[2016-06-12 21:04:12] mrp1nk : rapidtrades: if i remember correctly you guessed 610 last time, and me too
[2016-06-12 21:04:24] rapidtrades : yea
[2016-06-12 21:04:38] rapidtrades : that was top for a while :)
[2016-06-12 21:05:02] mrp1nk : yup, that pump escalated quickly :)
[2016-06-12 21:05:39] laurenssteen : It's gonna go over 1000 in the first month, because of the halving
[2016-06-12 21:05:54] rapidtrades : sure buddy
[2016-06-12 21:06:10] justinlooking : 4583
[2016-06-12 21:06:19] rapidtrades : when newbs come out of the woodwork with 1,000 forecasts i start to worry
[2016-06-12 21:06:29] null : what does 12% DPF mean?
[2016-06-12 21:06:34] MrRGnome : actual cost to mine a btc in a post halving world will be less than 500 USD for miner bought int he last year, significantly less for some
[2016-06-12 21:06:41] null : does that mean that longs will lose 12% of their profit?
[2016-06-12 21:06:43] rapidtrades : if forex traders start to talk about and trade bitcoin, that's another red flat
[2016-06-12 21:06:43] Yumi : means they take 12% of your profit
[2016-06-12 21:06:52] laurenssteen : then the bubble will collapse 1 month after it
[2016-06-12 21:06:54] null : what happens to shorts that are currently losing money?
[2016-06-12 21:07:03] rapidtrades : null: ur cool
[2016-06-12 21:07:04] null : they don't get affected by DPE?
[2016-06-12 21:07:04] Yumi : only effects profits
[2016-06-12 21:07:10] null : ok
[2016-06-12 21:07:11] null : well
[2016-06-12 21:07:17] null : it will probably rekt me on the way down
[2016-06-12 21:07:21] MrRGnome : they cause DPE
[2016-06-12 21:07:29] null : bull walks up the stairs bear jumps down the window
[2016-06-12 21:07:30] rapidtrades : its not short/long thing, its whether ur in profit since rebalance
[2016-06-12 21:07:35] null : DPE will be more severe on way down
[2016-06-12 21:07:37] null : for shorts
[2016-06-12 21:07:45] rapidtrades : maybe :)
[2016-06-12 21:07:58] Yumi : but lets say you short now and it goes down but not enough to clear liqs and still is DPE so you also get profit cut
[2016-06-12 21:08:02] rapidtrades : if we crash that LIQ will get filled tho
[2016-06-12 21:08:59] rapidtrades : Yumi: right...its now at 656....so if u short now and we don't go below that, you'll get some DPE
[2016-06-12 21:09:26] MrRGnome : The DPE problems are insane, I think a better settling algorithm that relied on static volume would cause much less DPE, because it would have a real idea of portions of the orderbook that won't be suddenly withdrawn.
[2016-06-12 21:09:34] tscha : lockhedge: where this it say about the cap?
[2016-06-12 21:09:42] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTM16`: Buy 500 @ 702.08
[2016-06-12 21:10:09] stf28 : bitcoin is going to 750-780 range now
[2016-06-12 21:10:20] MrRGnome : in what time frame? stf28
[2016-06-12 21:10:26] Blargwaffle : 900-1000 by halving.
[2016-06-12 21:10:48] rapidtrades : stop guys u'll jinx it
[2016-06-12 21:11:05] Blargwaffle : Well, maybe a week after halving...
[2016-06-12 21:11:22] Yumi : tscha: is emails they sent
[2016-06-12 21:11:24] Yumi : The daily funding rate for all BitMEX swaps will now be capped at 75% of the Initial Margin minus the Maintenance Margin. For XBTUSD which has an Initial Margin of 2% and a Maintenance Margin of 0.50%, the maximum daily funding rate is now 1.125% per day.
[2016-06-12 21:11:36] MrRGnome : The only thing I predict is that within 12 months of this bubble ending a bigger bubble will occur.
[2016-06-12 21:11:46] rapidtrades : doubtful
[2016-06-12 21:11:58] rapidtrades : a prolonged bear market is more likely
[2016-06-12 21:11:59] lockhedge : tscha: and the rate can rise higher than 75% of IM (0.375%) at once
[2016-06-12 21:11:59] justinlooking : is it hypershitcoinisation time?
[2016-06-12 21:12:08] stf28 : yes week max i see 3 days down now that banks open
[2016-06-12 21:12:20] tscha : when was this email sent?
[2016-06-12 21:12:21] lockhedge : *can never rise higher...
[2016-06-12 21:12:38] rapidtrades : this chat's gone nuts now
[2016-06-12 21:12:39] Yumi : 29th of May
[2016-06-12 21:12:48] rapidtrades : everyone's talking past each other
[2016-06-12 21:14:09] stf28 : bfx walls disappearing
[2016-06-12 21:14:35] MrRGnome : rapidtrades bubbles and crashes are more frequent than long term bear markets in btc history, we've only really had 2 long term bear markets one in 2011 and one in 2015, why do you feel another long term bear is coming after this bubble when we just broke a long term bear?
[2016-06-12 21:14:41] lockhedge : tscha: same text in the swap guide https://www.bitmex.com/app/swapsGuide
[2016-06-12 21:15:06] REKT : Liquidated long on `LTCXBT`: Sell 638 @ 0.00800
[2016-06-12 21:15:16] stf28 : i did not really expected this 650-750 in one day
[2016-06-12 21:15:25] stf28 : but hey this is bitcoooin
[2016-06-12 21:15:29] rapidtrades : it was 680 pleb
[2016-06-12 21:15:45] rapidtrades : wait
[2016-06-12 21:15:52] rapidtrades : what are u talking about
[2016-06-12 21:16:00] rapidtrades : we're still below 700
[2016-06-12 21:16:24] MrRGnome : not in china
[2016-06-12 21:16:37] rapidtrades : MrRGnome: idk halvenings seem to follow that boom/bust cycle
[2016-06-12 21:17:17] MrRGnome : That's kind of what I'm betting on rapidtrades. I could be wrong though, past performance is not indicative of future performance, but similar contexts may be.
[2016-06-12 21:19:56] stf28 : still everybody hodls
[2016-06-12 21:23:10] tscha : anybody from support here?
[2016-06-12 21:24:04] stf28 : lol its going up agaain

[2016-06-12 21:27:42] stf28 : more
[2016-06-12 21:27:53] stf28 : numbers now doesn't matter
[2016-06-12 21:28:38] stf28 : lets crack this dpe
[2016-06-12 21:29:44] MrRGnome : haven't had a single new low in so damn long. it'll give eventually, even if just short term. Be careful fellas.
[2016-06-12 21:31:21] daveberns1 : who knows, we could be over $1K by tomorrow at this rate
[2016-06-12 21:31:29] Stunnedmuffin : new here o/
[2016-06-12 21:32:30] stf28 : who is still short?
[2016-06-12 21:33:01] lockhedge : my mm bot is short since $450
[2016-06-12 21:33:22] daveberns1 : yum
[2016-06-12 21:33:44] stf28 : lockhedge: how's that?
[2016-06-12 21:33:59] stf28 : you earn more from the funding than from mming?
[2016-06-12 21:34:11] stf28 : btw china 719$
[2016-06-12 21:35:01] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBTUSD`: Buy 2906 @ 684.37
[2016-06-12 21:37:02] lockhedge : stf28: spread+commission+interest+premium, the entry price is constantly rising, so it's now above 690 and not 450 anymore
[2016-06-12 21:37:35] stf28 : nice :)
[2016-06-12 21:40:13] luckynuke : closed long
[2016-06-12 21:42:28] MrRGnome : nice, that little ride down just bought me a couple lunches
[2016-06-12 21:45:52] luckynuke : fick nicht mit dem ficker
[2016-06-12 21:45:58] BTCDJS : the first cut is the deepest
[2016-06-12 21:46:14] stf28 : i find it scary to be short on this kind of moves you must have tuned your bot well !
[2016-06-12 21:46:28] GingerDan : China will be able to deposit/withdraw again tomorrow. Just some food for thought.
[2016-06-12 21:46:54] MrRGnome : I find it hard to call anything in a bubble, the easiest thing IMO is to wait for the hard falling red knives and ride them to the greens.
[2016-06-12 21:47:02] MrRGnome : and simply hold btc
[2016-06-12 21:51:39] luckynuke : GingerDan: whats your opinion ? bullish or bearish
[2016-06-12 21:56:46] dharmabum : Asked this before, but what's the best/most flexible way to lock in **BTC against USD** to step off the rocket? Flexible in the sense that one might need to get on the rocket again…
[2016-06-12 21:57:26] BombaUcigasa : Short XBT
[2016-06-12 21:57:36] BombaUcigasa : Close short to get back
[2016-06-12 21:57:49] BombaUcigasa : It's not ... rocket science
[2016-06-12 21:58:26] dharmabum : BombaUcigasa: haha, good. one.
[2016-06-12 21:59:28] dharmabum : BombaUcigasa: So use margin to short exactly the BTC amount held, and any appreciation in BTC will be offset by the short loss, and vice versa?
[2016-06-12 21:59:53] dharmabum : BombaUcigasa: So an XBT Pepetual Swap?
[2016-06-12 22:00:02] BombaUcigasa : Short ANY BTC
[2016-06-12 22:00:26] BombaUcigasa : But the notional/leveraged position should be the size of your desired USD stake
[2016-06-12 22:00:39] BombaUcigasa : So for 50X, only short 2% of the total in margin
[2016-06-12 22:01:20] Yumi : I don't consider the swap to be good hedge instrument since it does socializing losses
[2016-06-12 22:01:52] dharmabum : BombaUcigasa: thanks. I comprehend.
[2016-06-12 22:01:54] Yumi : and Insurance Fund is currently rekt
[2016-06-12 22:01:54] BombaUcigasa : Will DPE ever reset?
[2016-06-12 22:02:07] dharmabum : Yumi: Cool, so what would you suggest? (if anything!)
[2016-06-12 22:02:19] Yumi : it resets daily
[2016-06-12 22:02:41] BTCDJS : BombaUcigasa: when we go down it will
[2016-06-12 22:03:32] GingerDan : luckynuke: ATM I'm long, but I halved my position size at $650. I think Chinese may try to take proffits, and I think we are due for some sort of correction, so playing it by ear now
[2016-06-12 22:05:09] BTCDJS : GingerDan: my trade plan has bitcoin dropping as low as 540. Would you agree?
[2016-06-12 22:05:09] GingerDan : I posted this earlier, and is partly the reason I closed half my position: https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/G9xxD6Ir-This-could-be-the-end-of-the-line-for-now/
[2016-06-12 22:05:48] luckynuke : how long do you trade ?
[2016-06-12 22:06:31] GingerDan : So my estimate was $560 based on previous resistance/support. So I would agree with that general area, yes.
[2016-06-12 22:07:29] luckynuke : hmm china is above 700$ ...
[2016-06-12 22:09:13] BTCDJS : luckynuke: yeah. what will they do tomorrow? buy or sell?
[2016-06-12 22:09:59] luckynuke : experienced trader will take profit, but all the others will max. take the half of their profits and let it go
[2016-06-12 22:10:39] luckynuke : because of the greed
[2016-06-12 22:11:01] luckynuke : btw. china woke up already
[2016-06-12 22:11:11] 1QaZxSw2 : "Greed is good, greed works"
[2016-06-12 22:11:17] luckynuke : lol
[2016-06-12 22:11:43] BTCDJS : damn china
[2016-06-12 22:11:46] luckynuke : i do the hodle :)
[2016-06-12 22:12:26] BTCDJS : china is doing the kansas city shuffle
[2016-06-12 22:12:48] luckynuke : Tell me more pls
[2016-06-12 22:13:21] GingerDan : Thinking about it they have been able to take profit over the past few days on positions, by simply exchanging. Yet they have not. They will now be able to add to positions if they want.
[2016-06-12 22:13:24] BTCDJS : luckynuke: you never saw the film Lucky Number Slevin?
[2016-06-12 22:13:43] GingerDan : luckynuke: You look one way. They go the other.
[2016-06-12 22:13:58] luckynuke : BTCDJS: lol no :D
[2016-06-12 22:14:10] luckynuke : GingerDan: maybe they will

[2016-06-12 22:27:41] rapidtrades : damit...they should've included my reply to sleger
[2016-06-12 22:27:50] rapidtrades : now i look like a dick
[2016-06-12 22:27:54] luckynuke : 10k$ for bitmex
[2016-06-12 22:28:19] luckynuke : bb i´ll open a bitcoin exchange with 500x leverage
[2016-06-12 22:28:35] mrp1nk : why got bitmex so shitty lately?
[2016-06-12 22:28:41] MrRGnome : Sure, so long as you replace the text on the buy and sell buttons to "donate"
[2016-06-12 22:28:47] BTCDJS : pfffft. Now you look like a dick?
[2016-06-12 22:29:00] luckynuke : MrRGnome: nice idea thanks. You can get 20% if you want
[2016-06-12 22:29:09] rapidtrades : BTCDJS: lol
[2016-06-12 22:29:27] luckynuke : china still above 715$
[2016-06-12 22:29:27] MrRGnome : I'll tkae my 20%, thank you
[2016-06-12 22:29:35] mrp1nk : #iwantmy7dback
[2016-06-12 22:30:07] luckynuke : lol i would never put 10k on an exchange o.o
[2016-06-12 22:30:32] mrp1nk : this shit started when the p. swap was introduced
[2016-06-12 22:30:59] luckynuke : btw. are here experienced trader ?
[2016-06-12 22:31:03] rapidtrades : mrp1nk: did it rly? don't u remember a 20-30% DPE back in november?
[2016-06-12 22:31:15] BTCDJS : rapidtrades: ?
[2016-06-12 22:31:24] rapidtrades : high leverage plus limits for liquidations is a recipe for disaster
[2016-06-12 22:31:48] mrp1nk : rapidtrades: i remember, but this what one day/week or not?
[2016-06-12 22:31:48] rapidtrades : we've always been one runaway market from this and now it could happen
[2016-06-12 22:32:02] mrp1nk : what=was
[2016-06-12 22:32:19] j8 : rapidtrades: and do you remember going to 510 and back, with a $45 premium on XBT24H, with zero DPE?
[2016-06-12 22:32:53] rapidtrades : like i've advocated for months, there's a reason margin calls get dumped on the market everyone but in crypto land
[2016-06-12 22:33:02] rapidtrades : everywhere*
[2016-06-12 22:33:14] jordanbitfort : im about to go take a shower. by the law of me missing everything, price will be 700+ when im back
[2016-06-12 22:34:00] rapidtrades : j8: right ...key word there is ''and back''
[2016-06-12 22:34:08] rapidtrades : DPE is only a problem in runaway markets
[2016-06-12 22:34:28] rapidtrades : problem is bitcoin was range-bound ever since okc introduced clawbacks (and everyone followed)
[2016-06-12 22:34:34] j8 : that's true, but you gotta admit, the whole system of this swap encourages DPE
[2016-06-12 22:34:37] rapidtrades : so this is the first real stress test
[2016-06-12 22:34:44] luckynuke : any experienced trader here ?
[2016-06-12 22:35:22] rapidtrades : j8: swap seems defective but i have no experience to know for sure
[2016-06-12 22:35:45] BTCDJS : luckynuke: nope. all amateurs
[2016-06-12 22:35:48] j8 : rapidtrades: also consider that there's DPE left over from yesterday's liquidations. that didn't happen on the 24H (except it could with the 48H but not longer than 2 days)
[2016-06-12 22:35:50] rapidtrades : arthur says he designed these types of products for GS so maybe he can fix it smhow
[2016-06-12 22:36:00] luckynuke : BTCDJS: k. any tips for noobies ?
[2016-06-12 22:36:02] rapidtrades : j8: right
[2016-06-12 22:36:07] j8 : nothing like this exists in the real world
[2016-06-12 22:36:07] rapidtrades : fair point
[2016-06-12 22:36:25] BTCDJS : luckynuke: don't get REKT
[2016-06-12 22:36:54] rapidtrades : it seems highly unstable as a trading product that's suppose to follow BTC
[2016-06-12 22:37:05] luckynuke : BTCDJS: not new, but thanks for your effort
[2016-06-12 22:37:14] 1QaZxSw2 : tough to trade with a 14% DPE. This is bigger than income ta
[2016-06-12 22:37:25] lockhedge : j8: you can compare this swap to an open end certificate or a rolling turbo in germany
[2016-06-12 22:37:43] rapidtrades : lockhedge: do those have expiry date
[2016-06-12 22:37:48] lockhedge : no
[2016-06-12 22:38:03] rapidtrades : interesting
[2016-06-12 22:38:06] j8 : right i've heard of those, is there a way to claim the contracts
[2016-06-12 22:38:19] j8 : at the underlying price. or something like that
[2016-06-12 22:38:21] luckynuke : any Germans here ?
[2016-06-12 22:38:28] BTCDJS : luckynuke:http://technical-analysis-addins.com/trading-gann-rules.php
[2016-06-12 22:39:54] mrp1nk : BTCDJS: i see you're spreading the word
[2016-06-12 22:40:00] mrp1nk : good good
[2016-06-12 22:40:12] BTCDJS : mrp1nk: yes its a very helpful link mate
[2016-06-12 22:40:26] BTCDJS : luckynuke: a wise man gave me that link
[2016-06-12 22:40:46] rapidtrades : new highs for usd/cnh 6.6080
[2016-06-12 22:40:54] luckynuke : BTCDJS: sounds helpful, thanks
[2016-06-12 22:41:15] rapidtrades : only the PBOC can stop this shitshow now
[2016-06-12 22:41:24] Yumi : what you guys think about swap product with low leverage and not being subject to DPE, for hedging purposes and as direct competition to bitfinex lending?
[2016-06-12 22:41:47] 1QaZxSw2 : what is PBOC
[2016-06-12 22:41:55] ButchPooch : What is unrealised roe?
[2016-06-12 22:41:56] mrp1nk : BTCDJS: hehe ;-)
[2016-06-12 22:42:18] rapidtrades : i think they'll never introduce it and gambolers here won't trade it @Yumi
[2016-06-12 22:42:25] j8 : my understanding is that perpetual contracts are either quoted by a broker, or if it's traded on an open market there is some channel to actually arbitrage the contract with the underlying. even if there is a fee or a time restriction on claiming contracts at the underlying price, it's what holds it together
[2016-06-12 22:42:51] Yumi : it would be nice hedge instrument
[2016-06-12 22:42:57] stf28 : here it's just a gamble between us
[2016-06-12 22:43:19] stf28 : that's why there so few money to pay when it's obvisously climbing
[2016-06-12 22:43:30] BTCDJS : ButchPooch: hover the mouse over the word
[2016-06-12 22:43:43] Yumi : bitmex started as hedge platform before they went full casino way
[2016-06-12 22:43:47] BTCDJS : in the positions tab
[2016-06-12 22:43:51] rapidtrades : ppl don't hover enough over shit
[2016-06-12 22:43:53] ButchPooch : Im from mobile @BTCDJS
[2016-06-12 22:44:08] luckynuke : was gann blind ?
[2016-06-12 22:44:20] rapidtrades : luckynuke: no but he was insane
[2016-06-12 22:44:33] luckynuke : rapidtrades: why ? I dont know him
[2016-06-12 22:45:35] ButchPooch : I have a negative realised PNL but a positive unrealised ROE. PNL is bigger than ROE. Does it mean that if I close the position it will be negative?
[2016-06-12 22:46:07] BTCDJS : someone?^^^^
[2016-06-12 22:46:15] Yumi : depends if you close above/below entry price
[2016-06-12 22:47:42] 1QaZxSw2 : ButchPooch, you need a masters in math to trade here
[2016-06-12 22:48:05] justinlooking : ButchPooch: i prefer not to look at ROE, if you change the margin box to advanced and use unrealised pnl + wallet balance for current mark to market (although because of socialized losses that's still not definitive)
[2016-06-12 22:48:08] 1QaZxSw2 : im basically copying the paper off my asian kid next to me
[2016-06-12 22:48:19] rapidtrades : lol
[2016-06-12 22:48:55] luckynuke : china is still above 720
[2016-06-12 22:49:01] BTCDJS : damn Ive only got GCSE maths. Im fucked
[2016-06-12 22:49:08] 1QaZxSw2 : weird. spot is making new highs and bitmx
[2016-06-12 22:49:15] ButchPooch : justinlooking: ill try from pc
[2016-06-12 22:49:19] ButchPooch : Thank you
[2016-06-12 22:49:30] Yumi : ignore ROE, unrealised PNL, focus on entry and exit price
