This is a mirror of the original BitMEX trollbox archive that used to be online here.
BitMEX disabled their archive after the DDOS attack so I have decided to make my mirror publicly available.

Well now, a few days after I made this mirror available to the public, the original archive from BitMEX is online again.
But since it is still limited (neutered to the last few hundred messages) I will keep my FULL mirror alive.

You have access to more than 50 million trollbox posts. This is more than 7 gigabyte of data hosted on a $5 server so please be patient or consider a donation

[2016-02-17 09:21:09] BitMEX_Wally : Both
[2016-02-17 09:34:50] micmix : scheduled downtime? when?
[2016-02-17 09:35:20] tscha : 14.00 utc
[2016-02-17 09:35:33] tscha : when little micmix is sleeping :)
[2016-02-17 09:43:24] chromaticcr : BitMEX_Wally: How simpleOrderQty round
[2016-02-17 09:43:59] micmix : tscha: thanks, didn't see the announcement :-)
[2016-02-17 09:45:18] BitMEX_Wally : chromaticcr: You do not have to round simpleOrderQty on an order, it can be any fractional amount of the underlying
[2016-02-17 09:45:28] BitMEX_Wally : The number of contracts is then automatically calculated
[2016-02-17 09:46:11] tscha : micmix: btw, did you find a solution to the bulk order issue consuming too many calls?
[2016-02-17 09:46:27] BitMEX_Wally : tscha: Sam fixed that I think
[2016-02-17 09:48:08] micmix : tscha: Sam said it's an issue when array is stringified. if you don't stringify you'll be good, haven't tried yet
[2016-02-17 09:48:24] micmix : BitMEX_Wally: oh cool, glad it's fixed
[2016-02-17 09:52:09] tscha : so we are all set for moon... very good
[2016-02-17 09:52:28] tscha : micmix: btw, antpool mined 2nd classic block if you haven't heard
[2016-02-17 09:52:55] tscha : majority of ant runs still on core, but they are testing classic
[2016-02-17 09:53:17] micmix : yeah, saw that on nodecounter today
[2016-02-17 10:34:23] habibi : 267k liquidation, nice:)
[2016-02-17 10:36:15] laisee : damn, was that the 'new' guy?
[2016-02-17 10:36:26] habibi : i bet so
[2016-02-17 10:36:34] habibi : love him
[2016-02-17 10:36:43] tscha : still unsure what this guy is doing
[2016-02-17 10:36:45] habibi : liquidity provider as i said before :)
[2016-02-17 10:38:14] tscha : sometimes he trades directly before spot moves substantially, sometimes he is just doing dumb things... yesterday (well I think he was him) he bought like $2 above premium 10min before settlement
[2016-02-17 10:38:19] tscha : pretty weird dude
[2016-02-17 10:39:33] habibi : nah tscha i think its just some of us trying to do some frontrunning of china moves
[2016-02-17 10:39:54] habibi : and yea the second option u mention is totally him looking at open interest at that time
[2016-02-17 10:43:16] tscha : who is "frontrunning" China here? this is definitely him, you can see open interest building up by *a lot* right before many big moves
[2016-02-17 10:46:04] habibi : actually i would say he was totally wrong in many cases
[2016-02-17 10:50:14] habibi : i dont know who beside me but i bet someones do it as well, anyway i don't think its his job. he is rather very dramatic guy in terms of building his position
[2016-02-17 10:52:19] tscha : talking solely about bitmex, I am pretty sure he made a loss here too overall
[2016-02-17 11:07:18] habibi : rapidtrades: hows ur mood?
[2016-02-17 11:09:24] 00Smurf : i know i've made a few blunders getting used to the interface
[2016-02-17 11:10:09] 00Smurf : i closed a small long on a large bid and ended up opening a huge short
[2016-02-17 11:10:37] habibi : yea but u did it once and u were carefull probally( i did as well :P)
[2016-02-17 11:10:57] 00Smurf : tried to buy the short out with a long, but all it did was charge me trading fees
[2016-02-17 11:11:07] habibi : and he did same action at least 3 times on diffrent days, and even at same day few times that aciton so it was intetionally opening long
[2016-02-17 11:11:09] 00Smurf : lol and yes ive been super careful since
[2016-02-17 11:11:23] habibi : short*
[2016-02-17 11:24:39] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 5 @ 413.45
[2016-02-17 11:49:50] jung1 : BitMEX_Wally: which version of bitcoi client will you support?
[2016-02-17 11:55:05] tscha : jung1: they run both clients AFAIK
[2016-02-17 11:56:43] rapidtrades : boom, done and done
[2016-02-17 11:57:22] 00Smurf : the splitting of the clients is dumb
[2016-02-17 11:57:49] tscha : 00Smurf: it is not a split, it's an upgrade
[2016-02-17 11:57:49] 00Smurf : we alsmot ran out of bids on xbt24
[2016-02-17 11:58:07] 00Smurf : your talkign about the classic vs the new one
[2016-02-17 11:58:25] tscha : no; i am talking about classic vs core
[2016-02-17 11:59:12] jung1 : Both? There will be no double spending then?
[2016-02-17 11:59:54] chromaticcr : c'mon, there was originally 32MB in satoshi's version. the liimit doenst really prevent spam
[2016-02-17 12:00:23] tscha : jung1: why would there be double spending?
[2016-02-17 12:00:50] jung1 : Yeah but in couple of years blockchain will be hundreds of gbs
[2016-02-17 12:01:33] chromaticcr : @BitMEX_Wally: Today's trade history on bitmex site is attributed with Text:'Submitted via API.', might be confusing to some user
[2016-02-17 12:01:37] jung1 : Couse if there will be coins generated in current version there could be possibility to move them to both versions
[2016-02-17 12:01:41] rapidtrades : oh look...we're bullish all of a sudden
[2016-02-17 12:01:52] 00Smurf : lol who knew
[2016-02-17 12:02:02] 00Smurf : they stacked asks right at end
[2016-02-17 12:02:09] 00Smurf : then stacked bids 1 min before close
[2016-02-17 12:02:13] 00Smurf : interesting tactic
[2016-02-17 12:02:25] chromaticcr : ;)
[2016-02-17 12:02:41] chromaticcr : you mean the 20k order?
[2016-02-17 12:03:15] tscha : jung1: if there is a split to classic (meaning they will reach 75%), then a 4 week period starts before the fork happens. So by the time the fork activates, 99% (most likely more) miners will run Classic, meaning the other chain can be ignored
[2016-02-17 12:04:55] jung1 : If pools and exchanges will not be on same front there could be some serious dump
[2016-02-17 12:05:14] jung1 : Investors will be not comfortable
[2016-02-17 12:05:19] 00Smurf : 8 mins before
[2016-02-17 12:05:21] 00Smurf : http://prntscr.com/a4e933
[2016-02-17 12:05:25] jung1 : Cant wait
[2016-02-17 12:05:32] ayy lmao : downtime in
[2016-02-17 12:05:41] 00Smurf : http://prntscr.com/a4e9aw
[2016-02-17 12:05:47] 00Smurf : ^2 mins before
[2016-02-17 12:05:48] rapidtrades : when's downtime?
[2016-02-17 12:05:53] ayy lmao : 2 hours?
[2016-02-17 12:05:53] tscha : jung1: exactly the opposite is true.. why do you think the price is rising?
[2016-02-17 12:06:12] j8 : 00Smurf: it's just people trying to close and get maker rebate instead of paying settlement fees
[2016-02-17 12:06:22] jung1 : Couse we stayed too long on one prjce
[2016-02-17 12:06:28] rapidtrades : lol
[2016-02-17 12:06:35] tscha : jung1: I suggest you read those slides: http://www.slideshare.net/BrianArmstrong29/bitcoin-is-not-splitting-in-two-it-is-upgrading-58176110
[2016-02-17 12:06:35] ayy lmao : i think 14:00 - 14:30 UTC
[2016-02-17 12:06:38] 00Smurf : forgive me newb question
[2016-02-17 12:06:42] 00Smurf : but what is maker rebate?
[2016-02-17 12:06:59] jung1 : Thanks I will
[2016-02-17 12:07:07] j8 : 00Smurf: you only pay fees if you hit someone's order, if they hit yours you get paid
[2016-02-17 12:07:41] 00Smurf : ahh
[2016-02-17 12:08:00] 00Smurf : so closing or opening into an exsiting bid, means you pay trade fees
[2016-02-17 12:08:10] j8 : yes
[2016-02-17 12:08:16] jung1 : Yup
[2016-02-17 12:08:21] 00Smurf : whereas if you place a bid or ask and it gets run over so to speak you dont have to pay anything
[2016-02-17 12:08:36] jung1 : Correct
[2016-02-17 12:08:41] tscha : jung1: those slides were even translated into Chinese and posted in major Chinese forums, gaining a lot of attention and support
[2016-02-17 12:09:06] 00Smurf : so they stack bids in the hope that someone will either have a large short to close, or a large long to close and when forced to settle the price will jump up or down into their bids
[2016-02-17 12:09:13] 00Smurf : thank you
[2016-02-17 12:10:35] jung1 : De nada
[2016-02-17 12:11:09] j8 : 00Smurf: yep, they will even bid 10-20 cents above the settlement price (to close if they're long)
[2016-02-17 12:11:15] chromaticcr : @00Smurf have fun finding my fingerprint around http://i.snag.gy/tq3CA.jpg
[2016-02-17 12:11:23] rapidtrades : well.....all I need now is a moster rally
[2016-02-17 12:12:06] jung1 : So i open short
[2016-02-17 12:12:16] mrp1nk : new guy got #rekt i see

[2016-02-17 12:12:40] rapidtrades : PRAISE THE GREEN DILDO
[2016-02-17 12:12:54] jung1 : 00Smurf: Yeah and now will be fun fitch china futures

[2016-02-17 12:14:01] jung1 : Now i trade here and lend on polo
[2016-02-17 12:14:42] chromaticcr : polo rate have gotten far down since last few hrs
[2016-02-17 12:14:58] 00Smurf : polo has come along way
[2016-02-17 12:15:10] jung1 : Laggy as hell
[2016-02-17 12:15:12] 00Smurf : ive been with crypto since nov 2013
[2016-02-17 12:15:21] jung1 : But biggest altcoin exchange
[2016-02-17 12:15:23] 00Smurf : nice to see a decent exchange stick around
[2016-02-17 12:15:44] jung1 : Have you traded on mcxnow?
[2016-02-17 12:16:00] 00Smurf : so if i try and buy my own order, i basically get charged double the fee.
[2016-02-17 12:16:08] 00Smurf : i have not
[2016-02-17 12:16:11] jung1 : No

[2016-02-17 12:16:23] jung1 : You will close your position

[2016-02-17 12:16:32] jung1 : Was
[2016-02-17 12:16:49] rapidtrades : FINEX DOWN
[2016-02-17 12:16:51] 00Smurf : i tried to do that when i messed up and closed my long by opening a 3x larger short.
[2016-02-17 12:17:18] 00Smurf : all it did was take trade fees and kept the short open
[2016-02-17 12:17:43] jung1 : Coll exchange wrote in c++, really fast but owner run away with some coins
[2016-02-17 12:18:20] jung1 : 00Smurf: Try on testnet first beforu you put real coins
[2016-02-17 12:18:21] mrp1nk : was this 267019 new guy or sledger?
[2016-02-17 12:18:31] REKT : Liquidated long on `ETH7D`: Sell 20 @ 0.00935
[2016-02-17 12:18:34] mrp1nk : +short liquidation
[2016-02-17 12:18:50] 00Smurf : wasn't me, i closed into the 267019 order
[2016-02-17 12:19:32] 00Smurf : and opened a massive short, because it used the whole amount
[2016-02-17 12:19:42] 00Smurf : not my intention
[2016-02-17 12:19:44] chromaticcr : nice move bro, I missed it.... havin lesson...

[2016-02-17 13:36:30] j8 : arbitrage001: is that the losing side of an arb
[2016-02-17 13:36:43] podizzle3k : lol thats some arb
[2016-02-17 13:37:08] podizzle3k : sounds more like some 100x shenanigans to me
[2016-02-17 13:37:51] j8 : just depends on your bankroll
[2016-02-17 13:40:07] arbitrage001 : total asset by usd only went down $300
[2016-02-17 13:44:28] j8 : you must hedge all your margin then?
[2016-02-17 13:48:37] arbitrage001 : yes, but only to certain extend
[2016-02-17 13:49:06] arbitrage001 : if bitcoin continue to go up like this every week, i will be in trouble
[2016-02-17 13:51:45] BitMEX_Sam : Just an FYI, as per the email we sent around, we'll be taking the engine and webservers down very shortly for maintenance.
[2016-02-17 13:52:14] arbitrage001 : for how long?
[2016-02-17 13:53:45] BitMEX_Arthur : No longer than 30 min
[2016-02-17 13:54:01] BitMEX_Sam : Likely shorter, but this is technology - plan for the worst.
[2016-02-17 13:55:02] DareDevil : and there comes the dump, in the middle of the down-time ;-)
[2016-02-17 13:55:13] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 35 @ 418.26
[2016-02-17 13:55:29] BitMEX_Sam : We'll make it as short as we can, and will announce here in chat & on Twitter as soon as we come back.
[2016-02-17 13:55:33] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 50 @ 417.90
[2016-02-17 13:59:08] BitMEX_Wally : 1 minute
[2016-02-17 13:59:24] Libertyrisk : what are restrictions right now for people based in the US?
[2016-02-17 13:59:58] BitMEX_Sam : Libertyrisk: We'll get back to you after the downtime.
[2016-02-17 14:00:08] Libertyrisk : thanks
[2016-02-17 14:00:18] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: u changing ui right now?
[2016-02-17 14:00:23] BitMEX_Sam : habibi: No, security update
[2016-02-17 14:00:32] habibi : good, leave old ui alone! :)
[2016-02-17 14:01:00] djuan : habibi: moon?
[2016-02-17 14:08:09] habibi : 7 minutes only :)?
[2016-02-17 14:08:09] tscha : cool, even an own error message for exchange suspended
[2016-02-17 14:17:07] BitMEX_Sam : Almost done - will announce before the engine unsuspends.
[2016-02-17 14:23:29] BitMEX_Sam : We'll be unsuspending the engine in just a moment.
[2016-02-17 14:23:39] BitMEX_Sam : We're back.
[2016-02-17 14:24:33] tscha : A+ communication
[2016-02-17 14:25:31] Mangalica : yay
[2016-02-17 14:26:54] BitMEX_Sam : Just a postmortem; the cause for the maintenance at such short notice was https://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.com/2016/02/cve-2015-7547-glibc-getaddrinfo-stack.html
[2016-02-17 14:27:34] BitMEX_Sam : While we don't believe that an exploit yet exists that can bypass ASLR, that doesn't mean that it doesn't. So we've patched and restarted every BitMEX system as glibc is core to just about everything.
[2016-02-17 14:27:59] habibi : good for u guys
[2016-02-17 14:28:04] habibi : better save then sorry
[2016-02-17 14:28:17] tscha : haha, was just reading the article
[2016-02-17 14:29:49] BitMEX_Sam : Yeah. Yet another critical exploit; goes to show how extremely difficult security is.
[2016-02-17 14:40:03] sleger : BitMEX_Sam: why is the ref price so different there : http://www.ig.com/sg/ig-indices/china-a50
[2016-02-17 14:41:27] sleger : it's also different there : http://www.investing.com/indices/china-a50
[2016-02-17 14:43:21] BitMEX_Wally : sleger: Different CFD providers skew their quotes differently?
[2016-02-17 14:43:57] j8 : `[No Controlled Risk, Due to restrictions that exist on trading stocks in the index, IG’s price may differ from the underlying index price.]`
[2016-02-17 14:43:58] sleger : i have no idea i havent looked into why as i thought you may have the answer
[2016-02-17 14:44:20] j8 : ^ from the IG site
[2016-02-17 14:44:25] BitMEX_Wally : IG might be quoting the underlying index
[2016-02-17 14:44:26] sleger : where is the official a50 price ?
[2016-02-17 14:44:40] BitMEX_Arthur : You mean the cash?
[2016-02-17 14:44:46] sleger : cash or fut
[2016-02-17 14:45:05] BitMEX_Arthur : https://www.google.com/finance?cid=12989177
[2016-02-17 14:45:15] BitMEX_Arthur : That's the cash index close as of 17 Feb
[2016-02-17 14:47:04] sleger : http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/XU1:IND is that good for future price?
[2016-02-17 14:47:22] BitMEX_Wally : lockhedge: No comment
[2016-02-17 14:47:34] sleger : or http://www.investing.com/indices/china-a50 ?
[2016-02-17 14:47:55] BitMEX_Wally : The bloomberg link is the futures
[2016-02-17 14:48:00] BitMEX_Wally : investing com also has the futures too
[2016-02-17 14:48:08] BitMEX_Wally : http://www.investing.com/indices/china-a50?cid=104393
[2016-02-17 14:48:41] sleger : What is the difference between http://www.investing.com/indices/china-a50?cid=104393 and http://www.investing.com/indices/china-a50 ?
[2016-02-17 14:48:54] lockhedge : BitMEX_Wally: no comment on your official contract specs?
[2016-02-17 14:49:07] BitMEX_Wally : lockhedge: It is marked to the SGX future price
[2016-02-17 14:49:16] BitMEX_Wally : sleger: One is a random CFD the other is the SGX future price
[2016-02-17 14:49:51] sleger : understood, you're right. Thanks
[2016-02-17 14:52:42] tscha : the thing I like most about bitcoin/cryptos is the free and direct access to markets
[2016-02-17 14:55:23] ctpact : BitMEX_Wally: thats the simbol of A50 into tradingview site I can use? I cannot find it...
[2016-02-17 14:55:55] BitMEX_Wally : ctpact: No idea, tradingview randomly change symbols
[2016-02-17 14:56:03] BitMEX_Wally : For example XBT24H becomes XBT1D on their site...
[2016-02-17 14:56:56] BitMEX_Wally : This uses TradingView chart library for the SGX price: http://www.investing.com/indices/china-a50-chart?cid=104393
[2016-02-17 14:59:28] lockhedge : BitMEX_Wally: how do you mark the price when SGX is closed?
[2016-02-17 15:00:07] BitMEX_Wally : We may use some form of impact mid price marking
[2016-02-17 15:00:15] BitMEX_Wally : Or use a NYSE ETF
[2016-02-17 15:03:30] ctpact : how to trade without chart :)
[2016-02-17 15:04:36] j8 : use the force
[2016-02-17 15:04:53] habibi : tbh i never used chart of futures here
[2016-02-17 15:05:07] j8 : switch off your targeting computer
[2016-02-17 15:05:48] ctpact : so this is the same ? http://invst.ly/13l5x
[2016-02-17 15:07:43] ctpact : or that one? http://invst.ly/13l89
[2016-02-17 15:08:08] ctpact : completely different
[2016-02-17 15:13:09] BitMEX_Arthur : That is a futures contract @ctpact
[2016-02-17 15:13:36] BitMEX_Arthur : The underlying index, which we settle do on expiry date is this https://www.google.com/finance?cid=12989177
[2016-02-17 15:14:01] BitMEX_Arthur : While the SGX future is open, which is the most liquid instrument tracking this index, we mark to that
[2016-02-17 15:14:15] ctpact : yes I know but can you tell me how I can find proper chart :)
[2016-02-17 15:14:39] BitMEX_Arthur : Try the SGX website, or interactive brokers
[2016-02-17 15:15:44] BitMEX_Arthur : http://sgx.com/wps/portal/sgxweb/home/products/derivatives/financials/equity-index/chinaa50
[2016-02-17 15:29:15] sleger : so the fair basis for a50 is not adjusted by hand ?
[2016-02-17 15:30:45] BitMEX_Wally : sleger: It could be, but fair basis over what?
[2016-02-17 15:30:58] BitMEX_Wally : The underlying market is only open for 6 hours
[2016-02-17 15:50:09] sleger : so outside of the open hours, the fair price is manually adjusted to match the market price on bitmex?
[2016-02-17 15:50:28] BitMEX_Wally : Yes
[2016-02-17 15:52:59] tscha : BitMEX_Wally: but your intial market makers are external right?
[2016-02-17 15:53:10] BitMEX_Wally : Yes
[2016-02-17 15:53:52] tscha : btw, do any bitmex employees trade with private accounts here in their free time?
[2016-02-17 15:55:24] BitMEX_Sam : No - we trade on Testnet and occasionally put in test orders here during maintenance
[2016-02-17 15:55:53] tscha : Okay, glad to hear. I know that employees at finex did trade on their own exchange and I found that worrying somehow
[2016-02-17 15:58:28] BitMEX_Wally : We require everyone to trade on testnet. Dog fooding as Microsoft would call it
[2016-02-17 16:09:05] jesperf : BitMEX_Sam: thanks for the calculator fix! love that you're so quick at fixing things like that
[2016-02-17 16:09:20] BitMEX_Sam : :+1: No problem, that's actually a one-liner
[2016-02-17 16:09:34] BitMEX_Sam : I wrote a component a while ago to sync any widget's state to the browser's localStorage - so it's a trivial fix.
[2016-02-17 16:10:00] jesperf : nice :D
[2016-02-17 16:14:06] 00Smurf : darn bots wont let you get abuy
[2016-02-17 16:18:38] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT7D`: Sell 2901 @ 417.05
[2016-02-17 16:22:55] BitMEX_Wally : We mark to the SGX future
[2016-02-17 16:25:34] Juba : If im at the phone and go straight to "ETH7D" it wont load the eth chart, it just keep BTC chart there, but I can go to another BTC alternative and then back to ETH and it shows the ETh chart
[2016-02-17 16:25:53] BitMEX_Wally : lockhedge: IB stands for Internal BitMEX
[2016-02-17 16:26:12] lockhedge : BitMEX_Wally: ah, ok :)
[2016-02-17 16:26:57] bluetonik : I cant deposit anymore =[
[2016-02-17 16:30:04] BitMEX_Wally : bluetonik: You just need to verify your country of residence
[2016-02-17 16:37:56] rapidtrades : finex still lagging
[2016-02-17 16:44:38] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 5461 @ 418.16
[2016-02-17 16:45:38] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 2200 @ 418.67
[2016-02-17 16:45:58] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 10 @ 418.87
[2016-02-17 18:22:54] djuan : BitMEX_Wally: why the withheld profit?
[2016-02-17 18:23:32] sleger : cause we are not at settlement ?
[2016-02-17 18:29:41] REKT : Liquidated short on `XBT24H`: Buy 400 @ 419.86
[2016-02-17 18:29:48] habibi : finex <3

[2016-02-17 18:32:39] ayy lmao : blaze it

[2016-02-17 18:32:49] 00Smurf : toke it up
[2016-02-17 18:33:28] justinlooking : don't mind if i do
[2016-02-17 18:33:32] djuan : daaaayuam!

[2016-02-17 18:57:04] rapidtrades : we were actually close to here this morning (419.90)

[2016-02-17 18:58:36] djuan : rapidtrades: are you from the uk?
[2016-02-17 18:59:41] djuan : just cos u keep using the word pleb
[2016-02-17 19:02:20] djuan : which is used usually by ordinary working class people in a derogatory manner. And i always find it funny how the definition of pleb is an ordinary person from particularly from the working or working class social order
[2016-02-17 19:03:09] rapidtrades : pleb is the new newb, pleb
[2016-02-17 19:03:50] djuan : tell that to the dictionary
[2016-02-17 19:04:48] rapidtrades : http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pleb
[2016-02-17 19:06:41] djuan : yeah that urban dictionary uses more colourful language. probably to appeal to plebs.
[2016-02-17 19:07:01] djuan : learning is fun
[2016-02-17 19:07:10] lockhedge : prolly yes
[2016-02-17 19:08:41] rapidtrades : djuan: still long pleb?
[2016-02-17 19:09:28] djuan : yes rude boi. its badman up here ye?
[2016-02-17 19:10:37] rapidtrades : WHAT
[2016-02-17 19:11:51] rapidtrades : let me rephrase that with more emotion WHAT???!!!!!11111111
[2016-02-17 19:12:30] djuan : lol that was my attempt at slang.
[2016-02-17 19:13:04] djuan : too plebby? you must be upper class pleb
[2016-02-17 19:13:33] djuan : yes mate I'm long. and its exciting
[2016-02-17 19:14:22] rapidtrades : riding this b1tch to d mun!
[2016-02-17 19:14:39] justinlooking : or at least june
[2016-02-17 19:15:04] djuan : yeah I'm on M16 so june
[2016-02-17 19:16:48] rapidtrades : djuan: im short on that one but very small
[2016-02-17 19:16:57] rapidtrades : testing amount
[2016-02-17 19:17:40] djuan : that can't be working out for ya. when did you put a short order in? now?
[2016-02-17 19:17:56] djuan : i went long yesterday and I'm laughing
[2016-02-17 19:18:02] rapidtrades : down $3 now...had it on for a while...was short march before
[2016-02-17 19:21:10] djuan : why short when the market is bullish?
[2016-02-17 19:21:23] rapidtrades : i see it's gone up $65 while spot is up $45
[2016-02-17 19:21:58] rapidtrades : should prolly adjust it at some point...
[2016-02-17 19:22:09] rapidtrades : anyone shorting these for premium? when/how do u adjust?
[2016-02-17 19:23:11] rapidtrades : djuan: i said above it's a test
[2016-02-17 19:23:25] justinlooking : premium is subjective
[2016-02-17 19:34:56] justinlooking : charts seem to have bug when interval set to 24h. on load, the current candle has stale data until a trade triggers a candle update. 6h seems unaffeced
[2016-02-17 19:34:59] justinlooking : *ted
[2016-02-17 19:35:23] rapidtrades : charts have been buggy since i got here months ago
[2016-02-17 19:38:03] REKT : Liquidated long on `XBT24H`: Sell 3124 @ 417.21
[2016-02-17 19:46:15] peasant-wizard : Are OCO orders live?
[2016-02-17 19:46:56] lockhedge : yes
[2016-02-17 19:48:19] peasant-wizard : Are they on by default - if I have a stop and a limit do they pair automatically? I don't see anything OCO in the order controls
[2016-02-17 19:48:51] habibi : peasant-wizard: patient is what u need dear wizard
[2016-02-17 19:48:59] lockhedge : you have to use the API peasant-wizard: https://www.bitmex.com/api/explorer/#!/Order/Order_new see parameter `contingencyType``
[2016-02-17 19:50:38] peasant-wizard : Thanks! Looks a bit out of my league for the moment but excellent nonetheless
[2016-02-17 19:51:48] peasant-wizard : habibi: Are you inferring that there are plans for oco on the front end?
[2016-02-17 19:52:05] habibi : lockhedge: is oco implemented on new ui?
[2016-02-17 20:00:34] lockhedge : habibi: can't find it on testnet, i guess UI implementation takes more time.
[2016-02-17 20:08:16] rapidtrades : so is okc usd now gonna trade at a premium all the time?
[2016-02-17 20:08:38] Swedishnut : could be a sign of weakening dollar?
[2016-02-17 20:09:07] rapidtrades : no
[2016-02-17 20:09:32] rapidtrades : premium compared to finex and rest of usd market
[2016-02-17 20:13:15] rapidtrades : Swedishnut: how are u man? haven't been around
[2016-02-17 20:21:59] BitMEX_Sam : Re: OCO, we'll be implementing a bunch of new order types on the frontend very soon
[2016-02-17 20:22:20] BitMEX_Sam : Testnet has Market/Stop Market, which we've resisted for a while but are finally making it in
[2016-02-17 20:22:29] BitMEX_Sam : As well as hidden orders & post-only orders
[2016-02-17 20:23:15] BitMEX_Sam : Soon we'll do Stop Loss / Take Profit via OCO, and an Entry Order / Stop Loss / Take Profit type via a combination of OCO and OTO
[2016-02-17 20:23:20] BitMEX_Sam : As well as Trailing Stops
[2016-02-17 20:23:55] BitMEX_Sam : Technically the API allows you to do very complex OTO/OCO combinations, as well as OUO (One Updates the Other)
[2016-02-17 20:24:27] BitMEX_Sam : The new UI will launch tomorrow after settlement. Would be very happy to know any of your thoughts on Testnet as I do the final polishing.
[2016-02-17 20:26:15] REKT : Liquidated long on `ETH7D`: Sell 200 @ 0.00910
[2016-02-17 20:30:56] peasant-wizard : BitMEX_Sam: Appreciate the information. Amazing work
[2016-02-17 20:32:08] BitMEX_Sam : :) Thanks - we want BitMEX to be the undisputed technology leader in Bitcoin exchanges.
[2016-02-17 20:43:55] lockhedge : BitMEX_Sam: new UI looks and feels great, still prefer the dark&advanced theme, great that you keep the option
[2016-02-17 20:44:43] lockhedge : horizontal navigation definitely makes sense
[2016-02-17 20:49:18] Libertyrisk : What restrictions are there right now for people based in US?
[2016-02-17 20:51:49] BitMEX_Sam : Libertyrisk: Ah, sorry I forgot to respond to you from earlier.
[2016-02-17 20:52:03] Libertyrisk : No worries I just logged back in
[2016-02-17 20:52:05] BitMEX_Sam : Right now we don't accept any US customers. You may trade on Testnet and chat here, but we cannot allow deposits or trades.
[2016-02-17 20:52:42] BitMEX_Sam : lockhedge: Yeah, I'm personally a big fan of the dark theme.
[2016-02-17 20:52:50] Libertyrisk : Due to CFTC ruling last year?
[2016-02-17 20:53:29] BitMEX_Sam : I can't comment on our reasons, unfortunately.
[2016-02-17 20:54:59] Libertyrisk : no worries
[2016-02-17 20:55:43] Libertyrisk : land of the free!
[2016-02-17 20:55:46] Libertyrisk : good luck with everything
[2016-02-17 21:12:43] BitMEX_Sam : Thanks Libertyrisk - have a good one.
[2016-02-17 21:13:42] DareDevil : Wow...ETH taking a big hit
[2016-02-17 21:14:08] jesperf : what comes up must come down
[2016-02-17 21:14:16] DareDevil : indeed...shorters are happy now
[2016-02-17 21:14:32] jesperf : unfortunately, i'm a sharter
[2016-02-17 21:15:23] DareDevil : ?
[2016-02-17 21:17:13] jesperf : too close to liquidation for comfort :P
[2016-02-17 21:17:51] DareDevil : heheh
[2016-02-17 21:37:51] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: trading altcoins here is best thing ever, would love if u would occasionally add some high volume coins for some time
[2016-02-17 21:38:14] BitMEX_Sam : habibi: Absolutely, we're not at all opposed to that - issue is that volume very quickly comes and goes
[2016-02-17 21:43:42] Swedishnut : Doge would be fun
[2016-02-17 21:44:39] habibi : BitMEX_Sam: agree, thats why i said from time to time and then its gone. some kind of community voting sollution that would show people's expectation as well but on the other hand some prevention from making too much mess here, no idea how to do it but still trading altcoins on futures is great imo.
[2016-02-17 21:44:53] HowDoge : you guys should check out maxcoin, volume out of china has been great and since crapsy demise theirs room for expansion
[2016-02-17 21:45:04] habibi : or u would do sister service called AltMex - just for shitcoins :p
[2016-02-17 21:45:24] Swedishnut : Altmex ftw :P
[2016-02-17 21:45:33] HowDoge : where maxcoin can rule them all
[2016-02-17 21:45:52] habibi : maxcoin is total shitcoin, please dont say more
[2016-02-17 21:46:02] djuan : habibi: lol

[2016-02-17 21:46:57] habibi : ok ok thanks for conversation
[2016-02-17 21:47:09] Swedishnut : or EXP, DGB, FCT might be cool too
[2016-02-17 21:47:24] HowDoge : good for you, talk to you once youve seen the light
[2016-02-17 21:47:26] Mangalica : habibi doesn't sound convinced, but i can't blame him
[2016-02-17 21:47:30] djuan : max seizers first coin is a failure. hence why he no pedals startcoin
[2016-02-17 21:47:53] Mangalica : still? still startcoin?
[2016-02-17 21:47:55] djuan : dab has potential
[2016-02-17 21:47:56] HowDoge : that is the popularly held opinion
[2016-02-17 21:48:00] djuan : DGB
[2016-02-17 21:48:06] habibi : guys stop, we going away from topic.
[2016-02-17 21:48:17] HowDoge : yet maxcoin lives on and just gets more and more volume. sorry habibi
[2016-02-17 21:48:30] habibi : yea yea i made tons of money mining it on first week
[2016-02-17 21:48:35] habibi : then it died

[2016-02-17 21:52:31] HowDoge : habibi I have been saying this from day 1 so dont slate me
[2016-02-17 21:52:50] habibi : HowDoge: from first day of maxcoin? shit man u have to be really big bagholder

[2016-02-17 21:53:09] HowDoge : actually *
[2016-02-17 21:53:18] habibi : u had chance to go out, take profit probally at first day with nice money...now u dreams about these days every single day u see new post from developer or bigger volume. shame :D

[2016-02-17 21:55:59] sleger : HowDoge: what are you gonna do with your maxicoins if you cant even trade them ?
[2016-02-17 21:56:50] HowDoge : oh @sleger still thinking that value is only attributed by means of crypto exchanges
[2016-02-17 21:57:09] sleger : alright, so what are you gonna do with them ?
[2016-02-17 21:57:33] thehawthorne : make them dance
[2016-02-17 21:57:40] HowDoge : I will bater with you for my gold
[2016-02-17 21:57:45] thehawthorne : all night long
[2016-02-17 21:58:03] HowDoge : because thats what you want I presume
[2016-02-17 21:58:23] HowDoge : you wont want my shitty maxcoins
[2016-02-17 21:58:45] HowDoge : you need to see past the now and look ahead like you do with investments
[2016-02-17 21:58:50] sleger : considering its not listed on polo im guessing im not the only one to not want them
[2016-02-17 21:59:44] HowDoge : maxcoin wasnt added to shapeshift either. GG
[2016-02-17 21:59:51] HowDoge : maxcoin is dead
[2016-02-17 22:00:36] habibi : one day u will think"shiet beside his freakin bad english, habibi was right, why i didnt listen him"
[2016-02-17 22:00:42] habibi : u will say*
[2016-02-17 22:00:59] thehawthorne : ...one day
[2016-02-17 22:01:11] HowDoge : just saying theirs a much bigger play at hand here and you dont need to be a smartarse to see it
[2016-02-17 22:01:36] habibi : jjust stop man u need to stop:)
[2016-02-17 22:02:07] sleger : google news -> maxcoin returns first something about big casino coins and then something about your altcoin from... 2014
[2016-02-17 22:02:29] HowDoge : my altcoin ?
[2016-02-17 22:02:30] sleger : I am a very smart "arse" but I dont see it :(
[2016-02-17 22:02:31] HowDoge : no no no
[2016-02-17 22:02:37] habibi : ur argument is volume
[2016-02-17 22:02:52] HowDoge : no that is one small part of a much bigger picture
[2016-02-17 22:02:56] habibi : u think volume is real? on china btc spots? on poloniex eth? anywhere ?
[2016-02-17 22:03:28] thehawthorne : hubobobo no fake volume FOR REAL
[2016-02-17 22:04:10] HowDoge : my argument is their are more silently working away and if you dont want to admit theirs even a chance of that then I cannot reason with you. you may join the rest that hold the similar and in my view misguided opinion
[2016-02-17 22:04:12] habibi : if volume would be real sleger would be owner of fuckin bmw m3 or sth similar! :)
[2016-02-17 22:04:44] Tulip_stefan : the volume is real. Just meaningless. It's not like they publish fake numbers.
[2016-02-17 22:04:44] habibi : good, hope they won't die before they finish making real their ideas
[2016-02-17 22:05:14] HowDoge : "their" is a community, so your point is mute
[2016-02-17 22:05:43] HowDoge : some are just more outspoken than others
[2016-02-17 22:05:46] habibi : Tulip_stefan: yea thats my point. its real but who cares when 20k coins is traded per minute on okc and price is still the same, then 300 coins and price goes up 5cny :p
[2016-02-17 22:06:14] habibi : so hope community will make enough children to finish product :)
[2016-02-17 22:07:26] HowDoge : product... lol make of it want you want I say
[2016-02-17 22:07:33] HowDoge : anyway, nice chatting
[2016-02-17 22:08:38] habibi : agree, conslusion maxcoin is shit:)
[2016-02-17 22:09:09] HowDoge : how many times has bitcoin died, I think maxcoin possibly has died more in less time
[2016-02-17 22:09:16] HowDoge : = throw away your maxcoin
[2016-02-17 22:09:52] habibi : eh u want me to admit that it wasnt alive at all?
[2016-02-17 22:12:25] HowDoge : by your standard you could never admit it having life, which I why I told you to do the math so I dont have to explain to you why their would be the perception of no life
[2016-02-17 22:13:43] HowDoge : I love the idea of doge on Altmex
[2016-02-17 22:14:03] habibi : 0x100=0 man :D its really entertaining to me to counter ur opinions with some shit talk, anyway good luck with maxcoin and take care :)
[2016-02-17 22:14:45] djuan : next stop 450
[2016-02-17 22:14:58] Tulip_stefan : could you just enjoy your altcoins in peace, please? You don't see me spamming bitcoin propaganda either.
[2016-02-17 22:16:08] djuan : Tulip_stefan: you'd be preaching to the quire
[2016-02-17 22:16:40] Tulip_stefan : /me googles phrase
[2016-02-17 22:17:04] jesperf : choir
[2016-02-17 22:17:16] HowDoge : habibi: Likewise! I enjoyed our little spar. All the best !
[2016-02-17 22:17:17] djuan : i can't spell...thats the one
[2016-02-17 22:18:04] Tulip_stefan : rephrase: you don't see me spamming bitcoin propaganda on a non-bitcoin related discussion medium.
[2016-02-17 22:18:09] Tulip_stefan : buy yeah.
[2016-02-17 22:18:14] Tulip_stefan : but yeah*
[2016-02-17 22:18:29] HowDoge : Tulip_stefan: meh, when its on topic its fine
[2016-02-17 22:18:45] HowDoge : this is a trollbox after all
[2016-02-17 22:18:52] BitMEX_Sam : :+1: It is
[2016-02-17 22:19:04] BitMEX_Sam : I agree that Maxcoin is garbage though
[2016-02-17 22:19:11] djuan : ha ha ha
[2016-02-17 22:19:15] HowDoge : haha :)
[2016-02-17 22:19:27] BitMEX_Sam : There was a short period of time where I thought that maybe Keiser was onto something
[2016-02-17 22:19:34] BitMEX_Sam : Then I saw what an obvious P&D Quark & Max was
[2016-02-17 22:19:40] HowDoge : like I said, popularly held opinion
[2016-02-17 22:19:43] djuan : how much is max paying you to spread the gospel?
[2016-02-17 22:19:57] BitMEX_Sam : djuan: Could be Putin by way of RT
[2016-02-17 22:20:04] HowDoge : guys, its a community based coin.
[2016-02-17 22:20:23] micmix : I remember maxcoin on cryptsy, one of the first big p&d
[2016-02-17 22:20:29] HowDoge : if you think its dead, then you pretty much in the same camp as bitcoin deniers
[2016-02-17 22:20:31] djuan : max got everyone believing in it. made money and abandoned it.
[2016-02-17 22:20:43] habibi : actually it was pumped on some shit exchange i dont remember and mostly on mcxnow
[2016-02-17 22:20:56] micmix : made some money on it, would make more but there was no way to short back then
[2016-02-17 22:21:00] habibi : and max didnt make that much money on it
[2016-02-17 22:21:23] HowDoge : far bigger game here than max
[2016-02-17 22:21:38] habibi : guy i met from uk had gpu algo miner for cuda/nvidia to mine it at the day of start, he had 50% of network basically for first week
[2016-02-17 22:22:07] BitMEX_Sam : :rocket: :boom:
[2016-02-17 22:22:28] habibi : and as that coin didnt have premine his strategy was sell everything if there is profit
[2016-02-17 22:22:38] habibi : so he made few hundreds btc everyday
[2016-02-17 22:22:51] HowDoge : I think maxcoin was like the 5th coin I got into, first one I cared to admit had potential
[2016-02-17 22:23:07] HowDoge : I had just made 2btc on GPUcoin I kid you not !
[2016-02-17 22:23:42] BitMEX_Sam : I made okay money on Quark way back.
[2016-02-17 22:23:56] BitMEX_Sam : Timing pump&dumps is good fun... same reason outright ponzis are still in style on Bitcointalk
[2016-02-17 22:24:21] HowDoge : yeah, bitcointalk is not a good place for alts in general
[2016-02-17 22:24:23] micmix : too bad we didn't have any way to short back then
[2016-02-17 22:24:33] Swedishnut : UNB was my first buy and made 3 BTC that sent me wild buying all sorts of random stuff when I started.
[2016-02-17 22:24:44] micmix : we still don't have a good way to short except for a few coins on polo
[2016-02-17 22:25:02] BitMEX_Sam : Well, you can short any alt you want, as long as it's Litecoin or Ethereum
[2016-02-17 22:25:15] Mangalica : :)
[2016-02-17 22:25:16] HowDoge : ok Henry
[2016-02-17 22:25:21] djuan : ha
[2016-02-17 22:25:54] BitMEX_Sam : ETH shorters are feeling good today.
[2016-02-17 22:26:00] micmix : yeah, I'm shorting all 10 coins that polo supports
[2016-02-17 22:26:52] micmix : very hard to lose money shorting alts, you just need enough coins to avoid margin calls on spikes
[2016-02-17 22:28:55] micmix : but right now I'm long on snow: we had 52cm yesterday, all time record
[2016-02-17 22:29:27] habibi : yea micmix i bet its profitable as hell in the end
[2016-02-17 22:29:56] habibi : very good tactic, all in all every ath or whatever is called monthly high or sth will be pushed down
[2016-02-17 22:30:19] habibi : i think sleger do the same as well? right?
[2016-02-17 22:33:40] micmix : I start shorting when a coin goes up 3x-4x and keep selling when it goes further up to keep my entry price within 10-20% of the top.
[2016-02-17 22:34:32] BitMEX_Sam : Solid strategy actually
[2016-02-17 22:34:35] habibi : no problem with liquidity on btc loans market?
